Priceline Express Deals

The way things seem to be going, I REALLY expected a July and August room drop by now.
Priceline never fails to not do what I expect. :D

FWIW:

Anyone thinking about booking those June Sports Priceline Express deals, there are a couple of codes out there through Rakuten right now to get either an additional 5% or 10% off Express Deals.

(Note: there is also a $316 AK Lodge Savannah View Express deal in June, the ONLY day I could get it to appear was starting on June 11 and searching for 2 days.)

* You have to Click through from the Rakuten Priceline page for the codes to work
* You HAVE TO manually add the code in checkout (after the click through above)
* You have to be signed in to PL to even add the code

The 5% off code is: RMN7HT524
10% off is: SUMMER10

I believe at least one of those, if not both expire on 5/31 so you have to book soon.
REMEMBER EXPRESS DEALS ARE NON REFUNDABLE.

Comparison: On a day in June where Sports is $92, using the 10% off code gets you the room net $107.87 after all taxes and fees.
Disney's price for the same day using their current discount would cost $173.66.

Replying to my own post.

It is now May 20th and I want to report that there are still AS Sports rooms available via PL Express Deals for June 2-8 and 23-29.

They also have regular (9 percent off) rooms and that tells me that Disney is still trying to fill rooms and we are just a few weeks away from the arrival dates.

In a way I feel this is kind of crazy!
I think it seems kinda crazy too!
I’m guessing on-site bookings are looking soft? If so, they may do the ‘ole “take rooms out of inventory” trick to make bookings look stronger.

I'm on Priceline right now and see a box to the left that says something along the lines of "Call our agents to see if you could save 20% or more by talking to us vs. booking online". Has anyone done this and saved more money?

Has anyone booked a package through Priceline for hotel and airfare? I was poking around Priceline yesterday and it appeared the rooms are greatly discounted if you do this. I’m going to sit down Sunday and do some Disney math
Hi, I have booked this before but not for Disney. I've tried, in fact, to do it but never found a deal when I was going to Orlando. (My successful hotel+airfare was Detroit to Nuremberg, Germany, btw, which is a very expensive flight with little competition so no reason for discounts... but Priceline came through with a deal that made the hotel basically free.)

Thanks for the info everyone! I went ahead and did the express deal for All Star Sports. We are actually moving near Disney and needed a hotel for the time we are down there for walk-throughs and closing.

Port Orleans Riverside is there as well for that week, also half price! We’re not there till July 27th, hopefully more deals will drop.

Running some random Priceline checks today I noticed a hidden deal for a 5-star resort in Bonnet Creek going for $152 - which is way cheap for the Waldorf.

Waldorf has historically been the only 5* 8-guest resort in BC.

After looking at other discrepancies, I realized that Priceline has increased the star rating of Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek to now be a 5*! The resort fee went up with it to match the Waldorf at $56.25/night too.

I've updated my resort matcher to reflect the changes. Still easy to tell Waldorf and Signia apart by looking at review counts. Waldorf is in the 400s, while Signia is in the 1,200s.

Edit to Add: The Four Seasons is the 3rd 5-Star resort in Bonnet Creek, but has a 9-Guest rating so stands on its own in search results.

Good news / Meh News

Looks like Hotwire has re-added all of the Disney resorts back onto their system - were completely MIA for awhile, couldn’t even load the generic resort pages.

AND there are a bunch of hidden deals showing in the app in August at least. However, they are all 11% off hidden deals, which makes them essentially the same price after fees as a non-hidden booking.

Here’s hoping they are getting it set up for actual discounts.

**Priceline Change for Art of Animation**

As of my last check, AoA is now a 3-star **9-guest** rated resort, had sat at 8.9 or so for a very long time.

Review count is currently at 299, so 1 more and it will look like "300 ratings" in hidden deals - if it EVER shows up in one again.

Back in June (a few messages up the thread) I posted that there were hidden deals for Disney resorts appearing on the Hotwire app - BUT they were all 11% off deals, which not only would end up costing the same as a refundable non-hidden deal, they could even cost a little more.

Just wanted to point out that I'm seeing those again - and since that last post Hotwire has been having a meltdown where many resorts have the WRONG star ratings. An example from today - Pop Century is appearing as a 2.5* resort in both hidden and non-hidden deals. (At least it is consistent in both, but still might be confusing to the newer hidden deal searchers.)

Does the Hyatt Regency MCO ever come up on Hotwire or Priceline? I thought it did many years ago when we used to cruise and needed the airport hotel for a pre-night stay.

Things look so different now on those sites.

I see it now on Priceline mid-Sept for a non-hidden deal, so would have to assume at some point it might show up in hidden deals. Although, my gut tells me not too often since I think they do well enough with regular airport traffic, especially when there are weather meltdowns.

FWIW, if you play the points game at all and have Chase Ultimate Rewards, you can transfer to Hyatt and get a pretty decent redemption there. I usually book an overnight stay at that hotel before an early flight so we can just easily roll downstairs to security.

On a day with rates in the low to mid-$200s, it takes 12,000 Hyatt points to book a 2 Queen room or just under 2 cents per point.

If you find a high price day like one I just spotted in January, the points value is even better: Room price was $451 after tax, points = 15K, so 3 cents per point!

Does anyone think Priceline will have hidden deals for any Disney hotels in September? Did they ever show up for July and August? I booked all star sports thru Disney but would love to save some money through Priceline!

This isn’t necessarily a prediction but I had a last minute deal at Pop in September a couple of years ago. So hopefully for you, it shows again 🤞

Nothing new appeared after the June deals passed.

Fingers crossed, but really not looking good at this point for September for Disney resorts, in past years they did not usually drop last minute, drops tended to appear 4-6 weeks out at least. But with Priceline, anything is possible.

There were some good Swolphin deals (more for Dolphin than Swan) so may be worth looking for those.

My old Hotwire Resort Matcher Google sheet has had several requests to access it over the last month, not sure if the link to it was somehow shared somewhere around here - but it has not been maintained since the last batch of actual Hotwire hidden deals for Disney resorts ended in 2021.

Just want to say: That Google sheet is no more.

I left it in place way back just in case, but added big fat text to it saying it was no longer maintained.
Even so, people still keep requesting access. So, I've backed it up and deleted it.

If Hotwire ever comes back with actual Disney resort hidden deals that aren't just 11% off (thus making them the same price as regular bookings but NONREFUNDABLE), I will probably create a new matcher tool using the same service for my current Priceline matcher.

I already have the structure set up, but as I mentioned a few posts back in the thread, Hotwire is having a meltdown and has many resorts with incorrect star ratings so I'm not going to work on anything until that is resolved.

I thought revenge travel was over. If that is true it doesn't seem like they would be filling all the rooms if attendance isn't greater than it was 2019 when it was a lot easier to get killer hidden deals. I got the dolphin and pofq for a out 100 a night in the before times. I thought they offered hidden deals to fill up the hotels or now are they leaving sections vacant? There are slightly fewer perks for staying on site these days so it seems like there would be even less demand for onsite hotels given the same attendance numbers. Just wondering out loud. I know hotel prices everywhere are up but why the drop in hidden deals? I was speculating if it just isn't worth it to them to have full occupancy at reduced prices or maybe attendance is actually over that of 2019?
