Hi guys,

We will be booking the flights for our wedding trip in the next couple of months.

We are going to fly Premium Economy (or similar depending on airline) and would prefer to fly direct.

So far I’m seeing prices at around £1000.

Is this a good price?

Thank you

Torsie

I am looking for flights for April/May & October at the moment and the price is around £900 per adult. This is on VA.

I am hoping for an xmas sale - I would like to get them around £2K for 2A 1C but not sure if I will get that low. DH has decided that he *really* doesn't want to go economy :rolleyes1

It'll be March 2011, going on a thurs, coming back 2 weeks later on the thurs or fri. Probably going on the 10th, but we're waiting to here from our planner.

I know the prices arent out yet, but I want to get an idea.

For same dates March 2010 £895 or £799+ 7,500 miles if you have any. Prices will probably be similar for year after unless you can get then in a sale(possible at that time of year)

Personally I would also look at Business class indirect, same dates £1,015 with Delta into Tampa (£1,100 MCO) I believe from Heathrow they now have the new seats http://www.lotusbusinesstravel.com/airlineinfo/dl/Delta Airlines New Bed.jpg
We still have the old seats from Manchester but would still prefer them to Virgins PE.
Depends if you want 1 step up from economy direct or luxury indirect.
My choice would be Delta Biz class, couldn't fault it.

Wow! Thanks Wayne, that looks awesome!

Is that the via Detroit flights? As that connection worked great for us.

We were going to use our miles with Virgin Atlantic but the saving was only around £60 each. So we booked flights with Major Travel for PE that was just over £900 each, choosing dates later in August when the price is cheaper. I do mean 'cheaper' and not 'cheap'!
We could have got this with VA for slightly less, but with some other financial committments ongoing we wanted to pay a deposit rather than the whole amount.
Especially as until this year's holiday we had cancelled our last 2.

To be honest whilst we do like Premium Economy, it's mainly for Joshua's benefit, and we are also kind of limited as we want direct flights to MCO from Manchester. In-direct is not an option for us.

I didn't look at the route, ours this year were via Atlanta

Hi there, Virgin Atlantic have released their contracted rates up until 31st March 2011 and the price for Premium Economy is £878 per adult and £733 per child. This is providing you travel between Monday and Thursdays, weekend supplements apply for flying on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, they are £30 per person.

'Elise79' depending on the specific date and the availability on that date your fares are exactly the same in April and October whereas May is typically £30 more per person. I have no idea whether VA will release any specials, it's a bit of a gamble...

Have you considered flying out in Economy and then flying home in Premium Economy? a lot of people do this. It'd generally save around £225 if you only upgraded in one direction.

Hope this helps.
