Hi, first time attending Festival of the Arts and would like to catch some of the Broadway concerts. How busy are these usually? What time is recommended to get in line for a seat? We usually go to the Garden Rocks concerts and depending on the artist, crowds can vary greatly! Thanks!

I went on Thursday jan 29 and Saturday jan 31. Both times I walked in at 5:20 and found a good seat. I didn't line up ahead of time.

Maybe I was there at a bad time. Previous years were always fairly easy to get into, but this year, there were a couple times when I went about 1/2 hour before a show, and there were already long lines of people waiting. I was really surprised because it wasn't like that in previous years.

If you go before the theater opens, there will probably be a long line. However, since there aren't usually a lot of dining package people entering the theater early, the line moves quickly and rarely fills up the theater. That's why both things can be true. A long line 30 minutes before and people walking in without waiting 15 minutes or closer before the show. That's been the case for us when we have gone.

The only thing to keep an eye on is the weather. If it might rain, you might want to wait beforehand and then get one of the seats under cover. The early show will tend to be the most full, but even then you can usually walk in not too long before hand and still find a seat.
