I want to do one princess dinner, I am debating between Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus.

Pro's and Con's for both?

Thanks in advance!

We did both in December and I would say the breakfast at Akershus was far better than dinner at CRT. What really turned me off from CRT was when I took my little girl to the bathroom and it was the dirtiest bathroom in all of Disney. I will have a hard time going back because that image is stuck in my head along with the fact that the food is way overpriced and really not that good.

another vote for Akershus.

I thought the service and the food was better.

At CRT your are paying for the castle and the photo package. I think it is something nice to do once but if you are looking for a good meal with Princesses, go with Akershus

We have done both. To me, if you have never done CRT, do it at least once. We had a far better experience there than I've read about on these boards. The food was not great, neither is Akershus, but you are eating in the castle, which is very cool.

Next trip, or next meal, try Akershus. They are both overated IMO, and my kids, but still fun experiences. I don't honestly think one is better than the other, but, again, if you have never done either, and can choose only one, do CRT just for the experience.

We have done breakfast at both.

Food was better at Akershus
Overall experience/environment was better at CRT

Pick which is more important to you and go from there.

We've also had breakfast at both and enjoyed both experiences.

We've had great character interaction at both locations. But I wouldn't recommend a seating time close to the end of breakfast. We did that once at Akershus and were hurried through and also found the same to be true at CRT when we had a late lunch time.

They have the same line up of princesses except we saw Ariel at Akershus and Jasmine at CRT.

As far as the food goes I have to give the edge to Akershus slightly. They have the family style meal along with a cool buffet. We enjoyed CRT more when the menu was not as restrictive. Not sure if this is true since it has been a couple of years since we had breakfast there, but we were given a choice of a spinach omelet (no substitutions), french toast, and a healthy breakfast (which I think was some kind of granola). We also had pastries.

Really cost is the main con against CRT for us. If cost were the same we would chose CRT just for the experience of eating in the castle.

since we are on the dining plan we are doing both this year but If you have to choose one I think Norway had better interaction, it didnt seem as rushed as CRT,you still get the photo package just not the wishing star and wand you get at CRT

We have had a couple of meals at both of them. IMO, the only advantage CRT has over Akershus is the fact you get to eat in Cinderella's Castle. Besides that we find the food better and the interaction better at Akershus. Akershus is also less expensive (and less TS credits).

However, while we find Akershus to be the superior of the the 2 dining experiences, I believe that CRT is something everyone should experience at least once. If this is a first trip or once in a life-time type of trip or something you keep pushing off, I would totally go with CRT just for that experience.

Thank you everyone!

I was first really set on Akershus and it sounds like that is the way to go but, I wonder if I should just do the Cinderella's Royal table too. We do have free dining, so I could do both, just didnt know if I wanted to do "all" character meals.

We did both for dinner. Definitely liked CRT better. I don't why I keep reading in reviews about CRT not having good food. We thought the food there was great. Akershus food is "different" (particularly the appetizer buffet). As for character experiences, CRT is more "regal" with each prinecss being announced into the room, plus you're in the castle which really can't be replicated anywhere else. At Akershus, it's far more subtle with no announcements. At Akershus, they have the princess parade. But at CRT, you get the wishing star/wand ceremony. Both have their good and bad. On DDP, Akershus is only 1 credit which is what I think gives the greater appeal to some people (as it's essentially half the price credit-wise). We weren't on DDP, so price wasn't that different.

AKERSHUS! AKERSHUS! AKERSHUS!

Lol ok now that I have that out of my system... CRT's food sucks. To put it bluntly. And it costs two TS credits. You are basically just paying to dine in the castle. Whereas Akershus has better food, and only is one credit.

I don't know I'm a picky eater and I thought the food at CRT was ok. I thought the food at Ak was blah exept the seafood its actually really good. If you a real fish eater and you like things like smoked salmon go to AK lol.

For interaction Ak is way better then CRT but I can say the wow factor for the girls inside the castle was huge. I say let your budget decide and your plans. Both are really nice. I was considering AK just for the two of us this trip but then felt like without the girls it wouldn't feel right.
