All right, did anyone watch when there was a recap of the Presidential Election on CNN? Anyway, the music they were playing in the background was Illuminations! My roommates thought that I was crazy, did anyone else notice this??

i did!!!! and so did my 9 year old son. (his confirmation was what convinced me i wasn't crazy!)

how can they do that and not have to pay Disney?!?!?

I saw it too!!! Recognized it right away! It's my 2nd favorite Disney soundtrack - Tapestry of Nations is my favorite!!!

(It was on ABC news which is owned by Disney - I'm sure there was no fee involved!)

Same way that they would if they played a Bon Jovi track.

You do know that all the illuminations music is on CD right.

They pay royalties through Record Label to use that music. Disney gets paid on the back end.

yea - but i didn't think disney would allow their park music (on cd's available at the parks, or other "outside" retail venues) to be used outside of the park/attraction for a broadcast.

Generally the only time you hear a Disney tune (especially one used specifically at a park attraction) would be for a Disney promo of some sort.

I am sure it had to have been approved. If it hadn't and we all noticed it, i am sure someone from Disney would have noticed it too and done something about it.

Last night I was watching Jeopardy on CFCF 12 (Montreal) and during a commercial break they ran a promo of upcoming concerts (Cher, Green Day, etc). The music they used was Tapestry Of Nations.

ABC news! Thanks for that correction, my roommate usually watches CNN so I assumed that is what I was watching. It is so good to know that I am not going crazy or Disney deprived when I keep saying "That music is from Illuminations at WDW!" and then having the roommates look at me like I have finally lost my mind.
