My brother and his family are planning a trip to WDW on Feb 22. I never realized this was an extremely crowded time. How are crowds then?

:crowded: Very crowded. I think Presidents Week is the fourth most crowded week after Christmas, Thanksgiving & Easter.

I tried to talk my BIL/SIL out of going then?? They would not listen. They are taking the train leaving Friday before Presidents day and arrive Sat before and are leaving Thurs after. She is pregnant due in august and they have 3 kids (11, 3, & 2). Good luck with that is all I could say. They are taking my inlaws to help but none of them are extreme planners. I think the heat and crowds are going to possibly ruin their vacation. My SIL has never been and my BIL was there once as a kid in 1976.

I think if they're set on going, the best advice you could give them would be to take it slow. Don't try to see and do everything. I've seen 120 minute waits for the bigger attractions at that time of year. The crowds can definitely affect your trip. They would need to go in the frame of mind, that they will just do what they can while they're there, and then plan another trip.

We were there last year for Pres Week and the year before and are going again this year. It's doable, you just have to plan. We got there very early and by noon when the crowds picked up, we left. By that time in MK, we had done the race cars, Buzz twice, Stitch, BTMR, SM, POC and a few other ones like Small World, all with little to no wait. Since we had been before, those were the ones we really wanted to see. Unfortunately, by the time we headed to EPCOT, all the FP were gone for TT and Soarins FP weren't until the later in the evening. So it's possible but the key is plan ahead and go early.

Tell them above all to get to the parks at opening! And maybe buy Unoffical Guide or Tourguide Mike. We went the week between Christmas and New Years and had a great time using Tourguide Mike. But it was also our 5th visit so we knew the drill. If they study the WDW website or a guidebook, especially with the 11 year old, they can pick their must do's ahead of time and get those done first. Also, they might want to have some ADR's, although at this point that might be tough to do. Just stress to them that WDW is HUGE, and that you can never see everything all in one visit so to take it a pace that works and go with real expectations. I hope they have fun!

I would still try for ADRs. Last year during Pres Week, we decided while we were there that we wanted to eat at Boma. Called up and got the exact day and time we wanted. Never hurts to try.
