Premier card worth it?

We have the regular free Disney Visa.
Wondering if the premier visa is worth the $49 per year.

We put everything on the card and pay it off every month. My whole trip will pretty much be free but I've been hoarding points for over 10 years (and we're staying at the campground).

Double the points seems good. I'll do the math to see if what we spend per year will actually get us $49 more in points.

But any extra perks? There isn't anything we'll be using this trip except maybe the 10% off a $50 purchase at the parks. We aren't going to HS so the only real perk is that meet n greet with a scary guy from a Star Wars movie I haven't seen yet. (Love Star Wars, just haven't seen the new movies yet).

Thanks for moving this to the right place.

I did some math and it looks like we will come close.

Are there any other perks? I looked around and couldn't find anything really. I think the current perks aren't that great (aside from the points).

Outside of the addition to the airline perks and the double rewards in the certain situations there really isn't any.

Why not just get a 2% cash back credit card? Are the Disney rewards worth 2%?

Because people won't compliment you on your cool Sorcerer Mickey card. If you go to Disney a lot it's nice to have the rewards kind of earmarked for the trip and the no interest periods and OBC for the cruise line are nice perks for the vacation. We haven't actually paid for a hotel room out of our own pocket in probably 3 years. We also take full advantage of the discounts at Downtown Disney.

Personally, I think there are far better reward cards to be had for travel. We tend to focus on cards that earn variable points which we can transfer to airlines, hotels or use as cash back and have that have better perks. We haven't paid for airfare or hotels out of pocket in several years. If the primary goal is taking advantage of the Disney card perks and earning 2% towards your Disney vacations you would be better off getting the Citi Double cash card which has no annual fee since you pay in full each month. You get 1% on your purchases and then an additional 1% when you pay your balance. Then also get the Disney Visa no fee version which would give you the same 10% off shopping perk, and 6 months of 0% APR on Disney vacation packages. We still keep the no fee Disney Visa card and only use it for booking Party for the Senses during F&W on early booking day and any other tours at WDW where the card holder get a better or equal discount compared to the discounts for annual passholders, DVC etc.

Interesting. I'll have to look into it. I've been very happy with the customer service I've gotten from Citi.
