Does anyone know the dates of president's week? Is it crazy to go then as far as crowds go? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.:D

President's day January 17th, 2005.
We're thinking of going either the 18-27 (so we miss that weekend) or jan 31st- Feb 9th. I'm not sure if that whole week will be busy or not. If anyone has any idea I would greatly appreciated knowing if this is a good week or not too?? Or should I go the first week of Feb?

Sounds like it's really early this year ... it's usually around the 20th of February. And let me tell you, it is incredibly busy. :earseek: Early Feb is usually the Dance and Cheerleading competitions. It's a little busier (I found the pools to be very busy with the cheerleaders), but nothing like President's week. Never knew it existed until 1997 when I was at WDW that week ... I had never seen anything like it before. Of course we always try to go off-season.

Just to correct something, Presidents Day is not in January, it's February 21st, 2005. Right in the middle of when I'm hoping to be there (as long as my student budget will allow it, of course). I was there last year at the same time, and didn't find crowds to be that bad. It was busy, but wait times were not usually too bad, especially later in the evening.

Thanks, Oracle....glad to hear its not too bad. We booked for Feb 9-19 not realizing we are hitting into Presidents Day so hopefully we'll miss a chuck of the crowds.

How long does the cheerleader comps go on for? We've been there twice in mid Jan and ran into them both times.

We were there in 98 for our honeymoon over pres week and it was just NUTS to say the least. We waited for up to an hour and longer for some of the less popular attractions and much longer for the popular ones. I would stay away at that time of year just our opinion mind you but it was way to busy.

Sorry mulanrouge and everyone else

I had a bit of a blonde moment. President's Day is on Feb. 21st and MLK is on January 17th.

To many days to think about before I plan

i went in 2003 and it was quite busy, especially in the MK. But parks are open longer, and with good fastpassing, it's not a huge deal. i'd rather go then and stay later in the parks than feel rushed in slower times.

So when exactly is Presidents Day, the Cheerleading competition and let's not forget Martin Luther King day (because that's supposed to be busy too). I think MLK day is in January because a couple years ago I changed our week to avoid this. Does anyone have all the exact dates.

Howdy All--US DISer lurking on the Canadian Board. Allow me to help a bit.

MLK day is in January--January 17, 2005 to be exact. We were actually at WDW last year over this week, and the crowds were up quite a bit over that weekend, but by Tuesday, many of the Fastpass machines were covered, and we never waited longer than 15 minutes for anything.

President's Day is in February--February 21, 2005 to be exact. This is also the Monday that starts "Winter Break" or February School Vacation for many of us who live in the North East. I would expect it to be moderately crowded. We are actually heading to the Ft. Myers area this week, as WDW was not in the cards this year.

I can't help at all with the cheerleading questions, sorry.

Hope this helps a bit

Debbie

bad spelling - I mean should have just asked an American. Anyway if anyone can clear up the cheerleading thing - that would be great too.

President's Week? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Never again.

I was so bad to the point that we had to walk SIDEWAYS.

No, I'm not exagerrating.

We were at MK MLK weekend, big mistake, we left the park and went to Epcot, had lunch in WS. I don't find the crowds too bad when I visit WDW during cooler months like January. We went last September and realized we don't handle the humidity well:eek: Crowds and heat = frustration. :sunny:

Cheerleaders were all around but you never felt like you were being overrun, it was kind of fun to see them having fun!

@Fatcow, It makes me sad :( to see your note on your counter - why aren't you looking as forward to your visit?

melindanadrob,

there have been way too many grievances filed for this trip such as Air Canada changing their flight time making me lose the total of one full day of my scheduled trip, WDW ticketing misbilled me, gave me the wrong MVMCP dates, pulling-teeth to get my refund, and the list goes on.

I'm sure the trip itself will be fine, but the prep for this trip have cost me lots of stress, close to 20 hours of dealing with regards to all of the disputes and mistakes, and more than CAD$100 in long distance calls (also for the disputes and mistakes of several CMs).

If I have the choice of cancelling everything and get all my money back (from buying AP, La Nouba, MVMCP for 2 nights, etc), I would just cancel my trip.

Oh well, life goes on.
