This may be a silly question but do the pressed penny machines accept Canadian change? I want to prep the money for my two girls but I want to make sure before I do it. TIA.

Pennies likely yes but quarters likely no. We have same issue. Can't get a roll of US quarters until we get in the States...hoping I can exchange a US ten for a roll at a bank in Calais Maine.

And then there is the one Pressed Penny that doesn't require any money(they even give you the Penny to put in the machine).:)

It is the Agent P Pressed Penny(the one on the right) and is only available as part of one of the France Missions in the Agent P World Showcase Adventure.:)

Thank you all so much! I will now have to be on the lookout for American change. Which will be difficult because Canada doesn't even deal with pennies anymore lol. My daughters will love that Agent P one! We were thinking of doing that in Epcot this time around too so that works out :)

It's actually a crime in Canada to mutilate or alter Canadian money in any way.

It is in the us too and it always wondered how these machines got around it
Thought maybe the penny was collected and a copper blank was spit out in its place

It is legal for coins in the USA as long as it is not being done for counterfeiting purposes.

It is illegal to "mutilate" an image of the Queen in Canada so that is why their coins cannot be "pressed".

Tip: Purchase a pound or two of pre-1982 pennies from ebay. Much nicer to have solid copper rather than zinc.

It is only illegal in the U.S. if the intent is to defraud. Pressed U.S. pennies are perfectly legal.

It is illegal in Canada because Canadian currency bears the portrait of the queen.

But I have gotten pressed pennies from different locations in Canada, such as Niagara Falls, and other locations. Now that we have done away with the penny do they have pressed nickel machines?:confused3

The machines all except the Canadian Penny. The last run of pennies were excellent for this since they were lighter and took the image better. Don't get me started on the queen and what we do to her face, I want this to stay as a nice thread.:sunny:

Unfortunately the special Agent P Pressed Penny is not part of every Agent P Mission in France,so if you really want it you may have to do several France Missions.:)

It is so cool when you do get that Mission-the Agent is instructed to say something special to the Cast Member in the Merchandise Shop by the France Bakery.

The Cast Member will give the Agent a Penny and the Agent is instructed to put the Penny in the France Pressed Penny machine.

Most Pressed Penny machines at WDW have 3 choices, but the France machine only has 2,but there is a third "hidden" die in the machine that is only activated as part of the France Mission.

Agents just put the Penny in the machine without any quarters and it magically starts and produces the special Agent P Penny-very neat.:)

That does sound pretty neat! I want to get the two older kids more involved at Epcot. I find they don't enjoy it nearly as much as we do.
