FRUSTRATED!!! I'm sure my DU agent is working hard for me.... BUT the website is cooperating so nicely with OBB transfers and the rooms I WANT are available. When I check my upcoming cruises on the castaway club website, NO ALASKA!!!! FRUSTRATING!!!!!

I went in via the Castaway Club membership option. There it lists your reservations past and upcoming. Click on your upcoming reservation and there is an option to modify that. From there click on the "Change Itinerary" near the cruise title at the top.

Again, thx Kay. That's great advice on how to re-book a "placeholder" onboard booking. I now did that, and received the 10% discount, and
TA-DA, also the 50% deposit deal - just had to make up the difference from what I already had on account for the placeholder, which had been a 4-day.
Had to call in to cancel the "new" res I made online at exactly 0800, so I hope I didn't help drive up the "tiers".

Well, I finally was able to change my OB ressie online. Won't go into the details of my self-imposed trials and tribulations. Suffice it to say that I was able to book what I wanted, but we have a guarenteed cabin. Anyway, here are the details:

August 30, 2011 Alaskan Cruise

2A C05C $1,779.90 (ea) cruise fare, $98.00 (Trans), $191.26 (Fees), Additional deposit of $400.00 required.

Total $3,847.26.

That was not as bad as I feared it would be. And the prices appeared to be the same as they were last week. Without the 10 percent discount, this cruise price was $1,959.90.

Good luck to everyone else. Now I am going back to bed for a few minutes.

Meanwhile I've been watching my existing ressie online & it still says 12/4/10 so my DU girl has not done me yet. The cabin I want for the Med is still out there. I am so frustrated now that I can't stand it!! I want to do it myself and grab it NOW!! I wish I'd known we could do this online! I will be SOOO upset if she doesn't get to me until later & misses it. My reg. DU agent is out & this one is covering for her. I'll bet she does her own clients first. I didn't sleep all night. Now that it's down to the wire letting someone else do this is making me crazy. OK, we know I'm crazy so crazier than normal!

I am going thru the same thing! DU has not done mine yet either & I keep watching the DCL website for the cabin I want on the Med...so afraid it will slip away before she does mine! Both my Plan B & Plan C are about $1K more if she doesn't get it for me!!

ETA - NOW my CC # is getting that it's not a valid CC # message on the DCL website! DOH! I spent almost an hr. on the phone with them last week trying to fix it!! DOH!!

I called at 8:00 and only held 5 minutes before someone answered. I was shocked!! Very lucky!!

Since we were transferring a cruise that had the 50% deposit, WE WERE ABLE TO KEEP THE 50% OFFER. We only paid $300 per person deposit. However, I booked a room for my grandmother, and she had to pay the full $600. Our prices are . . .

At about 7:45 I looked to modify my existing 2010 reservation made on board (to get the 10% discount) to the 8/23 Alaska. Looking at 10A I saw that 5524 (secret porthole) was available for $4042 (2A2K). When I tried to update to 5520 I lost the room and no other SPH were available. So, I booked the least expensive outside for about $600 more. Ugh.

I kept trying to modify, looking for a SPH to re-appear. At 8:24 it happened and I was able to get 5524 (again). Whew.

I'm glad you got the room you wanted!

Why not just book it as a new ressie to get your cabin and then transfter it to DU and have them correct it/apply the OBC from your OBB, etc?
