Prime Day 2024

Amazon prime: Just found ASICS Gel Kayano 29s half price. Of course the 31s are already out and the sale has limited sizes and colors. They will go in the closet until I take an older pair out of rotation. You can never have too many pairs of running shoes in reserve though. 😉
I got a pair of Saucony Ride 16s for $70. My current pair still has a lot left, but as you said, can never have too many in reserve. I kick off Princess training in October and this pair will enter the rotation then.

I was browsing around, not specifically Prime Deals, but just some things I like and I noticed something. On prime days, several of the NON-Prime items increased in price from what they cost a few weeks ago.

Can I just vent that any Prime Day deal under 50 percent off is lame? Same with Black Friday. If you're gonna give me a deal, give me a DEAL.
I think this too! some of it is barely off what the normally discount is.

Though if any of you have kids/grandkids

This is a good deal. We have these for checkout at the library where I work and they are super popular and always out. They even have a few Disney of the starter sets.

Nuun tablets (or at least my favorite variety Strawberry Lemonade) are on sale. $36/8 pack compared to the $50/8 pack at my local running store.

Was thinking of ordering some. I've had some not so good experiences with hydration mixes. Do these taste like sweat? Any flavor you would recommend? I do not like fruit punch.
I have grapefruit, and it definitely doesn't taste sweet. It's very grapefruit-y so if you don't like the tartness, you could try some other citrus flavors.

The lemon lime ones are pretty good - some of the other flavors can be overpowering.

I tend to stick to the fruit flavors and think they taste good. They can be a bit sweet if you don't mix them with enough water, but are easy to dilute down. For a race, some folks make a concentrated version to carry and take with additional water at the water stops.

I like Lemon Lime, Pear, Strawberry Lemonade (and I don't normally like lemonade), Watermelon, and the new Popsicle Firecracker. Not a fan of Passion Fruit and Pina Colada. If you don't add enough water they can taste pretty strong, but they're easy to dilute down. I am admittedly horrible about drinking water, so I love these to both flavor my water and keep me hydrated. They're great for Disney when it's hot outside or for when I go to the parks on race weekends to stay hydrated.

"Tasting like sweat" is definitely going to be a personal decision. I usually mix mine with somewhere between 16 and 20oz of water. I didn't like fruit punch either. Our go-to flavors here are:
-Lemon Lime
-Strawberry (my kids like it, it's not my favorite)
-the current "firecracker" one that looks like a popsicle on the bag (this is the favorite right now)
-pineapple yuzu (caffeinated, 2nd favorite)
-seaberry (not my favorite...pretty mild flavor)
-orange tangerine (vitamin c, in the winter)

in sugar-free the white peach is decent.

I'm also going to throw out there that even with the amazon sale, you can get these WAY cheaper from costco, albeit with more limited flavor options when it goes on sale for $21.99 for 30 sticks (26 sticks in sugar-free flavors.) If you have a bunch of people in your house who are active and drink these regularly, you can basically pay for a membership just on stocking up on these. AND the online price is the same as the in-store price and includes shipping/handling. You'd break even on the cost of a membership when you bought your 8th pack. The caveat there being that they only go on sale about 4 or so times a year I think, and sometimes it's not all the flavors.

It's so interesting to hear everyone say Liquid IV doesn't taste too sweet to them, because I've tried it a couple of times and I felt like I was drinking syrup 😂 🤢

I like Skratch; I find the taste much milder and more pleasant.

Thank you for the heads-up about Costco. Costco price comes out to $.73 per stick versus $1.09 with the Prime Day price.
