Pregnant at Universal, are these rides ok?

I am going to be 19 weeks pregnant this March when we are there. I have never done roller coaster so not concerned about "the Hulk" or any of those, but would like to do "Jaws" and "Earthquake", does anyone know if there are restrictions on these rides? I have been on them before and they seem fine but a friend just returned and thought she saw warnings on them. Any information would be great :flower1:

I don't know if they have warnings on them. Most rides do even MIB which is quite mild. They do that to protect themselves. You aren't forbidden to ride them just because you are pregnant though. It's your choice. I think Jaws and Earthquake will be fine as well as MIB.

If you have done Hulk while pregnant, I don't think there would be a problem riding Earthquake or Jaws, which seem mild in comparison (to me anyway! LOL). Of course, I am not a doctor nor do I play one on tv! ;)

Have a great time! :)

She's not worried about Hulk because she won't be doing it.

I was at Universal Studios/IOA in December right after I found out I was pregnant. The maps that you can pick up at the front of the parks list all rides that are not recommended for expectant mothers. Earthquake and Jaws are both on the list of rides that are not recommended.
There are three attractions that have stationary seats for expectant mothers: Shrek, Twister, and Jimmy Neutron.

I don't doubt that Jaws is on there but come on---it is a boat ride, no jarring moves are anything. You'll get bounced around more in the car ride over to Universal.

Oh geez, totally read that one wrong!!
I thought she said she had done hulk and was worried about Jaws and Earthquake! LOL

I have to agree with Phamton though, I can't imagine Jaws being that bad (like Phamton said, no jarring moves). If you ask me, Jimmy Neutron would be worse (in the motion seats)...That ride really shakes you around!

Am I missing something with Twister? There are stationary seats for this?? I have only been on this once and at that time, we were in the front row standing, but I don't remember it moving??

LOL, Bev! You're so right.

You'll recall that our opinions differed on what's OK to ride while pregnant in another thread not too long ago. But on this we agree. I would have no problem with either Jaws or Earthquake. Probably the only ride I would avoid while pregnant at the Studios would be The Mummy. Although, you could add Back to the Future to the list too. No need to compound any morning sickness;)

You do stand with Twister but remember at some point the platform you stand on jolts. Still it's nothing and I wouldn't hesitate to go on it while pregnant.

ask your DR. Some here on the DIS have reported that they were told they could do much more then they thought they could.

Okay, I remember the ceiling sort of falling down, but I don't know why I can't remember the floor jolting? LOL Oh well, I will just have to go on it next week and refresh my memory!

Thanks!
