Where to begin! I thought writing a Pre-trip report may just help quell some of my building excitment!
My cast of Characters!
:earsgirl:me- Tif-32, Mommy, Er Nurse, Disney addict as of May of 2006!
:eeyore: DH-33 (almost); a very wonderful Daddy, a true hero-Iraq Vet, and from that has some real issues with crowds:crazy2: :crowded:
:flower: DD almost 7 (in just a few days) a daddysgirl who I wish was a princess: but is more like a :moped: :joker: :donald: lol she is so wild and crazy, I do not know where she gets it!!
We will be staying at Port of Orleans Riverside 6/15 to 6/22 :thumbsup2

Lets begin with a little back story to include a brief TR from May last year because it definetly leads into this years trip...

My WHOLE LIFE my parents had told me "One of these days we are going to take you kids to Disney World" OK now in fairness my parents would normally be drunk when they told us that, and when your parents are bad alcoholics, there usually isn't alot of extra money for family vacations, whats left over goes for more alcohol. Not that I was in rags and being fed bread and butter or anything, my parents did spoil us with clothes and toys to make up for guilt I think; but my young childhood was very awful without going into too much detail. My parents sobered up when I was 12. My mom even went on several years later to become a drug and alcohol abuse counselor to help others. :goodvibes The Disney talk still continued, but then my dad had several heart attacks and a disabling injury which quashed all hopes of ever having a real family vacation. My parents just divorced a couple of years ago. My Mom is now remarried to a great guy, my dad still lives near me, my mom about an hour away. My DH also came from a pretty rocky home life, his dad left when he was young and never really had anything to do with him after that. Not even when we sent him wedding invitaitons or pictures of his grandchild. :sad2: But his experiences turned him into a wonderful doting husband and father.
DH and I have been married for 10 years! We met out "cruising". Now if you don't know what "cruising" is....well basically it's just driving around. Here in hicksville Illinois that what we did for fun on Fri and Sat nights....Yaaay! LOL! We cruised the main "strip" in town in our cars and generally polluted the environment. :rolleyes2 Like I said..Hicksville. We fell in love :lovestruc and were married within five months of meeting each other :lovestruc We live in a town of population maybe almost 3000 people. Yeah we really only have one stoplight.
Since we were married DH(Tim) had been in the Illinois Army National Guard. In late September of 2004, we found out he would be leaving towards the end of October to train to go to Iraq and be leaving for Iraq in December. :faint: Let me tell you, I was scared to death. Having him leave was the hardest thing ever. I honestly wanted to like shoot him in the foot or something so he wouldn't have to go. But all guns aside, I did what I had to do and did the supportive wife thing instead. I learned what it felt like to be kind of a single mom and not have DH here to help out. I kept up and graduated through nursing school while my DD cried a lot asking when can Daddy come home. He learned what it felt like to live in 135 degree heat and have people shoot at you. He learned what it was like to have children wearing rags and no shoes to beg you for food. He got to protect people so they could vote. I graduated nursing school and I played around with the idea of going to Disney when he came home, we deserved to celebrate big time. I sent him boxes every week. He waited in line for at least an hour to call home every other day. When I didn't hear from him for a week or two at a time, I knew they were out on missions and he couldn't call. I worried. He got blown up. Yep thats right he got blown up. 3 1/2 weeks before they were supposed to come home. Heres how that one played out.
Phone rings, holy cr@p its 7:45 am, we overslept :crazy2: , DD answers the phone and starts talking..its Daddy!! and she talks to him for a couple of minutes... Me- stressing because we overslept and have to leave for school in about 20 minutes....:crazy2: I get on the phone, Honey we overslept so we need to hurry or can we e-mail you later or something....silence um hunny seriously we are in a hurry, I am sorry but I must of forgot to set the alarm...silence "Tif we went out a mission last night." OK, I say tapping my foot. "We hit a bomb." Me-Ok hun but really we are in a hurry. (Now in my defense this had happened MULTIPLE times, and there was never any problems, everything/everyone had been fine, they shut their phones off for a few days so things couldn't get exagerrated to people at home and gossip a going, but I didn't think about that last part. I still am in a hurry ya know and getting dressed at the same time I am talking to him.) He says "I am in a hospital in Balad" Ok time stops, the whole world feels like it stops, my heart and stomach plops out somewhere on the floor, I go into the bathroom and shut the door. He tells me they had gotten information from another Iraqi indicating who had set a bomb earlier in the week that had killed a couple of American civilian contractors near their base, so they had set up a task force to go and make arrests, my husband was driving he lead vehicle in the dark using night vision and they rolled over a buried IED (improvised explosive device) I of course am freaking out, asking him if he is ok. He is, his injuries are all to his right leg, other then some cuts and bruises everywhere else and he can't hear out of one ear. He has already had one emergency surgery to his leg. I then ask about everyone else. My husband starts to cry. I had never heard my husband cry before. I start to cry. He tells me that the person sitting next to him, a good friend of his was killed. We both cry, I know his wife well, our daughters are the same age. He has to get off the phone, he begged the nurses to let him call home so he could call me before the Army did. I no sooner got off the phone when it rang again, Hello Mrs. Armywife this is the Department of...... I am so glad he called me first.

Ok on that depressing note, I have to go wake up DD for school, but I promise to wirte some more after I get her dropped off..with some definetly happier stories, I promise.

Ok so Dd is dropped off at school..... now where was I.
Ok so after that bombshell of news, DH was transferred to Germany then back home to the US and we finally got to go and be with him, several surgeries and skin grafts and a few months later he was finally able to come home for good that February 2006. :goodvibes
So after he had been home a few weeks I brought up Disney again. I wanted to go, DD wanted to go, DH wanted to go but was also a bit reluctant but wanted to go at the same time. He was concerned about how much walking he would be doing and the crowds. After his experiences DH still has problems with his legs, it swells up alot and is painful towards the end of a normal day plus he really isn't as tolerant and patient as he used to be. Alot of it relates to PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) like he gets very anxious if he has to have his back to the door in a restaruant etc. Things have gotten better as time has went on though, but those things and experiences were all pretty fresh to him at that point. Do some talking here and there about it and decide to go for it so we go through a local travel agent and book for the first week of May (2006) She signs us up for park hoppers with water park and more with the dining plan and plane tickets. She sets us up with one ADR at the Garden Grill to have lunch with Mickey and friends. Sets us with Disneys Magical Express. I am thinking how awesome is that, they pick us up at the airport and bring us back! WOWZERS! So we get everyhting all set up and then I start doing a little digging around on the net to find out a little bit more about stuff to do on our trip. :rotfl2:
Then I discovered THE DIS!!!!:disrocks:
Thinking back about how uninformed and clueless I was :rotfl2:
I discovered about a month before our trip that I had a lot to do :p
From the Dis I learned about allearsdotnet and Tour Guide Mike. I promptly signed up for that and loved it and felt it made a huge difference on our trip. Between these two fabulous sites for research, I lived on the computer it felt like. Whenever I was off work and had some free time, I was constantly trying to find out info. Now I will say, I didn't have everything down to a science. There is so much I have learned since our last trip that I plan on doing or doing different on our upcoming trip. The time I had in a month to plan was not nearly long enough, but it was WAY better than going in blind like we almost did.
And I definelty wish that I had went with a more Disney experienced travel agent!! Hello....1 ADR??!!?? She actually told us that we could just find places down there to walk into. (Now I know a lot of people have no probs with this, but I knew from reading that this would not be the way for us to go) So after some reading I made some more ADR's..all character meals except for the night we were planning to do Fantasmic and we booked Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. So we had also added, in addition to the Garden Grill and H&V, Donalds Breakfastosaurus, Crystal Palace, Akerhaus in Norway with the princesses. So we were getting all set for our 5night/6day trip (and pretty overwhelmed at the same time!!)

Stay tuned for more!

We were flyingout on a Monday around 11am. On Saturday and Sunday we were in Chicago for my DD's state championsip tumbling meet. She woke up that Sunday before her competition with a temp of 101.2:worried: Well bad mom that I am, I sent DH to a convenience store to get some childrens tylenol and let her compete anyway. I just couldn't not let her even try to place at the state level and make it to Nationals. Well she didn't do well and didn't place in the top 10, but that was OK, at least she was able to try. Which then left me worried about her being sick for our trip to Disney. Her throat was read and she just generally didn't feel well, her ears were not bothering her so that Monday morning I was on the phone with her Doctor who called us in an antibiotic that we picked up on our way to the airport. She had been sick at least once a month for the past 3 months with tonsillitis and normally responded well, within a day, to the antibiotic. :worried: So yes the horrible mother that I am still took my sick kid to Disney. Horrible mother that I am had decided to not purchase trip insurance. :rolleyes2 By the way DD continued on with the tonsillitis monthly til horrible mother that I am had those nasty tonsills yanked later that summer. And yes that is educated nurse talk..nasty tonsills yanked :rotfl2:
Anyway..steering herself back on track....
Anyway apparently I developed some sort of anxiety related to flying. When just me and my DD flew to see DH in the hospital I did a little OK. That was my first plane trip, it was just me and DD so I knew I had to be strong. This time I guess I felt more able to let my anxiety show through a little because I was a bit more nervous for some reason. It's just the takeoff and landing I have a problem with. I really don't recall how those fingernail marks got allover Dh's arm. Probably because I was near passing out from hyperventilating. I apparently was freaked out during landing because when DH told me to just relax, I apprently said, a bit too loudly, Relax?? Relax?? How do you expect me to relax when we are hurdling to the earth at thousands of miles an hour" The reason I think I said this a bit too loudly was because the entire 10 rows around us started cracking up laughing. Other than that the plane ride was pretty uneventful. Well except for the lady sitting across the aisle from me got nasty to us. DD had brought her portable DVD player and had her headphones on watching the Disney planning video. You know the one with Dave the bench rider. Well I notice that the kid behind us was leaned up between the seats watching the little screen, so not thinking too much about it I told DD to take her headphones off so he could hear it too. I already knew from the airport that they were going to WDW also. I didn't think it was too loud, I was sitting right next to DD and couldn't really hear it much. Well apparently the sound carried right over to the Ursula look a like and she told me "you know they invented headphones for a reason" Errm ok wicked witch, I can think of about 10 nicer ways to say that it was bothersome to you and I would have apologized for inconveniencing you, there was no need to be rude. So I just plugged her headphones back in and the boy behind us went back to being bored in his seat.

Anyway we landed at MCO and started looking for Magical Express. I will admit I was a bit disappointed once we got on the ground at MCO and started our taxi to the gate. And then we got off the plane and it was just...well just an airport. I guess that the Orlando airport isn't too concerned about spreading the Disney Magic to us. LOL! But we did find our way to those wonderful people all dressed up with their Mickey hands on and that was pretty magical to me!!! We boarded our ME bus and it left just after we sat down and it wasn't too crowded at all! Plenty of room to pick seats together. It was people staying at All Stars and POP. The driver was great and started a competition to see who could shout for their resort the loudest. My DD didn't know what to think about being able to be loud on a bus!
I was entranced the whole way out the window, looking for anything that could clue me into we were almost there! I was about to die of excitement!
We finally arrived at POP and I was practically jumping up and down. When we got in, I pointed DH and DD to the area to watch movies/color while we waited. DH appeared perplexed that I knew this little corner of the lobby exsisted. We check in only waiting about 5 minutes and I was so impressed with myself the Cm was explaining the park hoppers to me and the dining plan, and she basically told me everything I already knew! I felt one step ahead already!
Here are some pics of POP to temporarily end with!!!

When I get back from the store I will add what we did our first night and what characters we met first!
Edited because apparently i posted the same picture three times!! I will also try to learn how to resize my future pics, sorry about that!

Subscribing! Great report so far.

Please tell your DH personally, from me, that I appreciate his service to our country.

Can't wait to read more!

Wow. You just brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's experiences but am so happy that he made it home safely, for good...thanks to him and to your family for his service. On a happier note, I love your TR and can't wait to hear more.

Thanks you Courtney, we appreciate your kind words! Thanks for reading, you have a great report going as well! I am really enjoying it!

:) Ok in case you haven't noticed by now I tend to be a bit of a talker so I apologize for my posts being so longwinded, but hey thats just me!

So after we check out POP and find our room. 50's section, last room on the ground floor right next to the lake. It was a bit of a way from everything but that was very good for us! We never had anyone walking by our room and we never herd anything from any of our neighbors. We slept very soundly every night!

So we got cleaned up in our room and decided to go to the MK. I had planned for us to just kind of roam, check things out and watch Spectro and Wishes.
We boarded our very UNcrowded bus...how convenient the transportation is thought...and we were headed to the MK!!! I could hardly stand it! I was awestruck the whole way there, spotting the Tower of Terror, and Spaceship Earth, then finally I caught a glimpse of the castle!! We were finally here!! Went through security, got our fingers read..DD was incredibly impressed by this BTW, and walked under the train station.
It looked like every picture I had ever seen, like everything I had ever imagined. The CM's all dressed the Main St. part, CM's holding huge boquets of balloons, people milling about while the castle loomed in the distance. I cried like a baby. DH hugged me tight and DD started to cry. Turns out she thought we had to leave, she thought I was sick or something. :confused3 So i explained that I was crying because I was SOOOO happy! Oh, OK, now didn't you say I could have one of those strollers we seen in the movie. LOL Yep dure did, so we went back and rented the stroller and found out about the multiple day rental and went that route. DD was quite happy to be getting in her chariot. Turns out to be her most favotitest part of the whole trip I think :rotfl2: she LOVED being pushed around everyday. :lmao:

I hate to end it here, but unfortunately, I am falling asleep on my keyboard!:faint: I have got to get to bed, but hopefully I can add some more tommorow!!
Thanks to anyone who is reading my babbling :) :goodvibes

Well I ended up reading "just one more trip report" and feel a little more awake so I thought I would add the pics I was going to post before I hit the sack for the night!

Here is the first characters we met! We happened to be wandering through the Fronteirland area and spied Woody and Jesse hanging out all alone in the Diamond Horseshoe, so we headed in! I think we were all a little awestruck and didn't quite know what to do or say, but it was so fun anyway!!
DISNEY009.jpg

Just a little backtracking (because I tend to do that) while we were making our way down Main Street, DH asked why all these people were sittign along the curb. It was about 7:45 pm. I told him they were waiting for the 9:00 Spectromagic parade. He freaked out a little saying we better get to finding somewhere to watch. Now I had some TGM advice on where to go and when to go to get some nice viewing spots, so I wasn't too concerned. He trusted me and we went and walked around some more and then got some snacks then went to the viewing area I had read about. Ok also let me say that I got one of the infamous turkey legs. I really wasn't prepared for how messy they actually were. I could never really figure out how to eat the thing. Also I thought it tasted more like ham than turkey which was a bit odd to me so I really didn't eat much of it. DD had popcorn and DH didn't eat anything. I think he was a bit overwhelmed. Oh and guess what else, this is about the time we found out that they do not sell Pepsi products on WDW property. What the heck?!?!?! :crazy2: :p Me for a week with no Mountain Dew?!?!? Huge Prob with no way to fix it :crazy2: :offtopic:
OK steering myself back on course.
So we are sitting on this planter box right next to the street with DD's chariot of a stroller parked right in front of us waiting for Spectro to start. Prime location, thanks TGM! :thumbsup2 Well about 5 minutes later this gentleman prob in his late 50's comes up and sits on the sideways part of the planter, we strike up a conversation. He tells us that his DW and him travel to WDW about 3-4 times a year, we share it is our first time. blah blah blah, yack yack yack. So then his DW comes up. She looks at him, looks at us, and says to the man..."what are they doing sitting there" :confused3 Uhhh what?? I am thinking. He says, "well sweetie they were here when I got here" She gave me the most absolute evil look ever and says to her hubby, But this is OUR spot. Hmmmm interesting, these must be great seats because she is definetly ticked off that we were here first lol!! :rolleyes2 We are waiting for Spectro to start and she is generally making all these huffing and puffing noises and complaining to DH about how she just will not possibly be able to see anything, etc... and basically getting on my last nerve, I want to give her a piece of mind, but instead I take a deep breath and offer her my seat. I go and sit on the curb next to DD in her stroller. Now I know you all are worshipping me and my angelic ways :worship: but before you get too excited I may just have to mention that I took a lot of satisfaction realizing that through the whole parade everytime the breeze blew it sent DD's giant Minnie balloon smacking into huffypuffy lady's head and generally ticking her off more while I pretended not to notice it. :rolleyes1
:lmao:
I am glad that I decided to sit next to DD, because let me tell you this is where she first really got excited about anything! She just went crazy! Absolutely loved it! As did DH and I, we thought it was spectacular!!!! I am so glad I got to see her face during it, she yelled to all the characters and I thoguht the interaction was great, it felt like they were all waving right at us! But with the way DD was yelling to all of them, I think they must of been cuz I know they had to have heard her!! Not the best spectro pics ever posted, but hey I never said I was a pro at this!

Ok obviously I don't have that pesky resize thing down yet, sorry about that! And seriously I am going to bed now!!! Really, I am not going to check out another trip report! ;)

O.K., so you just posted to my TR and I thought you sounded so sweet and our trips would overlap so I told myself "I have to check this lady out " ;) I absolutely fell in love with your trip report so far. I was reading it out loud to "my Tim" and we both couldn't believe your hero of a husband, his story and how lucky we are to have men like him protecting our freedom. By the way, my Tim is sitting here and wanted me to tell you "he has nothing on your Tim" :lmao: What a deserving family to have a magical vacation. I feel like kindred spirits, we have so much in common- we'll be there at the same time, both have Tim's, both Disney obsessed, and both Mt. Dew obsessed (oh yeah, I sure am and have the same feelings you do about it not being on property :rotfl:
I can't wait to read more and hope we bump into one another, looking for a picture of you though, how will I recognize you. Come on now, my face is plastered all over the Dis so everyone will know who I am, time for you to do the same ;) . Can't wait to read more, although I know it will come quickly because by the times of your postings your obsession runs deep like me and you just can't get enough of the Dis!!!!

:lmao: :goodvibes That is sooo funny because looking back through all of my Disney pics, I realized that I have one stinkin pic of myself in WDW!! Can you believe that:confused: :headache: Its a good thing I have that one pic or no one would ever know I was there! I think I will have to relenquish some control of the camera this time  Which will be hard to do after seeing so many pics on here and getting so inspired on things I want to take pics of!!! Luvin your pretrip report to, you guys are a crack up and seem like a super sweet family!

OK OK where was I??
LOL:) Sorry but I have been super busy. We bought a new car...Ford Freestyle, its a crossover minivan/SUV thing and I am LUVIN IT! 3 rows of seats like a minivan, looks more sporty like an SUV! We had DD's birthday, the big #7. We took 10 little girls( ) to Build a Bear and had a build a bear party. OMG did you know they have little Disney type outfits there?? Mackenzie built an Ariel bear, it had a mermaid out fit, red wig and all..TOO CUTE! :cutie: Plus work has been crazy. I worked 14 1/2 hours last night. :scared1: I work like 3 nights together, have a day off work a night, have a day off and then work 2 more nights off work but then I have 6 glorious days off !! It's like a minivacation! The work part is a killer but I love having so many days off in a 2 week schedule:cloud9: I work 12 hour night shift and DH Tim works days so our DD isn't really with a sitter much. We have a high school girl that comes to the hosue 3 times in two weeks for about 2 hours each time to get Mackenzie to school. It works out good for all of us.
OK...focus... sorry like I said I like to ramble on and on!
Plus I know you all are thinking "when is she going to stop babbling about last year and get onto the pretrip report"?? Soon, I promise. From the ending last time.......
We loved Spectro immensely and went to Caseys to grab a snack for spectro. We really hadn't had real food since leaving for the airport and grabbed McDonalds at 10am. MMMMMMMM Caseys. That was some good stuff! DH and I just had hotdogs, DD had the mini corn dog nugget things. What I will say is that I don't recommend trying to go to Caseys right after spectro has ended. :scared1: That was sooo crowded!!!
So we decided to go to the end of Main St to watch Wishes near the train station to try and get out quicker. Here is where I should mention again that I am a horrible Mom because I know my DD is teriffied of Fireworks. :sad1: But I was really thinking the Disney Magic and being set to music and all would help with that. Lets just say I was wrong and leave it at that. So DH had to carry our crying princess princess: clear to the Pop bus stop which was no easy feat at all. Once we got on the bus and it started driving away, she was more content to watch the fireworks from there. *sigh*
We got back to POP and DH was starving so we got a little to eat in the food court. When we were almost finished I could tell when Wishes and Illuminations and everything had finished because it all at once became a mob scene. We got the heck outta there. :scared1:
Went back to our room and ready for bed. Now when we first checked in I thought the beds were going to be way to hard to get any sleep on. Lets just once again say I was wrong. When I woke up in the morning I had not moved at all. The covers on the other side of the bed were perfect.
Ahhhh yes...the covers on the other empty side of the bed:guilty: DD slept with DH. LOL she alternated taking turns sleeping with both of us. WE never got to sleep together. But ya know what, those beds at POP are pretty small so, I didn't really mind my nights alone and having the bed all to myself. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
We had brought the little boxes of cereal, cereal bars, pop tarts etc for breakfasts to make the mornings go faster and then we headed to the bus stop to head back to the MK!! We got tehre in plenty of time to catch the opening show.
DISNEY026.jpg

DISNEY028.jpg

I thought the opening show was awesome!!!! I was so excited and could hardly wait to finally check out some of the rides!
We basically followed the Tour Guide Mike plan. We got so much done in that first morning than I coud have imagined! TGM!!:thumbsup2 Dh finally relented that the last month I had spent on TGM website had definetly paid off! hereis a pic of Mackenzie and Tim on the teacups!
DISNEY038.jpg

When we went to Toontown after doing all of Fantasyland except for Philharmagic we went to Barnstormer. We barely missed the first group that got to ride with Goofy! 2 people ahead of us and then us. All was good though because Mackenzie like to watch Goofy riding his ride.

***CONFESSION TIME***
I am a ride chicken.
I have never riden a roller coaster. I am afraid of heights. I get nauseous on the merry go round.
DD liked Barnstormer. Me..umm it made me a little nervous, I was suprised at how fast it went!!:scared: LOL I am such a dork. (however for our upcoming trip I am vowing to not be such a chicken!!)
We went to the tent and got to meet the Princesses!! We met Aurora, Snow White and Cinderella!
DISNEY040.jpg

After going through all of that we tehn took the train back to Main Street to check out teh views fromt there. We then went to Crystal Palace where we had lunch ADR's. I loved the view of the castle from the Crystal Palace area.
DISNEY045.jpg

Mackenzie loved getting to meet the characters here.
DISNEY044.jpg

DISNEY042.jpg

Tim LOVED the food here. I am not a huge buffet fan to begin with, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable. We did have about a 15 minute wait past our ADR time. It was very crowded while waiting for a table though.
After lunch we went and did Philharmagic and Its A Small World. We though Philharmagic was so neat!! Mackenzie still talks about going to a "movie" where it smelled real!
After that we ewnt back to POP and swam for a while. It was very relaxing. We were going back to MK that evening and hopefully to watch Wishes!!
Thanks for reading!!!

Loving seeing Disney through your families eyes. I am glad you enjoyed Crystal Palace, we experienced it for the first time last year and it was incredible. A ride chicken huh?? Hope you make it past the Barnstormer as the trip goes on :lmao: , guess time will tell.
As for what you posted on my thread about the WL, just something to consider, if you move your trip (in future trips of course) to July-August (value season for resorts) or another value month and cut one night off your stay it is about the exact same price you are paying for the moderate in June. Just something to keep in the back of your brain when you fall in love with WL this summer ;) Can't wait to read more.
Lesley

Thanks for sharing the tip, because I plan on going to MVMCP next year......uhh just don't tell DH about this yet, he may just have a stroke. I think WL would be a great place to stay, I thought some of the pics of it looked beautiful last year decorated for Christmas. I really think you guys are going to like POFQ though. :thumbsup2 I have debated between there and POR soooo much!
It cracked me up in your TR what your Tim said when entering the Grand Floridian about definetly staying there sometime, because when we first entered the Grand Floridian, my DH was like OMG, you know we could definetly never stay here right?!?! LMAO! ....if only I could have gotten that ZFZ code to work hehehe!! It is so hard having champagne and caviar tastes on a beer and cheetos life ;)
As for the rides and see how brave I may or may not become.....well we will just have to wait and see!

Hi Tiffany,

Like Lesley, you sounded so sweet when you posted on my pre-trip thread, I couldn't wait to come read yours.

Wow! Your story of you and DH childhoods really touched my heart. You give him the biggest hug you can from another American who is very proud of the job he did. And then give yourself one. As a caregiver, I can image you are under appreciated most of the time.

Loved your report. Sounds like you are on your way to another great trip. Your daughter is a cutie, she is blessed with 2 great parents.

Hi...love your pre-pre-trippie/post-trippie. Its great! I found you from the June thread too. Maybe we will meet up in June??? :cool1:

:goodvibes Awww thanks so much! We feel very blessed with everything and everyone we have in our lives. I think when faced with problems like ours you can either be doomed to repeat the same mistakes or learn from them and do the exact opposite. We have definetly chosen the latter.
Your pretrip report tugged at my heart strings. In Oct. we are taking a short trip to WDW..me, my mom, and DD. I am so looking forward to our "girls trip" I think it will be very special!

Gotta say thanks to those who have started reading....it was getting awful lonely in here all by myself, especially since I tend to ramble on so much. :)
Oh something else we did that first day was catch Merlin at the Sorcer in the Stone show...he was funny, it was great. I was disappointed to hear this was no longer going to be going on!!

Mackenzie had been wanting to pull that sword since she seen it in the planning video!

Ok so we came back from MK and swam, took a very enjoyable nap and then headed back to the MK. We went to Tommorowland first since we hadn't been able to go there during the day. We did Buzz light year as a walk on and walk right on we did! No wait at all. Basically all of Tommorowland was like a ghost town, there was hardly anyone around. By the time we came out the sun was getting low and the lights were all being turned on. Let me tell you, I think that Tommorowland looks so cool and futuristic in the dark, much much better than in the daylight!:thumbsup2 We found the most amount of people over on the Indy Speedway, wait time was 20 minutes, spoiled as I was from the earlier morning success where we did not wait in lines, I found this totally unacceptable :rotfl: and decided to skip it. I hadn't read to many good reviews and Mackenzie was ticked she wouldn't be able to take a car out riding by herself anyway, I think she may have been planning on driving to the mall or something. Against my better judgment we went to Stich's Great Escape. I thought the preshow was pretty cute. As for the rest..:sad2: I didn't care for it. A lot of time in the dark, which kinda scared DD, she held my hand the entire time. She never freaked out or anything but she asked about 18 times when it was going to be over. And as for the burp...it was disgusting and caused me to react with my asthmatic coughing fit. We rode Buzz 2 more times, I wanted to check out some more of Tommorowland like Transit Authority or Carousel of Progress, but something from Fantasyland kept calling to DD....Dummmmbo, Dummmmmbo. LOL! She had to go for another ride! I opted out since it was one of those roundie round ones. :rolleyes1

We then went on Jungle Cruise...I wanted to do this one in the dark because I read it was much more realistic!!

Doesn't it look like the tiger is about ready to bite this woman's head off! :scared:

We all really enjoyed this ride!!!
We then explored Adventureland and rode the Magic Carpets....well you know who didn't ride :cool2: DD really liked the camel "spitting" on her. :rotfl:
I really wanted to ride Pirates of the Carribean pirate: but it was shut down for it's refurb :sad1: But thanks to TGM and the Dis :disrocks: I knew this ahead of time. Somewhere in there we had tried to eat at Columbia Harbor House, but it was closed :sad1: It was getting to be that magical Wishes time of 9:00 so we fought the crowds upstream Main St. and about the time we got to the train station Wishes was getting ready to start. I once again had to watch from the bus stop for a few minutes. :sad2: Very sad but it's OK, I know DD is really afraid of them. **hopefully this year!!**
We ate at POP food court again when we got back and were pleased with our choices. It was better than I thought it was going to be for a "food court". Defiently better than the one counter service place that compromises my local mall's "food court" :rotfl:
Next up..Epcot scary day!

Lovingthe pre/post trip report.

I come from a long line of military men in my life, My Dad being a vietnam vet, I have so much pride in our soldiers and If I could hug and thank every soldier that has served his/her country I would. Thank your Tim for me. The wives and mothers, deserve Kudos too for their strength to keep their families going. Anyway, looking forward to the next installment.

Great update, I've never done any of those rides in the dark. Our evenings at MK always seem to consist of eating, then staking out a place for the parades, watching the parades and heading out. Maybe we'll try some of those rides this year in the dark too. Great pic's and update, can't wait for more, wondering why Epcot is a "scary day"

All I can say first is: WOW! God bless you and your family! Thank you to Tim for his service!

Now I have to say that I'm jealous...I haven't figured out the whole picture thing yet...I will make that my mission before we leave.
