We have friends in Canada and their daughter's birthday is on 9th February, and we've run out of ideas for a present for her.

In the past we have sent bracelets, t-shirts etc. but have now hit that complete blank for ideas (having just got past Christmas doesn't help either).

She'll be 12 years old. I need to think of something that is not too large or heavy (postage can be pretty steep) and obviously something that is not too fragile.

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

My 12 year old niece loves bags!

What about a trendy canvas over the body bag - cool enough for school and going out with friends - and light enough and practical to post.

Try looking in the children's section at New look, Etam etc.

If you have some pennies left - trendy purse or pen and note book etc for inside the bag.

Lets face it - you can nver have enough bags!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hope this helps

Janet

Now that might be a good idea. We've done the purses and handbags already so getting the canvas style bag would be good. And if we can find something that will be completely different to what they can get in Canada then that will be a big plus as well.:thumbsup2

Look up David and Goliath T-shirts, the ones with slogans like 'Stupid factory - where boys are made' or any other UK designed thing that she won't be able to get over there, doesn't have to be mega bucks,

If she has a pair of Crocs - you could buy some Jibbitz. Or perhaps an Italian charm bracelet and some charms? That make a nice personalized gift. Check out this online store: Jenny's Jewels (jennysjewels.ca)

How about build a bear?

You can order off their homesite and get it sent straight there, i do that for the community board exchanges.

12 year olds need Middlesbrough football shirts!! Get her one of those. She's bound to love it. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

When my best friends kids got a bit older (they live in Edmonton, where I grew up) I stopped sending them stuff and started getting them 'experience' gifts. Maybe you could get her a day out somewhere at her favourite place? I would just ring them up and they would organise everything and post out the voucher to her with a gift card etc and they seemed to really love that :) Where do they live?

Where do they live?

They live in Guelph.

We managed to do some shopping today and got her one of those over-the-shoulder bags plus one or two other little items as well.

Many thanks all for putting forward the ideas.:thumbsup2
