Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Good morning everyone:banana:
After a restful night of sleep, I am all ready to complete day two.

8:15am - 10:30am Wilderness Segway Tour
-You probably keep on hearing me complaining about my poor old knees being sored. Will I go on a Segway Tour again? YES!!!:yay::yay: I am ready to go right now. It was fantastic. We only spent about 10 min instruction time and the rest was spent on the Segway X2. The tour was given by two wonderfully funny men, Sean and Ron. We are already planning to do this one at Fort Wilderness and the other one at Epcot. We are "Pro" now, lol :woohoo:
11:30am - 12:15pm Parasailings at Contemporary Resort's Sammy Duvall
-We had to wait for more than 30 minutes for another family doing parasailings too. My son did the solo flight and the crew had him flied really high at more than 500 feet. My son loved his flight and will most likely do this again next time. My husband and I went with the tandem flight. We didn't go as high as my son's(weight differential) My DH loved being so high up and found the flight relaxing. Me?? been there done that...:rolleyes1
12:30pm - 1:50pm Lunch at Kona Cafe
-Lunch has always been good at Kona Cafe. I had my usual "Fried Teriyaki Steak" lunch, smoothie to drink, Chicken noodle soup as appetizer, and the no sugar added "Apple stacker" for my dessert. DH had the crab cake, smoothie, stirred fry noodle, and creme brulee. DS ordered the pot stickers, smoothie, fish taco and the kiddie kone. All of us ordered the 100% kona french pressed coffee. The coffee was not charged by our server, Betty:lovestruc
2:00pm - 4:00pm Private Golf Lesson at Palm/Magnolia
-This is the one my DH was looking forward of doing for months. Diane was our golf Pro instructor. She has been playing professionally for 15 years and she was really patient with all of us. The Pro shop CM was kind to remind us that with our "Plan", we can play and take as many lesson as we want. We might take up their suggestions and plan more time learning to golf (earlier in the morning next time) Our timing cannot be more worse than anything. 2 to 4 is usually the hottest time of the day. CRAZY ME!! What was thinking when I scheduled this??!!!:upsidedow
5:15pm - 7:45pm Cirque du Soleil
-This was our first La Nouba. What a show!! We will most definitely watch this again.
8:05pm - 10:00pm Dinner at Fulton's Crab House
-We have never eaten at this restaurant before, so we didn't know what to expect. The food was pretty good. My DS and I ordered half a dozen of raw oysters on the half shells each. They were delicious!! Both of us had the filet and King Crab Claw as entrees. My DH went with his favorite, Fried Calamari as his appetizer. His entree was the King Crab Claws with Lobster tail. We were all too full for dessert, so each of us ordered Cappuccino as our desserts. We might try Portobello next trip instead.

This sounds sooo great!!! I have this package booked for 7 days November 2011 and can't wait! I've done the premium package before and loved it. When I did the premium package it was basically the platinum package, you got Cirque and all gratuities included (those were the days). Anyway I was glad to hear you liked the golf lessons, DD can't wait to do those and plans on one a day! Can't wait to see pics!

Thank you all for reading my report! I have to admit that it is taking me longer to upload all 500+ pictures to Flickr. Stay tune :thumbsup2

Please don't mad if this has been asked before, but I was looking at the brochure for the premium plan and Victoria & Alberts was not on there, just on the platinium so is it available for the premium and just not listed?

No, not at all! we started off with the premium plan in mind months ago, but have decided to go with the Platinum plan. For only $56 extra to get the platinum plan from the premium, we simply could not find an excuse to pass the opportunity. Voila :wizard: We did so much with the two days on the platinum plan. Well worth the price :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have gathered my notes from the trip. Here's the breakdown of how much we spent on the Platinum plan:

Dolphin in Depth Tours: $206+/pp x 3 =$618+

Richard Petty Ride-a-long experience: $100/pp x 3 =$300

Professional Portrait session @GF: =$53.00(w/prints)

Victoria & Alberts dinner: $125/pp = $375+

Wishes Firework Cruise: =$275

Wilderness Segways: $90/pp x 3 =$270

Parasailings: $102(solo) + $181(tandem) =$282.00

Kona Cafe lunch: $177/3pp

Private golf lessons: $75/pp/45 minutes x 3 x 120 minutes = $600+/-

Cirque du Soleil: $85/pp x 3 =$255+

Fulton's Crab House dinner: $262/3pp

The grand total we used on the plan ===$3467

We paid $1129 for this Platinum package of one night hotel room at AKL plus one day base ticket. Overall we did well indeed!!:dance3::dance3:

So glad to read that after all that planning you had no regrets! I see the cost breakdown but what did the room end up being? I know you have to pay 'rack' rate to add the package. That is the biggest reason we did Premium since we only had to spend $100 for POP (plus under $70 for a room only on arrival - got a good discount) We depart 2 weeks from tomorrow for our 1-night (now dull sounding compared to yours) Premium plan.

I got so excited with the package planning I have now decided we MUST add DxDP to our last 3 nights just so I can fit in all the places we couldn't eat at on the 1-night pkg.

Plus, we are paying OOP for the Steam Train tour since we dropped in from the Premium pkg in favor of the MORNING FW Segway tour. By the way - are you glad you did the morning tour instead of the 11:30-1:30 tour? I'm thinking WAY TOO MUCH mid-day heat for me.

Did you find yourselves rushed at all to get everything in - or exhausted at the end of the day? We plan an entire day off on Sat (Prem plan starts Thu am & ends Fri night) to allow recovery time.

I soooooo want to do V&A and would love a massage (hubby could golf while I relax) and the cruise would be amazing. We had the joy of sharing the Yacht cruise in 2006 (joined 2 other WDW families) and my best fireworks memories are from that occassion.

I'm going to have to start saving for Platinum ... let's see, if we eat cereal for breakfast and dinner, no beer or golf for DH, no movies or wine for me, we could do it in the summer of 2013 - MAYBE.:rotfl:

Just to clarify, Victoria and Albert's is only available on the platinum plan, not the premium plan. Pretty much every restaurant is available on the premium plan EXCEPT V&A. Hope that helps.

Absolutely no regret what-so-ever :thumbsup2
We used AAA discount for the room part of the Platinum package, which gave us a 15% off. We also got an additional $50 off our package courtesy of our local AAA office.
We did the 8:30am Segway at Ft. Wilderness and the temp was much more tolerable. Major part of the Segway tour was spent in the shades and we were given bottle waters before the tour to keep us hydrated.
If we did not have our own vehicle, we won't be able to do as much as we did. For most of the time, it took me 10 minutes or less to get from point A to point B. We didn't know that V&A offer "free" valet parking for its patron, so we parked really far away from the main entrance. The lady that checked us did apology for this misunderstanding. No harms done!!
You will love the Platinum Plan. The only extra I see that you have to pay more for is the room($140 extra) and $60 each for the difference between the premium plan. So for about $260 more, you get so much more :dance3:

Would this work? - The Epcot segway tour at 7:45 - 9:45 immediately followed by the Dolphins in Depth tour at 9:45.

Would I be able to leave the segway tour a few minutes early if it was running late? I think the segway tour ends at Innoventions which is right across from The Seas.

Did they do three Ride-a-longs on the same package? Is one per package or one per person? I have been reading it as one per package, one per person would be good news.

It would be hard to leave early because you have to stay with the group and end back inside. The entire group would have to go back a bit early. When I did a few years ago it seems like we went overtime.

I think that might be cutting it too close. Does the Dolphins in Depth tour start at 9:45? If so they will probably want you there by 9:30.

I don't know if the dolphin tour is the same but we did Aqua Seas last year and we had to meet OUTSIDE the park gates at Guest Relations. A Seas CM came out and checked us all in, gave us some information and then took us to the Seas pavilion through a backstage entrance.

In order for this to work for you you'd basically have to get some one from the Seas to agree to meet you in the pavilion somewhere after 9:45 to take you backstage to join the rest of the group. Not sure they would be willing to do that.

Also, we did the Segway tour a few weeks ago and ours ran about 10-15 minutes over. In fact, we were still near France on the Segways at the time our tour was scheduled to be over. I dont see any way you could leave that tour early.

Yes, I'm very curious about this too, because the package brochure (and other Disney sources) have it as "one per package."

I just finished booking my trip and found this
One Richard Petty Ride-Along Experience per adult, per reservation.
:thumbsup2

It goes on to say ages 14 and up only. Which is a slight bummer since we are doing this again in May with the kids along and DD will only be 13. However JUST the Dolphins in Depth tour plus V&A more than make up for the cost of the plan.

I just double-checked and the official 2010 and 2011 brochures say:

The Richard Petty Ride-Along Experience may be redeemed by one person, per package stay.

Also, I recently booked a Platinum Plan for February and the official Disney printout I got says:

RICHARD PETTY RIDE ALONG VCHR 1 PER ROOM

:confused3

This is the page that the reservation confirmation links to:

It is not the glossy brochure looking one that you can get as a pdf

I think I might have some answers to your questions. These were based on our recent experience with Platinum Plan from 10 days ago

Did they do three Ride-a-longs on the same package? Is one per package or one per person? I have been reading it as one per package, one per person would be good news.

The AKL/IPO delivered our Platinum Plan KTTW keys and package of voucher cards(hard cards) on the morning when the package began. There were sets of 3 cards for Richard Petty Experience, Cirque du Soleil, Fantasmic preferred seating. There's only one redemption card for the Photopass CD(to use after your trip-online) We all had the 3-lap experience..

We did the Dolphin in Depth at 9:45am and were greeted at the Guest Relation at 9:45am. However, I won't want to chance it. There's quite a distance between Innovention and the front entrance.

It is for everyone in the package. 100 % sure!

What a bummer! The CM did ask to see our ID when checking us in for the Dolphin tour. We wore our name stickers during most part of the tour before changing into wetsuits.

Congrats! you are going to have lot of fun with the Platinum. Yes, everyone booked on the package will have one voucher cards for The ride along. However, the cards do not show any name what-so-ever.

Yeah, I see it also says category 1 seating for Cirque. From what I understood it was all category 2 seating for premium/platinum guests. I guess i'll find out in about a month here!

Our seats at La Nouba were not front and center. We were seating at section 204 row FF. Great seats!
