:wave2: I have one more resturant to pick. I need a great dinner one :drinking1 . I narrowed it down to Prime Time and Sci-Fi. Can some of you give me your experiences at these places :hyper2: . That will help me in deciding which to pick.

We have loads of fun at both, but, if you have never done either... I would suggest PT. Everyone has a lot of laughs there. Don't want to tell you what happens as it is soooo much fun to experience the first time. Aunts, Uncles, ya better behave!!! Have fun. :flower:

Another vote for primetime simply because of the fun and unusual atmosphere. Your group will have a great time at PT unless someone you are travelling with is a very nervous or "uptight" individual who doesn't like to be teased. Believe it or not on rare occasions I have seen people who do not know what to expect be offended at the staff for the ribbing or joking that goes on, otherwise it would be a great choice. I am not trying to scare you away from Prime Time in anyway...just thought you should know just in case.

My daughter always has loved going and seeing her daddy be "yelled at" for elbows on the table or other bad manners or "scolded" for not eating all of my veggies!

Hope you have a great time!

I vote for Sci-Fi. They loved the Sci-Fi atmosphere. My kids did not care for Primetime at all. Good luck with your choice.

My family, husband & 2 sons (15 & 21) like the Sci Fi over the Prime Time. We love the old cars, corny movie clips, glow in the dark ice cubes, and the whole drive in theater thing. We have seen not so good reviews on the food but we have always been very happy with it. We love the desserts there. Plan to eat there a couple times on our trip 2 weeks from now.

We are going to Sci-Fi in Aug. I have never been to either, Sci-fi seems to be more our taste. The Drive In setting looks really fun. My Dbf and I are also a little shy so I think the Prime Time setting might not be as fun for us. :flower:

Done both and enjoyed atmosphere at both, pretty neat. However, as far as food goes, we enjoyed primetime, but did not care for sci-fi, would not go back. Even the family in front of us turned around and asked us if we didn't like our meal either.

I personally like both but:

Would only do Sci Fi for a lunch or snack their dinner menu is not that great.
Prime time is like a home cooked meal at Grandmas, I prefer this as a dinner but have done late lunches.

Wait are you talking about PT and Sci-fi? CS - Coronado Springs is also on the dining plan. What is TS?

I think they mean table service or counter service. They would both be table service.

Sorry I was asking if I would need to use table service or counter service credit for Sci-Fi and Prime. Thanks

Both restaurants are table service on the dining plan.

We have dined at both several times. The food is better at PT, much better actually. Atmosphere is very diff - PT is fun, active, and engaging, however, if you get a dud of a waiter, it can be disappointing if you are going for the entertainment. We have never really had a great waitress there, they were all sufficient, just not real playful. That being said, the food has been delicious and HUGE portions so it's a very affordable place to dine (DH and I split, couldn't even finish our half portions, so our meal was $20 with tip and tax!) regardless, and it's fun to watch other waiters that are into the antics.

SciFi is the best themed restaurant at WDW, IMO, it's very cool. Lunch menu is better than dinner, it's mostly burgers and shakes which are all good. DH and I just had dinner there a couple weeks ago and his shrimp pasta was yummy while my catfish was bland and flavorless. Service has always been efficent there. The atmosphere there is pretty quiet, you aren't really set up for conversations and people stay quiet to watch the funny clips. It's a nice change of pace from having to come up with conversations with your family for the 15th time that week =) It's pretty dark in there, too.

All that to say, it depends on your family, what kind of food they enjoy most, and what kind of environment they'd enjoy the most. We like both for what they are =)

Primetime or SciFi? That is a hard choice. I love both so much. My family has had great experiences at both.

At the SciFi, we had a party of 10, and I think I was 12/13 at the time (19 now) and I had this chopsticks in my hair, you know, just to hold it up. Well our waiter had a blast with it. My sister and I were laughing so hard...he grabbed a bunch of straws and started sticking them through my hair, cause he said "The look wasnt complete yet" at the end he called himself an "artist" the whole time we were giggling he was kinda busting our chops. He sat down with us in our booth, joked about us...it went on and on. My dad got it all on tape, it was great.

At the Primetime, we had Aunt Mary. A woman who left a 6 figure job in order to waitress and have fun. Well, we sat and had dinner, and we spent the time laughing at a father and son being "scolded" by "Dad" from the kitchen for goofing off. The whole restaurant got into it. So, dinner progressed and I got green beans with my dinner. I detest green beans. So, Aunt Mary wasnt pleased. She tried spoon feeding them to me a few times but once I refused she took them away and said "I guess no dessert for you". Well, once everyone elses dessert arrived, I certainly got mine. There were the green beans, covered in whipped cream and sprinkles with a cherry on top. Once again trying to feed them to be. A few laughs and pictures later, we left.

Needless to say, both were an amazingly good time. Part can be said on luck for getting great wait persons, and partially cause me and my family know how to go with the flow.

If you arent the kinda person who can take a joke, like said above, I agree, they might not be for you.
But either choice is grade A for some great disney food and fun!
Enjoy! :wave2:

Definitely Sci-Fi. The food at PT is adequate at best (nothing you can't get better at home) and the atomsphere and the whole 'let's yell at the (over)paying customers' shtick is for the birds.

Sci-Fi has good food, and the atmosphere can't be beat. It's a fun (and cool) oasis from the hot parks.

We (22 y.o. female and 24 y.o. male) love both of them and we make it a priority to do both every trip to WDW! You cannot go wrong with either and I say choose both if you can fit them in! Have a blast! :cool1:

My vote goes for Sci Fi. The food gets mixed reviews, but we actually love eating there. We stick with burgers, veggie burgers, fries, and shakes at lunch, and we think those items are really good. Then there's the theming - very fun!

I was really disappointed in Prime Time. The theming was fun, but I thought the food was so bad I couldn't finish it - yuck!

We love Sci Fi and try to go every time because it is so different. But my family likes the food for lunch rather than dinner. The food at Prime time is more like a homecooked supper. So I would say it depends on your time that you will be there. You have to get into the whole dinner experience where ever you go but that is what makes it special. We have also eaten the buffet in Commisary and that is good for a sit down dinner too. Not as much atmosphere here though.

Iwould go to Sci-fi the food was great, the server was one our best, the atmphere was super. My only gripe was waiting for our table. But we had a great time. Warnig the portions are huge, we actually had enough for part of a lunch the next day. :goodvibes
