I'm curious. I've read some pretty good deals that have been made using Priceline/Travelocity. I'd like to know if you :sad2: folks obtained these hotels by specifying them or did you get them by bidding on the area/star rating and were fortunate on the results? Also the best time to offer on a hotel for Oct.?

The really good deals come from Priceline's "name your own price" section. You cannot specify a hotel, but you can get a pretty good idea of what you might get by reading carefully the info at biddingfortravel.com. You have to be willing to accept any hotel with the same star rating in the same area before you bid, since once you win a bid your credit card is charged instantly. I've had great luck with them in the resort category, WDW area (in the past, have stayed at Gaylord Palms, Marriott World Center, Hilton at Downtown Disney, etc.), and have also gotten the Peabody in the 4 star category, Universal/Sea World area.

About what would you bid on a four star?

over the years - I have stayed at the Hilton for 60 to $65 per night... We have also been at Gaylord Palms and the MOWC for $83 to $85/ night. I read biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com....

So you can't even read the board? Sheryl does ban people, but they usually post first! Can you PM or email Sheryl or one of the other mods and ask why you are banned? Maybe it's an ISP issue. I'll PM you with Sheryl's email address.

Can you read the board? Or are you just not allowed to post? Are you on AOL?

I just found a thread about getting strange "banned" messages on BFT when I clicked on the "Contact Administrator" link at the bottom of BFT. The link to the thread comes up in your email client. I would copy it here, but part of the URL is banned on the DIS :lmao:.

Don't email Sheryl until you read the thread above! You may not be banned after all :).
