My friend and I are planning a day trip to the Magic Kingdom in November. We are taking our little girls who are 2 and 3. She will be 6 months preggo at the time. Anyone have experience with this? Can you help me make a list of things she can and can't do?

I went to Disney 6 months pregnant last June. I only rode fantasyland rides, nothing else. Oh and Nemo. I just got a little tired, but it wasn't too bad. My doctor told me to drink lots of water.

i was there in march when i was 6ish months pregnant. we had a GREAT time! your friend can do everything except the thrill rides. i waited in line with my husband and then just went out the "scaredy cat" exits and waited for him in the gift shops. i went a little slower than usual but other than that it was just the same disney experience! oh! be sure to note where all the bathrooms are! poor dh spent so much time waiting for me to pee!

have fun!

I was just there on Sunday and I'm 31 weeks along which I think is about 7 months or so, and I can say now, I did get tired... my feet hurt and we were only there for 5-6 hours. I live about 45 minutes away aswell and my fiance and I went for a day trip too. I ended up going on the train around the park and the one in Tomorrow Land. I found out that I can't go on quite a few of the rides at Magic Kingdom due to being pregnant because of the bars (like Buzz Lightyear, etc). I did go on Pirates and walk around Tom Sawyer Island, but I didn't want to risk going on rides with the bars that push against your stomach. I felt so relieved to sit down whenever I did lol. Those stairs on Tom Sawyer island though, oh my goodness, that wore me out more than anything in itself. I can officially say now, that at the age of 19, I dislike stairs very much!

I don't know if that really answered your question, but that was my experience this past weekened. Haha :rotfl:

There are signs on the rides that will tell you if expectant mothers should ride. I paid attention to all of those except 2 at Animal Kingdom. I did go on the Safari, which was fine. I asked the attendant at Dinosaur why pg women shouldn't ride & he said you got bounced around a bit. I told him I just went on the safari which said the same thing & it was fine. He said Dinosaur was a little bumpier than Safari but not bad at all. Boy, was he wrong. I should have paid attention to the sign rather than a 20 year old male!

I found that the time I got to rest while the rest of my family went on rides I couldn't go on was really helpful. I found shaded areas & had some water or a snack. All in all, the trip went much better than I expected.

Really? Gah! I looked for those but couldn't find them. I was trying to find it for Pirates and a few other rides. I think I just didn't look hard enough, next time I'll look closer. I'm going sometime in late October for MNSSHP and then for free on my birthday, so I have atleast those two times to go before I get too tired to want to go to Disney.

Maybe I should have phrased it as there are signs on rides that say if expectant mothers should not ride on it. I didn't want to make it sound like it says you can or can't go on every ride. I went on Pirates no issue. It's more of the ones that have height req's that have the pg warning.

I was there at 7 months pregnant. Ditto the thrill rides.
I was fine. Just keep hydrated!

Ooh! Okay. I see what you mean. :)

I just returned from Disney last week *sigh* and I was 23 weeks pregnant, this was my second time pregnant at Disney. The first time I was a bit further along.

I was there with my DD 2 DS 4 and Mother...

I am pretty active on a daily basis, I run 3-5 miles a day. I really think it is all about what your body can do.

I asked my doctor before I left and he said that your body will protect the baby. I wasn't too worried about much and rode most rides (no TOT, Rockin' Roller Coaster...Dinosaur). We took an afternoon break every day (my kids still nap) and I drank a lot of water.

It was great to have little guilt about eating the food at Food and Wine....I really had a great trip.

Most important is to listen to your body and don't push it. You are the only one who knows what your body can/can't do.
Have a wonderful trip!!

BTDT--she can do everything the 2yo can do (unless 2yo is tall enough for Goofy's barnstormer, then she shouldn't do that).

I personaly would avoid the race cars as well unless she can ride in the car ahead of you and you stay a safe distance behind to avoid her getting rear ended by some smart aleck.

I went in August and I was just 21 weeks pregnant. I rode just about everything (no roller coasters, splash mountain) but I did Soarin and Toy Story Mania.

My biggest piece of advise is to keep well hydrated and eat plenty of small meals or snacks. The one day I did not do this I felt sick to my stomache and thought I was going to pass out. Other than that, I was fine. I rested when needed and did a lot of people watching.

I went back in Sept. 2007 when I was alittle over 7 mts and had gestational diabetes. Tell her to pace herself take her time, drink lots of liquids. I think I hit every bathroom. I waddled like a duck. I wish I had gotten one of those belly belt thingys. The food was torcher for me since I had to watch my sugar levels. You can go on allears.net to see which rides to avoid.

We went to Six Flags over the summer, and the rides ALL had the "No Expectant Mother" sign. I mean everything - even the stand-still, cemented-to-the-ground boat in Wiggles World. DH & I joked it was because of the tube slides - they did not want anyone to get stuck.

I went last year when I was 16 or 17 weeks pregnant and like other PP's have said I didn't do any of the thrill rides and paid attention to most of the signs. I did do Goofy's Barnstormer with my DD even though I know I shouldn't have and I also did the safari. Honestly the safari jostled me around a LOT more than Goofy's. If you do the safari my recommendation is to not sit near the front or back, try to get seats in the middle somewhere (granted you will be very noticeably pregnant I think and they may or may not let you ride) because the large bumps will probably be easier. Otherwise, takes breaks when you need them and keep up with your fluids and have a great time.

I went in January at about 22 wks. I second what everyone has said. No thrill rides...slow moving stuff was fine. I was tired easily and wouldn't have survived without going back for naps!! I spent a ton of time in the potty too :) but other than that, it was wonderful and we had a great time. I took lots of pics to look back and say "see when your first trip really was".....

I went to Disney in January when I was 5 months pregnant and had a great time! My trip report is at: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2052052

I rode all rides except for the Mountains, Mission to Mars, Test Track and other "thrill rides". I had a super easy pregnancy, so had no problems walking around the World and I certainly ate my way around Epcot!
Go, have fun and enjoy sleeping and floating around the pool.
