I was thinking of a cruise for November 2005. Does Disney raise its prices on the same cruise - same category over time?

What I'm trying to ask if I look at Nov 5 cat 6, is there a possiblity that the price will be different 4 months from now (which is how long it will take to convince my husband:p )?

I know there is an early booking discount, but how early?

Has anyone booked a cruise and seen the price go up months later for the same cruise?

The price increase for my cruise came about 4 months before the cruise.

I booked my cruise in October 2003 for April 2005, it has gone up at least $2000 since then (last time I checked was in April 2004). I believe that how fast it goes up depends on how quickly it books. It is an increase every time a certain percentage sells. I don't know if all cruises increase that quickly and that much, this one is during Spring break so I would imagine demand is highter than others. HTH

DCL raises the price of a category as that category fills up. Predicting when that would happen is difficult. The price of our 4/2004 cruise went up over $2000 from when we booked it.

With DCL you're always better off to book as far in advance as possible. You don't have to pay anything other than the deposit until 60 days prior to the cruise.

We are going on the Dec. 16, 2004 Land/Sea package. We started looking in the middle of January. By the time we booked it on February 10 (after the tax check came), the price had gone up $200. In April it went up another $600. And since then it sold out.

Don't know if this helps? Pixie Dust to you to get your DH off the ledge.

If you are talking about the November 6th Land/Sea aboard the Wonder, you can be assured that this will be a popular cruise...It's the second annual Freewheelin' Disney Adventure sponsored by Deb Wills and others and will likely be full sooner than the ordinary (is there such a thing?) Disney cruise. Right now the cost of this cruise through the Cruising Co, Etc. is really low to attract participants but will undoubtedly go up as the staterooms that have been set aside (that's how they did it last year) are reserved.

The more rooms DCL sells for a sailing the higher the price goes. We got a "real time" look at the process on May 5 when the California and the repo cruises were anounced.

We booked 3 people in a cat 9 room on the evening of May 5. VerandaMan booked the same senario early in the day. His price was about $600 less expensive than mine. Checking the price daily it went up by $500 to $1000 per day. The final price was well over $2000 more than what we paid for the trip.

Good luck convincing DH that a cruise is a great vacation. Try and catch the travel channel show on DCL and get the DCL planning DVD (or video - the DVD is MUCH better than the video)
