Does anyone have any helpful hints as to what day would be best to hit the Magic Kingdom that week?

I'm figuring that the weekend is out and probably Monday too.

We have been at WDW three times during President's week.

You need to know that it will be busy and plan accordingly. The good news is the parks will be open longer. Also Disney will sometimes open the parks a little earlier to even out the rush.

If you are staying on-site, use EE to your advantage to go to that park for the morning and go to a different one in the afternoon (or when you think it is too busy).

Use FastPass on all the rides you can.

MK and AK will seem packed due to the size of the parks...On the weekend you could do any of the parks, but EPCOT would be my choice for Monday. We like to do MGM and EPCOT on the weekend and Monday, AK and MK on the other days.

Remember to relax, your on vacation!

We are arriving on 2/8 (Sun) and staying through 2/12 (Thur). These dates preceed the big 3-day weekend. Any idea if the crowds will be as large?

I am certainly hoping that we will be missing most of the big crowds.

I'm thinking that you won't have much in the way of crowds Piper but maybe someone else can give you more info.

I am going the same days. I have heard that the crowds should be low...only time will tell

Anyone else been during this time (before Pres. weekend)?

We are going the second week in February also. I dont think the crowds will be as huge as the following week. I do know what when I was pricing outr vacations that following week was almost 300pp more. I also had a hard time finding a room that can accomadate us for the whole week since lots of rooms are gone on Thursday and Friday...So expect those days for our week a little more crowded then the beggining of the week.

Hey topcat011,

Yes, I saw the price difference myself. We had already booked when I checked out some brochures and saw that "value" time ends right before President's Day weekend. We are pulling DS6 out of school for this trip (please don't flame me, the teacher is completely fine with it). However, the time will come when we have to go at peak time and pay $$$ or skip WDW.

For now. . .just counting down.

Piper, I was there the week before Presidents Day weekend and we loved it , the crowds were low. The Magic Kingdom was the one that was the busiest but my dd's and I took advantage of EE and we did most of the rides we wanted to do early. Just to give you an idea , here are a few pics taken those days at different parks and different times.

This is what Harambe looked like in the Animal Kingdom:

This is what it looked like from Liberty Square to Frontierland, although later in the day got busier at MK.

This is what it looked like in Epcot , right outside of France in the Worldshowcase:

The weather was just perfect, we all really enjoyed ourselves , nobody was cranky because of the heat , and we really enjoyed taking it easy and going anywhere we wanted to go with no more than maybe 10 minute wait , and the ones with a long line , we used fast pass.
We will be there again this February at the same time and we are pulling our daughters out of school too , so no flames for you from me! Enjoy the trip!

Thanks MsKanga,

Your pics make me even more excited. We watched a couple of the Disney shows taped off the travel channel today. Its hard to believe we are this close.

My poor folks. . . . they are joining us on the trip, but I don't think they quite "get it". I grew up in San Diego, and we went to Disneyland many, many times. However, the WDW property is so different from DL! I am sure they think we are a bit obsessed:hyper: but hopfully they will understand once the arrive.

Thanks for the feedback.
