It was announced today that Prince Charles and Camilla are engaged to be married on April 8th at Windsor Castle. She won't be known as the Princess of Wales, and she won't be Queen when Charles becomes King. So how do you feel about it ? All the news channels are doing phone polls, and it seems that people aren't too happy about it.

Personally, I don't give a monkey's. They have been together for years, and obviously love each other, so why shouldn't they marry. My only gripe would be that she shouldn't be Queen - but apart from that 'Good Luck To Them'

At the end of the day, no-one will replace Diana, and I don't think that Camilla will try to.

Same here, couldn't care less. Personally I don't want him to be king in the first place but seeing as we don't have much say in it, I just plan to ignore the whole thing. It's not like they have any power anyway...

I feel that he shouldn't marry her and be able to retain his claim on the throne - but I can't give a rational argument for my views.

:Pinkbounc i agree i couldnt careless it wont affect me or mine and noone will ever replace diana and i cant see what all the fuss is about who cares  29 days until our trip now that i do care about cant wait :cheer2:

Both Charles and Camilla are legally able to get married to each other and have survived enough of an examination from the media to indicate that they really do love each other. The royal family all seem thrilled that they have taken this step and it affects them far more than the normal 'man in the street'.

I feel people should celebrate this event and feel happy for two people that love each other and have decided to declare their love for all to see.

I also don't see why she should become Princess of Wales and eventually Queen. That is our royal tradition and it should be maintained.

Good luck to them :)

Had Diana not been tragically killed it is possible she would also have remarried and I don't see why Charles should not have the same option. Yes I do know all the arguments about Charles being heir to the throne but it's just what I think.

Apparently Wedgewood are going to do a commemorative dog bowl to mark the occasion :)

Sorry but he should renounce his right to be the King.

She should never been the Queen as the rightful Queen died in a car crash in Paris.

And who was one of those responsible for the divorce but Camila Parker Bowles

They are making a mockery of the Royal Family.

As I understand it he will be the head of the Church of England. Great role model. He has an affair whilst married to someone who should have been our future Queen. There was no comparison between Diana and Parker Bowles.

Sorry but they are welcome to each other. Just be something else for the rest of the world to laugh at us about.

Mind you it might be a public holiday, be shown live on TV, kids get a day off school, street parties.

Think I will get more excited by cleaning the car!!!!

Dont see any reason at all why they should not be together, they love each other, are both divorced, good on them, life's to short to worry about it.

They have come through all the media hype and public opions and are still together, what difference to the british public will it make, nothing at all, it's their life, let them live it. If their children are fine about it, that's all that should matter.

i think if he loved her that much he should have abdicated, doing it this way he gets exactly what he wants without any sacrifice !! would'nt it be lovely if life was like that for the rest of us !!

I don't see what all the fuss is about :confused3 They have been together such a long time now and clearly love each other very much, then they should have the right to be together like any married couple. I agree she shouldn't become princess of wales as that was Diana's title. Good luck to them :cheer2:

At the end of the day Charles is but a human being and as such he is entitled to some happiness in his life and if that means Camilla then good luck to them both.

As for the King and Queen business well personally, and yes you can flame me all you like, I think we should just abolish the lot of them.

I am delighted by this announcement and wish them all the best for the future. I think Charles will make a great king when his time comes and that his Consort will be a tremendous asset to our country.

Hi,
Are you sure this is true..???
Surely it would have been on the news or in the papers.... :rotfl2:

Mick.

It has been reported that the way the royal family live does not reflect the way normal people live their lives. Well surely a husband having an affair, dumping and divorcing his wife, then marrying the mistress does reflect the way normal people live their lives. Did that sound a bit cynical???????? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Actually according to the constitution, as his wife she will become Princess of Wales automatically but won't be known as such. I agree that would be unfair to the boys.

Personally, although I dislike him, they are obviously meant to be together, she is much more on a par with him intellectually and I wish them happiness.
