Princess Angelina's MAW PT report

Oh yes. A rental van will be essential. Just the thought of getting anywhere with strollers, walkers, food, diaper bags and medical supplies etc. and taking a shuttle... might be a nightmare. Guess I need to look at the whole logistical picture!! :)

I would def ask for the rental van!!! I have heard in other wish reports that you have to wait until later in the morning for the shuttle and you may not want to wait- also, you may have to call them an hour before you want to be picked up at the parks. I would prefer to have the ability to leave when I wanted to or needed to. Just my thought there- Esp if you are leaving later at night after fireworks.... imagine having to wait for your shuttle after a long day with the kiddos... on the other hand- no driving with a shuttle. But I like the convenience factor more! :goodvibes

Hope all is planning well.... I haven'[t been on too much lately. Finally found a part-time job and the kiddos are running me around too. :thumbsup2

Long time no update!

Wow.

I haven't heard anything from MAW. Am I supposed to be hearing anything?
Maybe its too soon to hear something. But we are still so excited.

I have been checking the boards from my phone which means that replying is really hard to do. So although I haven't joined in much, I am reading! Does anyone else have this problem?

We found out that we have some good family friends coming during Angelinas MAW. They are going to stay on site for a couple nights so we will be able to meet up with them. My Mom and two Aunts are coming as well (and maybe staying on site). So there will be ample helpers for going to the parks and being certain that the other kids can split up and do their own thing with supervision as well. This also gives us people to leave the baby or Jude with in case they aren't up for the long days of parks like I know Princess Angelina will be!

I am not sure where to start planning from here! Any suggestions? :)

What a beautiful family. I hope Angelina has the time of her life on her trip.:cheer2:

Hi ! Joining in. I just love your family .. I've always wanted to adopt and have so much respect and admiration for those who have. :worship:

My wish kid is Jayden and we'll be at GKTW from April 4th - 10th. Then we are heading on over to WDW for an extra few days !

Can't wait to hear about your trip ! You'll be coming in just after we leave.

Joining in!

What big, beautiful family you have! Angelina has such a light about her!

My wish child is Keira, she is 6. We are going to GKTW/ February 27-March 4th and can't wait!!

I'm looking forward to reading more details of your trip.

Thanks for joining in!
We are waiting to here from MAW. Our wish grantor called last week and said that we should be hearing more details soon. We know that we leave on the night flight from Seattle on April 20 and return on April 27.

They already scheduled Angelina's special wish at the BBB. We aren't sure which location or date its on yet. I am hoping to make some ressies for some princess lunch/dinner on the same day so that she can be all dolled up and have a special meal. I was looking at the menus from the restaurants last night and she is such a picky eater I don't think she will actually eat anything! LOL But its still a wonderful memory making time.

My best friend and her hubby and two children are going to come down to Orlando and stay at Disney for five of the nights that we are there. They are planning on buying park hopper tickets and tickets to Universal so that they can help out and come join in on the fun too! We are hoping to bring them to GKTW so that they can experience it with us too.

My Mom and two Aunts are also coming along. They will rent a place to stay near GKTW. That way we have PLENTY of hands to split up and let each of the kids do their thing. Certainly we will all go to the parks together but its really a blessing to know that if we want to leave the two little ones behind and do something special with our wish girl we are able to do so. I know that she will be able to go go go, when they will get tired and worn out easily. Its going to be such a wonderful, magical time. I can hardly wait!!! All of the kids are just so excited. Especially Angelina. :)

Just joining in. What a beautiful, wonderful family you have. I hope all your dreams come true and that you have a magical time during your trip.
We leave in about a week and a half and I understand when you say your daughter is excited.....I think poor Cassie is going to burst! As much as our lives are stressful....we are truly blessed to have such wonderful angels.

Yay on getting dates!

Thanks for joining in!

Today is Angelina's 6th birthday! We are having a birthday party for her on Saturday with some friends from school. She is so excited. Its going to be a pirate and princess themed party.

Ok friends... I need to ask for some advice or some prayers- or even better BOTH.
Each night Angelina has a series of medical treatments that we go through with her. Catheters during the day, foley cath at night, cone enemas, meds that make her sleepy/belly ache/grouchy, sitting and being patient, skin treatments for skin breakdown, etc etc etc. Then to bed where she needs to wear a C-Pap to sleep etc. etc. tec.
Ugh.
On her birthday yesterday you don't know how bad I wanted to just "skip it". Of course we all know with kids with medical needs- you can't just skip it. She was so miserable, crying, saying she missed being 5 years old etc. Then tonight she refused to eat dinner (think it was a combo of belly ache and anxiety about her nightly routine)... and she is angry about being different. About the medical stuff, about having to wear diapers (much of the night routine is hoping to get her out of diapers at some point), about kids at school asking her why she wears diapers, or uses a walker, or walks differently. She is angry and upset and I can't change it all for her. I can't make it better, I can't make any of these things go away. I don't know how to make it easier and to help her to understand why they are necessary.
How do we put our kids through so much and help them to understand? How do we ourselves deal with the guilt? If there was a way I could take all the pain away and deal with it myself, I would.
I am just sad. I wonder if she feels that I feel sad for her. Not "sorry" for her- but just sad that life is so tough and she's only 6!
:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Please pray for my sweet Angelina- and if you have any advice on getting through the owie uncomfortable tedious medical stuff- please share!
Hugs all
Sarah

So I might be the most indecisive person EVER.

We arrive on Saturday morning at 6am. (We are taking a red eye from Seattle.) Do you think we will have energy to do a park that day? Or do you think we should lay low?

On Sunday we are going to Magic Kingdom and Angelina has her BBB makeover (which was her actual wish) at Noon. I did a little checking for a character meal ressie and there doesn't seem much left in the way of Princesses. I was thinking with her all dressed up and having a meal with the princesses how fun! Then again she is the worlds pickiest eater and maybe not having more "sit down" time is a good thing?

So I thought about doing a character meal another day... but where? Which one? When? Then I looked at the price... x's our big family and OUCH. Maybe we just take the little kids to a character meal and let the big kids do something different? Is that cheap? Should I just put it on the credit card and worry about it later? This is a once in a lifetime trip why I am stressing so much? LOL

Advice always welcome experts!!

First, you'll have to do orientation at GKTW, so that'll kind of show you how your day will go. I think the morning one is at 9 am. so you should be there by then and all checked in. Maybe take a nap, relax, enjoy GKTW and then maybe do DTD that evening. Check out the shops.

Then again she is the worlds pickiest eater and maybe not having more "sit down" time is a good thing? You'll be able to meet princesses elsewhere in the park, I wouldn't stress too much on those.

Maybe we just take the little kids to a character meal and let the big kids do something different? Is that cheap? Should I just put it on the credit card and worry about it later? This is a once in a lifetime trip why I am stressing so much? LOL I'd suggest doing a breakfast character meal. Simply because those are the cheapest ones. Maybe Chef Mickey's, it has the big 5 there. We're doing 4 character meals on our trip, but 3 of those are breakfasts and only 1 lunch, that's Keira's wish, meeting the princesses. And the only one you have to prepay for is CRT or the shows, like Mickey's BBQ. You just have to put a credit card down to hold your reservation and if you don't make it or cancel within 24 hours, they'll charge you $10 per person.

Advice always welcome experts!!
