Did anyone even know there was such a thing? I knew about the Physical Fitness award, but not this.

Anyway, Bradley recieved this award this year (along with 9 of his fellow students). The principal stated that it was the first time in a couple of years they had been able to award this.

It looks at your overall middle school achievement. (or overall elementary or overall high school, as the case may be) . The kids had to maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout the two years of middle school and score greater than 85 percentile on the standardized testing for the two years.

I teased him and told him it was pretty nice of ol Dubya to send him such an award when he so vehemently....ahh....disagrees with Mr. Bush! LOL!

Allright.......so how is everyone else's young'uns doing this year?? I want to hear all the successes, all the improvements, and all of the extreme effort for the school year!! (yea, I'm wierd!!)

Yup, I've heard of it. I got one in middle school. From what I saw last year they also give them out in high school, to the seniors (at my school anyway).
Congrats to your son. Sounds like he must be an excellent student.

Yep...my kids racked up a couple over the yeats.

congrats to your son :)

DD just finished 5th grade yesterday and got one. DS got one 2 years ago when he finished 5th grade.

DD got one in 5th grade. Today at the awards in her middle school they had silver and gold President's Awards. She received the gold one.

Very proud mom here!;)

Kate's only in 2nd grade but she started out the year struggling to read.

Now, at the end of the school year she's reading BIG words. Not only that but I peek in on her sometimes and she'll be reading instead of doing other stuff. I LOVE seeing her read!

Today is the last day of school so I've been reminded by her that I need to bring The Pickup Truck to haul the contents of her desk home! :p
