Remy Cart at Epcot for limited time
04/02/2009
Guests dinning at Les Chefs de France restaurant will be treated to a unique kind of entertainment, allowing them to meet Remy, the adorable rat from the movie Ratatouille.
Remy, (an Audio-Animatronic®), and the restaurant maitre d', (a comedic actor), engage Guests by performing a series of humorous, theatrical vignettes, using a moving food cart with a silver-domed cheese platter as their stage.
Remy, who can be seen Monday-Saturday between 12:30-6 p.m. through Sept, 5, makes a variety of noises and comes across as a living, breathing little character with a point of view all his own.
The Remy cart was conceived by Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Research & Development with support from WDI Creative Entertainment.
"Guests at Chefs de France have really been enjoying Remy," said Melissa Valiquette, Entertainment general manager. "He's cute as a button and his presence is a wonderful way to surprise and delight our Guests. Remy is even able to help our Guests celebrate through his interactions and that of his partner, the restaurant maitre d'.
Remy was considered for several other locations at [the Walt Disney World Resort], but he's an obvious fit at Chefs de France based upon his storyline. We approached our Operating Participant partners at Chefs de France about the possibility and were very pleased that they welcomed the opportunity to expand their entertainment offering and create a great new experience."
Remy also can be seen at Disneyland Paris, where he's been entertaining Guests since last summer.
