Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

They never contacted me. I called them a few days later.
Sue, at AKL IPO didn't want to be bothered, since I only have a one night ressie. She said, "Well you are only staying one night". Obviously not worth wasting her time.

Great, I was going to call the IPO at AKL this week to get the rest of my things set up. I sure hope this is an isolated incident, i'd hate to imagine they'd think just because someone is staying one night they don't need any assistance.

I was just contacted today by the WL IPO by e-mail and I just booked a 1 night package. Hopefully they will be good in helping me.

Actually, from the posts I have read (including the original poster "Premium Plan for One Night...") most of us are doing Premium.

I would be interested in hearing from others whether or not they were contacted and if so, were they Platinum or Premium?

After scouring BOTH brochures, I found nothing about IPO on either. :confused3

I have pretty much gotten everything put together for our trip but would appreciate getting an 'official' pronouncement that my plans/timing are correct and since EVERY resort has a concierge desk and POP only offers Premium, I'm just assuming they provide the support.

Several calls to several sources has not provided me with any consistent answer.

This was sent in my confirmation email after booking (and paid in full, though I imagine you would receive the same even before full payment).

You see Itinerary Planning is the first bullet.
I spoke with Don this afternoon, who knew a thing or two and was nice and helpful.

Funny about these IPO questions, I just received an email from them sometime this afternoon. I made my reservation this past Monday and only paid the $200 deposit, and my trip isn't until late September. I've basically made all of my reservations myself already, but there's still a couple things I have questions about and need help setting up.

I'm so excited! These next 4 and 1/2 months are sure going to go by so slowly!

We booked our trip, but haven't been brave enough to book the premium ONE night stay yet....we are booked at CBR for Thur, Nov 18th-Fri 26th. I was thinking of doing our premium night on Monday, Nov 22nd (so we'd have Mon & Tues.) La Nouba is dark on Mon, so we'd have to go Tues night. We are interested in taking golf lessons & playing a round of golf on Monday?? DH has dreamt of playing golf at WDW for years! (DH is very good, but DS7, DD10, & myself are beginners.) I think we'd like to end Mon. night at Hoop Dee Doo :cheer2:

DS7 will only qualify for one tour (at MK) which we would probably do on Tues morning. We aren't interested in the water sports at all. So, what do you guys suggest for us? The carriage rides would be fun, but what else? TIA! :flower3:

Well, you could always take advantage of the portrait session offered at some of the resorts and get some really nice photos of your family. Hopefully not golf overkill, but the mini golf courses are a lot of fun too.

Thank you! Forgot about that...we always buy the photopass cd, so will they include the pics on that cd? Seems like I read that they won't, but I may be wrong?

"wishicouldgomoreoften"

Thanks for the clarification! I finally got hold of a TA CM who confirmed that 'IP' (Intnerary Planning) is offered ONLY to Platinum packages, NOT to Premium. Good thing most of us have at least a touch of CDO - that is OCD in alphabetical order - AS IT SHOULD BE :rotfl2: - and have our plans pretty much in place well ahead of our visits.

It would be nice, however, if there was a location - preferably on WDW website - that offered suggested transportation methods & times to get from place-to-place.

Yes, there are buses from resorts to parks, TTC & DTD and the monorail and boats to service select areas, but getting from resort to resort is cumbersome and VERY time consuming. :confused3

Taxis are ALWAYS the fastest & most convenient method - if not cheap but $20 will get you most anywhere within WDW - but you still have to consider timing and availability.

:car: Rental cars work well, but you have to find your way around the rather complex WDW road system as many streets are NOT marked. Though my normally great sense of direction gets completely flip-flopped :upsidedow there, my DH loves to drive around WDW. Even he - on occassion - has gotten lost and ended up on CM only roads (embarrassing :( ).

WDW is still our favorite vacation destination - safe, clean, family friendly and fun with plenty to do - just wishing for better ways to access/plan for timing. Cast Member ALWAYS recommed allowing AT LEAST 1 hour to get anywhere, and sometimes that is absolutely necessary, especially if timing is crutical - better early than late.

However, much time is often wasted WAITING for each form of transportation, then WAITING for the connecting transportation both to and from events. :scared:

Maybe they could set up QS or shopping kios' by bus stops? That would give us something to do while generating more revenue for them! :mickeyjum:

Called today, booked the premium & then changed ressies around a bit
FIRST night: 11/18 - Premium Pkg, POP
SECOND night: 11/19 - NO PACKAGE or dining or tickets, POP
11/20-11/26: Poly, 7day MYW, DDP

Okay, since I booked my premium & only got ONE MYW ticket for the 2 days, how do I do this? We would like to take the MK tour (there's only one my DS7 can go on) & it's always been our tradition to watch Wishes on our very 1st night.

So, should we take the tour as soon as we get to WDW (which realistically can't be any earlier than 1pm), eat at HOOP around 6pm, then head BACK to MK to watch the fireworks? I would love to squeeze something in between the MK tour & HOOP, but I'm not sure if we'll have time.

Our second day could be: golf lessons, then a round of golf, portrait session, eat somewhere, then LaNouba? Does all this sound possible? Can they do 4 separate golf lessons at ONE TIME? Thanks :goodvibes

FIRST night: 11/18 - Premium Pkg, POP suggest changing to room-only.
SECOND night: 11/19 - NO PACKAGE or dining or tickets, POP suggest changing to Premium pkg and use from early morning Friday through late night Saturday. Using days this way will cross-over a bit but shouldn't cost any more money as you already have a 1-day pass for Premium and the rest w/DDP at Poly.

Our second day could be: golf lessons, then a round of golf, portrait session, eat somewhere, then LaNouba? Does all this sound possible?

Can they do 4 separate golf lessons at ONE TIME? To answer your golf lesson question, YES, everyone in the package can take golf lessons. They are at the club house by Shades of Green (believe they also have a pro at Osprey by FW and Lake Buena Vista by SSR/OKW).

Lessons need to be pre-booked (call WDW-PLAY). They begin on the hour, last 45 minutes, but they ask you to arrive 15 min prior. I'm not sure how many pros they will have available at any one time, so this could take a chunk of time. Maybe DH could take the lesson while you and DS play at MK per my suggestions below?

11/20-11/26: Poly, 7day MYW, DDP POP will transfer your luggage to POLY on Saturday morning so you won't have to take any time out of your day. They do this all the time. Just be sure you tell them you need it at POLY by 1:30 (or whatever time you plan to check-in) and leave a little tip for the POP luggage handlers

Premium = ONE MYW ticket (use this for SECOND day instead), take MK tour & our tradition is to watch Wishes on 1st night.

Take tour as soon as get to WDW (can't be earlier than 1pm), Checking my paperwork, it appears this tour - unfortunately - is only offered ONCE daily @ 10:00am. If that is correct, you'll need to switch your bookings doing Prem pkg 11/19 w/room-only on 11/18. Arrive, check-in and do out-of-park things or just settle in, then go to POLY beach and watch Wishes from there, thus still keeping your tradition, or stand outside MK in front of the entrance for a decent view?

This allows you 2 FULL days to do your PREMIUM activities ! I know you are booked for DDP @ Poly, and that would not have to change. You can use these in combination with your Premium Pkg. Put it on paper and see how timing/dining combos work for you. Arrival afternoon / night (Thu) would need to be OOP, but everything else would be covered.

On Prem pkg, as you know, ALL 3 meals can be Signature dining if you wish. You could do HDDR one night and La Nouba the other, with a nice dinner BEFORE or AFTER depending on which show you choose. :cloud9:

To help cut down on transportation time, consider doing La Nouba on Friday - your POP night since you are close to DTD, then HDDR Satureday - your 2nd nite since you will be at POLY then.

Friday 11/19: Leave POP for Water sport/Golf lessons/horseback rides @ FW, etc. Plan to end activities by 1:30 or so and return to POP allowing plenty of time for transport and to rest, change and get to DTD for La Nouba by 5:15 for 6:00 La Nouba. They ask that you check in 1-hour early, but since you will HAVE your tickets, arriving by 5:15-5:30 at the LATEST should work. The pre-show begins 20 minutes prior to the main show and you'll be out by 7:30.

Enjoy a Prem pkg dinner at DTD - several nice choices including Fultons, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, or even Portabella that is NOT available w/reg dining plans; back to POP by 10:30 or so. (if doing 9:00 La Nouba, flip dining to earlier.)

Saturday 11/20: Get to MK by RD & ride DUMBO (or your favorites), maybe grab a fast pass for later; meet at Townhall by 9:45 for the 10am tour. (If tired, sleep in and plan to arrive MK by 9:30).

Consider booking lunch @ Castle for after tour (or Crystal Palace or anywhere you want!) covered by Premium Pkg. After lunch, if you have energy to burn, stay and play a while @ MK (or boat to FW for a 45-min horseback ride if didn't do yesterday).

Another option - try for FIRST breakfast at Castle - if you are early risers and not too tired from yesterday. You need at least 1:30 hours for the experience, and will need to be at Townhall by 9:45. If they have something BEFORE 8:00 am that should work.

Crystal Palace is another option, or even Ohana for their character breakfast - a bit more leisurely and very fun for DD! You can grab a snack to hold you over until your HDDR, just remember they serve a LOT of food. ;) Depending on which time you book, you might even do a QS lunch at MK.

After you finish 'playing' @ MK, go directly to POLY (POP should have transferred luggage by now) to rest/change as necessary.

THIS would be the time and place to work in your Photo Session. You can cut your MK day short, adjust lunch, etc. to suit the session time.

Depending on your ADR time for HDDR, allow 1 hour to get there. You could monorail to Contemporary and walk out to their pier and catch the boat over. It stops close to the building (double check when booking HDDR to see if walkable from dock or if you need to take an internal bus. Pretty sure it is right there, but not POSITIVE).

Whatever options you chose, make sure you SLEEP IN on the 3rd day - you'll need it! Sunday is a GREAT day to visit AK - maybe arrive around lunch or even later (yummy food at Flametree BBQ - walk around the building and follow the path on the RIGHT all the way back - nice shady area, not croweded with a wonderful view of EE across the lagoon!). This is a fun park just to wander through, maybe even catching the after lunch FOTLK or NEMO, and stay through their TERRIFIC parade @ 3:45.

Okay, I have covered WAY too much here, but I wanted to be sure you get the best use out of the Premium package by beginning early the first day and ending late the second. Trying to start the package after lunch, especially if everyone is tired from traveling, may not be as pleasant or productive.

WOW!!! You have a wealth of Disney knowledge stored up in that brain, don't you?? :rotfl: I cannot thank you enough for all the recommendations! I copied your entire post & pasted onto a regular MS word page. I will print it out, take notes, scribble & figure out which of these options will work best for us. Honestly, I'm so thankful for you taking the time to share this info!

My concern is not doing anything "Disney" on that first day. We could go to all the outlets & get some early souveniers I suppose. Something I'm going back & forth over is the MVMCP :confused3 If I were to change around like you suggested, we could go to MVMCP on Thur 11/18 & not waste any "premium time". I'm assuming we could get into MK as early as 4pm?? This way, we could sleep until about 8am & arrive at WDW around 3pm (instead of getting up at 6am on vacation!) Plus, this will continue our tradition of seeing Wishes on our very 1st night! Now, too bad it's not included in the premium/platinum packages.... Thanks again, this is so exciting! :flower3:

MVMCP is an EXCELLENT idea. Tired travelers do NOT make for happy memories so being able to slow down your first day instead of hitting the ground running full-pace sounds great.

Try doing your plans using a spreadsheet using 30 minute blocks of time. Visualize 'getting' from one location to the next and consider 'worst-case' scenarios for timing. You do not want to be late for HDDR, La Nouba, or any group tour. Dining is a bit less critical since WDW allows for that, but it could affect your NEXT activity.

When I put together our plans and then 'blocked' them out, I realized there was NO WAY I could do a couple of the things that seemed reasonable when I planned them. WDW is just so big.

We will have a rental car, but you still have to get from place-to-place then park & walk. That is why I combine driving/taxi/bus/monorail/boats/walking to determine the FASTEST and/or EASIEST way to get 'there and back again' from places like Fort Wilderness. If you drive in, you still have to park and catch an internal bus - and there is about a 20 min wait if you 'just missed' the last one.

And driving into MK is really TTC then monorail or boat over, so we will take a bus (6:30am) from POP to MK for an early tour (7:15), then catch a boat at MK (10:40) to FW for our Segway tour (11:15), return by boat to Contemporary to grab a QS sandwich (12:15), walk to MK (1:00) & bus back to POP - arriving around 2:00. That gives us enough time to rest a bit, shower, change and head to La Nouba for the 6:00 show.

No kids or grandkids with us on this trip - just a couple of 60 somethings enjoying their favorite vacation destination! Ah, gotta love the mouse.

As for the knowledge in my brain - it is definitely getting crowded in there these days. I am so fond of WDW that I help friends & family plan their trips and try to read lots of forums, websites to stay up with changes. It is nice to be able to help and even nicer to have someone express their appreciation - so :thanks:

Have fun and be sure to let me know if you need a bit more help with tweeking.

Oh, forgot to mention, if you do the EARLY HDDR and can get back to MK by 8:30, schedule the 'special viewing area' at MK for Wishes. You need to be there by 8:45 and there is no seating, but the area is roped of especially for package holders. It is just right of the hub in an area that is used during the day for smokers (yuck) but it is almost right under the line where Tink flyes. It is also part of the benefit of Premium package!

DH and I are going Sept 16-26, 2010. Could we get the platinum plan for 1 night? We are staying at POP.
If so please help me plan.

Sylvia in mn

Unfortunately, you can only book the platinum plan with a stay at any deluxe resort. However, if you are staying at the Pop, you can get the premium plan. Perhaps you might want to consider doing a split stay???

What a GREAT idea!! Forgot about preferred viewing. Has anyone ever done this? How crowded might it be on a Saturday night??? Thanks!

Anyone have a suggestion as to which fireworks cruise is better, in their opinion? I've seen wishes from up close, and also from the Cali Grill, so I'm leaning towards Epcot since you'd be pretty much right on top of the show, but maybe the pyrotechnics and/or smoke is an issue.

OK we can do the premium package. That means we can do unlimited tours etc right and still get Cirque DU Soleil tickets? How would we plan this? Should we try a delux for one night or just stay at POP. Would love to just stay at POP if we can get the above tours etc.

Sylvia In MN

Thanks for everyone's help. Still trying to figure this all out and see if it is a good deal. Sorry I need so much help. We are going during free dining but upgrades to Deluxe for the trip. I coiuld do two different reservations right?

Yes you can do 2 different reservations! I had to do three. Keep in mind...if you're only doing 1 night premium or platinum, you'll probably start early 1st day & go all the way through late on the 2nd night. That's why I did 3 ressies. I didn't want to waste any time on my 1st day. Thanks to 2ofUs for pointing this out. You may want to have a day before (or after) you start so you won't waste precious platinum hours!

If you decide to stick with the Premium plan, you can certainly stay at POP and still enjoy all the tours that the Premium plan has to offer.

:mickeyjum Thank you 2ofUs for all your advice!! :tigger:
I flip-flopped my resort only/premium night like you suggested & it only added $4 to our total! :cool1: I appreciate you so much b/c that would have been SUCH a waste of $$$ to start our vacation on premium. Watch out world, here we come! (now, if I could just make up my mind about MVMCP on 11/18.......)
