And YES I KNOW it is PREscription!!!!!!

I notice on here quite a bit where some write PERscription so I was wondering if it was a regional thing or what. What do you say?

Also another one that really bugs me and no one will ever answer.
Alot of people on here will say "I peed my pants" or "I peed myself".

I always was under the impression that it should be "I peed IN my pants" or "I peed on myself".
What do you say and WHY?

For some reason, even though it's spelled PREscription, I pronounce it as PERscription. Gotta be my NY accent :teeth:

I never really thought about it, but now that I have I realize I pronounce it like it was spelled "pra-scription". (I also know it's spelled prescription). Must be a Michigan thing?

I'm from Texas, DH is from Detroit, we both say perscription.

I grew up in Mississippi, and my DBF grew up in Louisiana. We both say "prescription."

What the people that call the paper you get from the doctor for medicine a 'subscription'?

I say prescription....I think I have a headache..:headache:

Im also say PERscription.

The "peed" thing, well I've never said it so Im not sure which way I would!

Pre, but quite often I just abbreviate it to "script".

Rich::

Never thought about it had to say just to know. Perscription

This bugs the heck out of me! It makes NO sense. By taking out the words "in" or "on" they are changing the meaning to something that is senseless! "I peed my pants" would mean the pants were coming out as your pee! :scared1: "I peed myself" sounds like a proud 3 year old!

I have no idea why adults type and say this!

THANK YOU!! I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one that felt this way!! I have asked this question a few times in the past and would NEVER get a reply!!

I've mentioned it in threads too and NO one answers! I think everyone but us must say it! My kids think it is bizarre too as I asked them about it. It is really not that difficult to type out or say "in"!

Maybe we missed a song or movie along the way that would explain the popularity of this saying??
