Princess and the frog ride????

A GROUP OF DISNEY IMAGINEERS HAVE RECENTLY BEEN SAID TO HAVE BEEN COMING UP WITH SOME SERIOUS IDEAS FOR A PRINCESS AND THE FROG RIDE! IF THIS PULLS THROUGH, IT WILL BE SET IN THE FANTASYLAND SECTION IN MAGIC KINGDOM WHERE THE OLD 'SCUTTLES LANDING' SPOT USED TO BE. THIS RIDE WILL BE A STORYBOOK ATTRACTION SIMILAR TO THE SNOW WHITE, PETER PAN, AND WINNIE THE POOH RIDES.

Disney is trying to be politically correct. They need an African American princess to go with the Middle Eastern (Jasmine), Asian (Mulan, thought technically she is not a princess), and The multitude of Caucasian princess's (do I need to name them).

This is not happening.

There was concept art done for a make over of WDW Tom Sayuers island. It would have been rethemed to WDW's version of New Orleans Square. It would have included the following.

1. Princess and the Frog dark ride similar in length to TLM.
2. Character Meet and Great.
3. Table service restaurant.
4. Rerouting of Rivers of America for the River Boat because there would be a bridge built connecting the Island to the rest of the park.

Not happening because the film was a minor hit as a CM I can tell you Disney was expecting huge things from the film but that didn't happen.

Nothing it's not being built because the movie failed to make the money Disney thought it would. It has nothing to do with PC but everything to do with $$$$.

Everything is wrong with trying to be PC, IMO. Nothing is wrong with including other Princess icon's based on the merit of the corresponding film, of course.

Yea fair but not smart in 10 years PATF will be mostly forgotten why spend money on a ride for it?

I'm not saying it was a classic. It was good, but not great. I don't think that current management would spend for a ride unless it was a mega hit or sold lots of merch. However, in Walt's day, he made rides and attractions out of all of his animated films - it was called selling the product. My nieces loved the film, that should be the main indicator of success - how much the kids liked it.

Woah woah woah. I am the LAST person to EVER be racist or agianst being politically corerct. Disney knows what they're doing. Which is exactly why they are not going to build a Tiana attraction. As the OP's said, the film did not do as well as expected, and yes, the Scuttle's Landing area does have Maurice's name on it. I said "IMO" in my last post to let all of the following posters know that that was MY OPINION. I am not a fan of Tiana, or the fact that people are trying to portray her as a "classic." She isn't. That has nothing to do with race. Just that she is the newest princess since Ariel and/or Jasmine I believe. And there is quite the gap between those two and Tiana. So no offense to anyone who likes her, good for you. I am just saying that I really don't. And I also agree with Figment632...no ride. Sorry.

Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella have castles which are the park icons...

I do think a Tiana restaurant would be a nice addition to the Port Orleans resort somewhere...seems to make the most sense
