Princess Breakfast at Grand Floridian vs. Cinderella's Royal Table

I have another question if anyone would be so kind as to offer their advice and suggestions! I have three daughters ages 10, 6, and 1 and I have booked three character meals for our upcoming 5 night stay...Breakfast at the Grand Floridian (the princess breakfast - our travel agent booked it, not even sure what it's called...is it tea time?), Chef Mickey, and Cinderella's Royal Table. My travel agent advised against CRT because she had heard the characters didn't spend as much time with each family and because it uses two TS credits - do you feel this is true? We booked it anyway last minute and were lucky to get a breakfast there the day we leave...because it's our first trip there and I sort of had my heart set on taking my daughters to eat at the castle. In any case the agent had already booked us at the Grand Floridian to see princesses so we just kept the reservation.

I have several questions really - is it worth it to go to both of these? Is one better than the other? Do you think we'll be princessed out? We are using free dining to go so it's not so much about cost, but now it's so close I don't think we could book somewhere else for one of them.

Also - for a six day five night stay, we are doing the three character meals and then also we got the dinner package for Fantasmic. Do you think all that will be too overhwelming?? I would still like to see the main street electrical parade while we're there and of course everyone will want to do rides.

I don't think there is a princess breakfast at the GF. There's a Cinderella dinner there at 1900 Park Fare, which also serves breakfast, but it's not Cinderella at breakfast, it's Alice, Mary Poppins, and Pooh. There is also a afternoon tea, but as far as I know that's just tea, no characters. I'd call your TA to clarify what she booked.

I like the castle. I don't think the food is anything special, but I think it's worth doing at least once for the experience. And I've never had a problem with the character interaction there.

And no, I don't think four meals in six days is too many. Last year I went that long and had more TS meals then that.

I just sent her an email and now that I'm looking at what's offered at the GF I think it may be Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner...I don't know why I thought we were doing a breakfast or a lunch there. Hmm. Anyhow I'll wait to hear back from her.

I think Cinderella's Happily Ever After only has Cinderella and the characters from her story (Prince, Lady Termaine, Stepsisters). If you want to see more princesses (e.g., Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Aurora), then you'll need to go to CRT or Akerhaus.

CRT is worth it IMO. We've been there twice. The princesses each spend a good amount of time with each child... they will do pics, autographs and talk with them. The tea at the Grand Floridian is insanely expensive. I've wanted to do it but cannot justify $270 on a "tea party" for 2 people :rolleyes2

It doesn't sound like your travel agent knows too much... I'd follow the advise on this board more than him/her :goodvibes

Thank you and I agree with you 100%. I'm actually pretty upset. Thank goodness for Disboard - next time I will be booking my own tirp thank you very much!!! When I originally called her, I asked for CRT or Askerhaus (sp?) if we couldn't get the Royal Table- she advised against the Royal Table and said Askerhaus was booked, so we went with the Grand Floridian on her recommendation...only for me to find out today (four months after our booking mind you) that it's only Cinderella. I called her today and she assured me "I've booked MANY people there, I believe it's ALL the princesses..." then called me back and what do you know - Disboard was right! Argh. Luckily a few months ago I asked her to add Cinderella's Royal Table so my daughters will still ge to dine with princesses...she lost the paper in our booking folder that mentioned she booked it but thank goodness found it today. I was nearly devastated when she thought she hadn't gone on and booked it!!! She basically made it out as if I was a pain in the butt though - geeze. Four phone calls in the span of 9 months is NOT being a pain. This lady came so highly recommended by many people in my community - I don't know if it's because she isn't making much off of us or what but I'm really disappointed. :(

Oh no :( That does not sound like fun. Booking yourself is soooo easy and that way you know what is done. What a shocker that would've been to be at 1900 Park Fare and get the stepsisters instead of the princesses!

OH no!!! Next time book it yourself and let the DIS answer any of your questions... I would NEVER use her again. Sorry for your trouble :flower3:

Yes I know it! The only reason I discovered this was because I went on line and looked it up on Youtube! Sheesh! The kicker is - I have sewn princess dresses for ALL THREE of my children...my travel agent is a Facebook friend so she even knows this! Eek! I still wasn't sure about the Grand Floridian so I thought I'd pop on here and find out more about it...eek. Now I know. Thank you all so much!!! :)

I use a TA, but my TA knows not to argue with me. Actually when my TA has other clients that have questions, she usually asks me. But she's a friend, so I just let her do my stuff for commission, otherwise I would just do it myself. But I think a lot of TA's don't know as much as some of the people here on the DIS.

I would definitely keep CRT. We did it last year and are doing it again this year. There's nothing quite like eating at the castle. We found the food to be fine (had the beef). As far as character interaction, always take advice with a grain of salt. It really all depends on your kids. Characters interact with kids who interact with them. If you have shy kids, then I wouldn't expect the characters to necessarily bring them out of their shell. If your kids are really into it, you'll get great chacter interaction at any of the meals.

And if you're also going to 1900 PF, that is a great dinner also. There you'll get Cinderella, Prince Charming, the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. At CRT, while the other princesses will be there, you won't have Cinderella other than the initial picture downstairs. So do them both - your kids will love them.
