I see the Priceline Nazi is at it again on the BFT boards. Someone posted all the requirements for help with a bid. They were given a reply that they had enough experience to do it themselves without any help. After the results were posted, they get criticized for bidding too high.

Some people just bask in being able to belittle others.

No bids for you!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: No milk for them either! :rotfl: :rotfl: I totally agree that some people are just pleased as punch to be able to one up someone else and that's sad really, I just thought that the "no bids for you" was too funny.

Kelly (who loves biddingfortravel.com but hasn't been on the site for months due to not having a trip in the works :( )

Priceline Nazi - that's funny!!!! :rotfl:

I don't post my winning trips on there anymore because I got flamed for not using their link - I used the link from creations rewards so I could get points - OH NO!!

I do love to search that board to see what everyone is getting though.

I just got a GREAT price on a RESORT in San Antonio, Texas for $62.00/night, whereas the lowest price on their website was $149.00/night for the same time - I love Priceline!!!

It's too bad, it could be a really great site if it weren't for the unpleasantness of the administrator. The site depends on information sharing, and if people are afraid to share their bids because they don't want to be insulted or belittled or reprimanded like a third grader, then we don't know what bids are being rejected and accepted in the market.

I also use BetterBidding.com.

betterbidding, just by browsing the forum, i can tell is far more friendly. both have great info (i think BFT might be a little bit above BB for that) but when itcomes to feeling welcome, BB all the way.

dturner, was your win for the Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio? Do you mind if I ask what dates this was for? I was considering bidding for the last weekend of October but the lowest web rate is $185 so that indicates that the Priceline rate would be slightly higher....maybe $80-85. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no it was the Radisson - I also wanted the Hyatt but for the weekend I wanted Oct. 21-24 there is a convention at the Hyatt with over 600 people (I look at the convention calendar for San Antonio before I bid) so I knew going in that I probably wouldn't get the Hyatt this time - I did get the Hyatt in March for $42.00/night the weekend Sea World opened - March 6-7 - that's a nice place!!

We've been to the Radisson before so I know what to expect, not as nice as the Hyatt but still good since it's across the street from Sea World.

Good luck - hope you get what you want.

Thanks dturner. I've gotten the Hyatt twice through Priceline (I think $70-something and $50-something). I wouldn't mind trying the Radisson either but this trip my son has his heart set on the Lazy River at the Hyatt. We've unsure of our plans at this time - might just have to book it outright.

Bidding for Travel. The administrator can be a witch ...with a B most of the time.

what's BFT?

www.biddingfortravel.com

I agree that the admin over there is nasty. I've posted a few times and of course did it "wrong" so I never posted again. I do browse sometimes, but I prefer better bidding's site.

I do remember reading that "Cheryl" posts on this board.

Wow, I had to check this out just for curiosity's sake.

She really does seem like a piece of work! What's with her fanatical obesession with making people use her link? I'm sure she gets something out of it, but she's awfully rabid. Yikes!!!

When I was looking into priceline for hotels last summer, I did a little reading on BFT. I only had to read a few posts by the admin before thinking "WTH is this person's problem?"
So I went elsewhere and found betterbidding, which was far more friendly.

I go there to check things out about once a year, but I do not like her attitude at all. She is sooooo condescending. I understand that she may get frustrated for being asked the same questions over and over, but why offer someone help only to be gruff with them when they ask for it?

I will go to see what hotels and what prices are showing up. But I refuse to post and will not "support" the site by using her links.

Wow! What a royal you know what! What is this all-important "link" she is talking about? $40 a night sounds pretty dang good to me, what is she griping about??

I went to the site a few times, but asked a question about the Priceline Age limit and never got an answer. I find the site layout to be awful and it's just too much of pain to deal with following all the different "read me" stuff.

WOW!! I did it wrong being a first timer so I just stick with better bidding. They are really welcoming there and very helpful!

The Sushatrix strikes again (a pet name given to her by members of Flyer Talk after she threw a temper tantrum in a sushi restaurant).

She has a fabulous site but unfortunately she scares people away (and it's not even Halloween yet).

I loved the battles her and BeverlyLynn (may she rest in peace) used to get into prior to Sheryl being banned from the DIS.

I went to check out the link. What does she mean by "I don't mind helping you when a strategy isn't obvious but this one was about as cut and dried as you could ever hope for." ??? I don't get it. Durrrrrrrrr me.
