Anyone celebrated their daughter's birthday here? My daughter is turning 6 in July, and I wanted to do something princess-ish. We have never eaten here before, and I heard it might be a good idea. I was thinking of having our family and her two twin cousins (girls) with us, dressed in their best princess dresses. Maybe get a cake delivered from boardwalk bakery.

What do you guys think?
Have any advice pretty pleeeeeease? :)

well.. for my husband's birthday the brought him a small cake or a cupcake I can't remember.. and a character sang happy birthday.. I think it was prince charming... he would much rather had Cinderella!!! so funny!

They also get a place mat signed by all the characters!

You will have fun no matter what!

I think the funnest place to celebrate a birthday is Chef Mickey's!

Lasy July we were in WDW for our daughter's 5th birthday. In the morning we had breakfast in the castle and then that night we had dinner at 1900 Park Faire. DD (and all of us really) so much preferred the dinner at the GF over the Castle. The castle was just so busy and hustling! We were able to enjoy every aspect of our meal at GF...the food, the company, the characters, etc. DD was given a placemat signed by the characters, a birthday crown, a cupcake with candle and singing. The night was a real highlight of the trip, and dd still uses the place mat at home and she is looking forward to using the princess crown for her sixth birthday in a few weeks. The characters at this dinner were excellent, and there was plenty of no hurried interaction!

DD also did the princess tea party at the GF, and she said this dinner tied with that event for her fav part of the trip. I think my fav memory of the whole trip also happened that night. On a trip to the ladies room, dd and I stopped to say hello again to Fairy Godmother in the lobby. DD wanted to ask a question, but she was a bit shy. Fairy Godmother kneeled beside dd who finally whispered, "Do you really say Bibbity, Boppity, Boo?" Fairy Godmother gathered dd into her lap and sang the whole song to her from beginning to end! It was a goose bump, teary moment for this mom :-) I, of course, had no camera, but I truely think I took a mental photo that night that I will never forget!!!! It was precious.

I am certain your daughter will have a wonderful 6th birthday celebrating in style at WDW :-)

I've heard that chef mickeys and the norwegian princess dinner is also cool, but, I thought CMs wasn't very princessy, and I don't know if I can stomach the norwegian food, especially at that price.

what are your experiences?

We did both in January and loved every minute. The Norwegian food at Akershus was delicious IMO- although we really enjoy seafood and always try something new at Epcot. But if that doesn't suit your family, they do have the Princess Storybook Breakfast which is typical breakfast food. I have read that Belle is usually there in her yellow gown for breakfast and at lunch and dinner Ariel is usually there in her gown. For lunch when we were there Ariel greeted in her ball gown, Belle visited in her blue dress. We also met Mulan, Jasmine, and Aurora.

We had dinner at CM on my DS's 2nd birthday. It was a fun atmosphere with music and napkin swinging and lots of characters. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Chip and Dale. It was a great time and the food was great too, but it wasn't princessy. My little princess will be 5 this summer and if we were going to celebrate her birthday I would choose a princess interaction.

BTW, we loved 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and are planning to go there for dinner on our next trip!

We are going to be celebrating my younger DD's 4th bday at 1900 Park Fare for dinner in Sept. :) We asked her if she wanted her bday dinner w/ Mickey (Chef Mickey's) or Cinderella and she chose Cinderella. I'm going to call in advance and order that glass slipper dessert-I'll also order a second one for my other DD (6) so she is not is not too bummed about not having her bday at Disney.....

I don't believe you can order a cake from the Boardwalk Bakery and have it delivered to 1900 Park Fare.

I HIGHLY recommend calling the GF bakery - 407-824-2578 and order your daughter a cake from them. THe cakes from the GF bakery are HEAVENLY! And you can get a white chocolate crown, slipper and image of Cinderella on top of the cake (that part is $30) and the cake I ordered is $40. It's a 10", but they have 8" and 6" cakes too.

Hope this helps!

Have fun!

We're celebrating my DD's 2nd birthday at 1900 Park Fare for dinner on 7/21. I cannot wait!!!!!!!

We celebrated my DD's 6th b-day dinner at 1900 Park Fare in March. She wore her complete Cinderella costume so she got a lot of attention. The characters were great to her! Cinderella sang Happy Birthday to her. The food was excellent! We were so full that I'm glad we didn't order a cake. They brought out a cupcake with sprinkles and a candle for DD. Which I think she liked much better since it was just for her. She got a Happy Birthday Princess crown and an autograph placemat. We celebrated her 5th B-day at Chef Mickey's. She said she liked them both the same and of course wants to go back to both. :) You cant go wrong with either one. DD's already trying to decide where she want's to eat for her 7th b-day in Disney.

We were not there for a birthday, so I cannot speak to that part, but last summer we went to the Park Fare for dinner and the Akershus in Epcot for the Princess luncheon. We enjoyed them bot, but the 1900 Park Fare was much superior, in our opinion!

The character interaction was better, the ambiance was better, and the food was much superior. Plus it is a buffet, so you are all sure to get something you will enjoy. When you go, make sure to try the strawberry soup. It is heavenly!

Enjoy!

We are planning on celebrating DD's 7th birthday at 1900 Park Fare in January. :cheer2: It will be our 1st Disney World trip and all 3 DD's can't wait.....For that matter, neither can mom and dad

We are celebrating DD's 3rd birthday in Sept at 1900 Park Fare.

Last year, we celebrated her 2nd birthday at Chef Mickeys. She loved it. Hope this years choice is as good.

We are celebrating DD's 3rd birthday at 1900 PF. I am planning to order a cake from the GF bakery. I am sure we will be too full to eat it, but I have another DD (5) who will feel left out if the little one gets a cupcake and she gets nothing. So I figure a cake will be more inclusive. I may order the tiny castle cake or else just a small 6" cake. JJ

"Do you really say Bibbity, Boppity, Boo?" Fairy Godmother gathered dd into her lap and sang the whole song to her from beginning to end! TOTALLY brought tears to my eyes just now! what a amgic moment!!!!!!!!!!!

did any of you open the presents there at the table, or did you wait until later? :bday:

We went down the week that our DD turned 3 and our server found out we were celebrating her b-day that week. All the characters wished her a Happy Birthday, she got a birthday cupcake and a crown AND Prince Charming came over and picked her up and sang Happy Birthday to her while he was dancing with her. It was totally COOL and NOW she wants to marry him. Ha!! She thought she was a true princess even though she wasn't wearing her costume that night. Talk about Disney Magic :wizard:
