Prepaid Phone Cards In US

Funny, I was just talking about this at work. I swear by the pre-paid Walgreens phone cards - I picked one up more than a year ago, and used it all the time on our trips to the U.S. It seem to last forever for $10- (I must admit I'm not sure of the "per-minute" rate); it does have a pay phone surcharge, but we always used it either from our hotel or people we were staying with. (No hotel I know of charges for 1-800 access - are people sure Disney does?). My card finally ran out - on our trip down south last month the first Walgreens we saw I picked up another one.

Having said all this, I've never used the PC card, which sounds like a good deal. The Walgreens cards cannot be used in Canada (the 800 number is not vaild); I rarely need to used a phone card around here, but if I did, the PC one would be handy.

And I never, EVER use my Bell calling card. Not if I can help it ...

No problems whatsover, and like we all said, it's the cheapest phone card around right now (all of the other ones mentioned, especially CiCi have surcharges applied) because there are no hidden fees at all.

Good luck with your decision, but this really is a no-brainer as this card is as good and easy to use as we are all saying it is.

Never any problems here either. I'm even using the card from my home phone for long distance calls to family in the UK! :thumbsup2

I used the PC phone card in March from WDW and there were no hidden charges. Also I use it in Can. for 4.3 cents a minute and to Europe for 4.9 cents. The best deal in town IMHO.

ditto !

We have been using the President's Choice pre-paid long distance card since February with no problems at all. I have used it to call from the US to Canada, from Canada to the US, and long distance within Canada. In fact, I have cancelled my long distance plan with my phone company, and now only use the PC phone card. At only 4.3 cents per minute, with no time-of-day restrictions, it's the best deal I could find.

We cancelled our plan with Bell as well, saving us the $2.95 Network fee, which rises to $4.00 next month. Tons of savings all around. Thanks PC!
