Princess Angelina's MAW PT report

Thank you so much for the input and advice. I agree that doing a breakfast is a good plan. I checked out the Chef Mickeys and it does look like a perfect fit for our crew. I am planning to call to make ressies tomorrow. My Mom, two aunts and our friends who will be down all want to come. I tried to do it online but I think we have too many people in our party to do it online because it wouldn't let me book!
LOL

Thanks again!

Oh good! We did Chef Mickey's and I thought it was great.

If you need another meal, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot is suppose to be great, not as expensive at CRT and you get to meet princesses there. It's family style too. And, I don't think you have to pre pay for it like with CRT. And you can do breakfast there too.

I made our reservations for a character breakfast. We weren't able to get Chef Mickeys. But we did decide to go with the Ohana character breakfast. It had really good reviews and my kids love Lilo and Stitch. (I think it has a special meaning for our children who are adopted, that's just a great movie!)

There are going to be 18 people at breakfast! Between our family, my Mom, two Aunts and friend and her family. Isn't that going to be a hoot? (They of course said that they might not get us all at the same table! I didn't figure they would have a table big enough!)

So far here our the plans that we have:

Saturday: Arrive at 6am! Stop by Target or somewhere to get "essentials". (I am trying to NOT bring much stuff with us!) Go to GKTW and attend the 9am orientation. Hang out at GKTW for the day and family and friends are coming to visit. (This is ok right? We figure we will be tired and be able to enjoy GKTW all day would be really nice!) At night our friends are staying at Ft. Wilderness and they asked us over to watch the fireworks.

Sunday: Magic Kingdom- Angelina has her BBB makeover. We will probably park hop over to one of the other parks but we are planning a really long day of Disney! I didn't make any ressies at the Castle. There was one opening for FOUR only in the afternoon for a late lunch. Am I going to regret not having that special meal with Angelina all dolled up? Does anyone know if they have the Rapunzel wig? She really wants to be Rapunzel... and she has an ultra sensitive head- I think she is all about that LONG hair. Should I buy one somewhere? They have the extra magic hours late this night at MK- can we stay for that?

Monday: IOA and US- hoping to eat at the Three Broomsticks.

Tuesday: Breakfast at Ohana. Epcot and ? Another long day- hoping to park hop to a 2nd park.

Wednesday: Our friends and family leave. :( Leaving which park we go to open for whatever we feel we didn't see enough of.

Thursday: Same as Weds- leaving it open right now about where to go back to. We know we want to be at GKTW for Christmas. :)

Friday: Seaworld. Our flight doesn't leave until the evening. What time do we have to check out of GKTW?

Then Home! Am I missing anything?

There is a Walmart I think really close to GKTW, at least that's what I've read and we'll be stopping there on our first day.

Ohana has gotten lots of great reviews! Sounds perfect for you guys!

Friends and family can visit you at the resort. They'll even give them a voucher for a free meal and ice cream to enjoy with your family. Visiting hours are over at 11pm. I called to ask because my BFF, her DH and 3 kids are coming to visit us while we're there.

I've seen Rapunzel wigs at Toys R Us. At the Disney store I've only seen like a long braid attached to a head piece thing. So I know know about what they'll have at BBB, but there is a BBB thread w/ pictures in the theme parks and strat. forum. :)

Your plans sound great! Research height requirements and such before you go, that way you'll be able to tell what rides to skip.

You have to check out of GKTW by 11 am on your departure day, but you can hang at the resort until you need to leave for the airport!

Your a wealth of information Thank you!
Any idea if that Walmart might carry autograph books?
I am wondering how many to get and which ages will want to participate in getting character autographs... any ideas/thoughts?

Last time at Disney was when our bigger kids were little and they all wanted to get autographs. We bought the books once we got to the park and it was $$$$. So I best plan ahead this round! :)

Thanks again!

They might, I've never been to it. You might want to make some, you could probably do that cheaper than buying them. I know I bought Keira one when we were there 2 years ago and it was 7 or 8 bucks I think.

I saw this on making them.

Here's another idea
http://www.craftymamaof4.com/making-autograph-books-for-disneysmmoms-celebration/

Here some for only $2 at Amazon, there are 8 left in stock, not sure how many you wanted, but they had other styles too. These might be cheaper than making them actually.

Here are princess ones, they had like Minnie Mouse too and others.

I second the making your own idea! Esp with lots of kids. You could have them printed out and binded too if you take it to a office supply store and make them look really nice! Or just get some of the shower hook type loops or ribbon even to tie it together- they look really cute this way. And you will get LOTS of signatures since you won't have to wait in lines! :cool1: You could print up all the characters the kids want to see!
We bought ours last time and brought sharpies with us - easier for some of the characters to hold. I had the characters sign only on the right side of the page so I could glue in a pic of them signing the book or posing with the kiddos ont he left. Looks super cute! :goodvibes Even my 11 year old likes to get the autographs- heck, even I do! I think they all become a few years younger as soon as they walk in the gates. It's just fun! :thumbsup2

Our daughter's MAW trip overlaps with Angela's. I had tears in my eyes as I was reading about her not wanting to be different? Our daughter, Mackenzie, is really struggling with that right now. She is 8 and we moved last summer so she started a new school when school started in August. She was just starting to make some friends when we found out she had a brain tumor. She just went back to school, has a walker, and needs an aid right now. She cries every day that she doesn't want to be different and why can't she be like all the other kids. She keeps saying she wants to be the old Mackenzie. It is heart breaking but you do the best to encourage them that God chose them to be special for a reason.

By the way where in Ohio did your daughter have her surgery? We live in Ohio.

Loving hearing all of your details. We just got our trip dates so I am just now starting and feel like I'm way behind!

I love the idea of leaving a blank page in between for pictures. Awesome idea. I think that my kids are going to all want to participate- at least all those that are under 13. And the teens will certainly love helping the little ones make the books with me. I bet that they will want ALL the characters that they see to sign- even those that they don't know! LOL :rotfl:

Hi Shawna,
I hope that we can meet you at GKTW. I am really excited for Angelina to be able to go on the boundless playground there. I know she is looking forward to that part too. Its so hard to see all that our kids go through. I am thankful to have these message boards and to find other families that deal with the same things. I don't want to have Angelina be feeling different than everyone else but God certainly did make her special in my wonderful ways!!

Angelina had several surgeries in Toledo at St. Vincent Mercy hospital. They saved her life and I am forever grateful! :littleangel::littleangel::littleangel:

I actually grew up in Ohio on the west side of Cleveland in the suburbs. Where exactly are you at in Ohio? We moved out here to Washington state for my husbands work seven years ago- but I am still an Ohio girl!!

We had a long day today at the hospital with appointments for both Angelina and Jude. Angelina has some vision issues and had to get an exam today. Her eyes are so dark that they had to put drops in four times over the course of two hours to get them dialate. Ugh. She was so upset. I just wish I could take it all away for her and not make her go through more!! The doctor kept reminding us how well she is doing and what a miracle it is that she can see! So it does help to put things into perspective!!

Blessings to you!

I didn't realize you guys were that close.

We live about 45 minutes from Toledo, in Michigan. :)

I am in Ohio between Akron and Canton so about an hour south of Cleveland! Mackenzie is so excited for the playground as well and the pool. She is a fish and was an excellent swimmer before her surgery. She did get in the therapy pool during rehab and she can't swim like she used to but still loves to be in the water. She was actually with my mom today as she didn't have school and called me at work. There was something about the way that she said "Hi Mommy"! I have not heard her voice sound so much like her since her surgery. It is just great to hear her speech getting better every day! It would be great to meet with any other DIS/Wish famillies while we are at GKTW. I can't beleive we go in less than 2 months. I am frantically trying to come up with a plan as our list Disney trip I started planning a year in advance. Looking forward to following along on all your PTR's and hearing about the actual trips!

I did a few years of college at Kent State which can't be too far from you. :)
We all love the pool too. Its so freeing for Angelina to feel like she can move around well in the water. I loved hearing that about Mackenzie and when she said "Hi Mommy!". Its definitely those little things each day that get me by at my house! Tiny miracles all around us! I love it! Going to get caught up now on everyones PT reports. I love this quiet time of my evening! :)
Blessings,

Dear Sarah,:grouphug::hug: for all of the medical problems and the too long days!

Matthews Boundless Playground was AMAZING!!! Be prepared for your children to feel even better at GKTW than they have anywhere else! It truly does hold magic and they instinctively know it is ALL for them! I am so excited for you to be able to experience that!

THANK YOU for always visiting Lisa's TR...so many of the wish families don't sign in and you have never been put off by the sheer number of posts...I appreciate that! :flower3: Most of the Wish families don't come back after they return from their trips and it is nice to have camaraderie with someone who "gets" the day to day medical "stuff"!

Walmart is at the end of the road from GKTW....VERY CLOSE!!! I vowed to not stop in a store NOT on Disney property and I didn't the entire trip. I shipped some things directly to GKTW and you can do that in advance and have them hold it until your arrival if you choose to. :) I even shipped bottled water directly from Amazon with free shipping about a week in advance.

Finally getting a moment to give an update. Sorry I have been MIA. I had been gone for a week on a Moms retreat to of all places ORLANDO! I was able to go to the Magic Kingdom for the "One more Disney Day" on the 2/29 and we also visited Discovery Cove. (A few moms and I- as well as my teenager who was along to baby the nursing baby.)

It was really nice to get a break away from my busy life but even more exciting getting to visit Orlando and dream about Angelinas Make A Wish trip that is coming SO SOON now.

I am anxious to hear an update from MAW. I am really clueless as far as what happens from here?

Ok off to read all the trip reports I need to get updated on all your beautiful children!
xoxo
Sarah
