Is there a list somewhere of what rides allow pregnant women, or don't allow pregnant women? I'm such a planner and would like to know in advance what rides I will and won't be allowed on. TIA!

Sorry, I don't have a list, but I do know you should be able to do a lot! A good friend of mine went to WDW when she was 6 months pregnant... she stopped by Guest Services at each park and they circled the rides she could do. Have a fun trip! And Congratulations!!!

I have been told anything that has a height restriction is not recommended for pregnant women.

The good news is you will still have lots to chose from.

Go with your doctor's directions - if he/she doesn't want you on jerky things or rollercoasters then follow the advise, but to be honest I think I did nearly everything (except ones that gave me motion sickness and space mountain/california screamin - and that's even when NOT pregnant) when I was about 7 months pregnant. My doctor said no big deal and sent me off to have fun.

We have been at DL since monday and my wife is 3 weeks before her due date. A big tip is to rent an ECV, but instead of renting from the parks, rent from a local company. If you rent from the parks, you can only use it in the parks, minus the hotel, DTD, etc. We used Universal Mobility. They deliver to your hotel (we stayed at GC) and pick it up after your done. The best part is you can use it everywhere.

you can go on any ride you want or your doctor will allow, i just got back from disneyland and there were ALOT of pregnant mommies out and about! Have fun!

I don't have an exact answer. But I'll tell you which rides I, personally, would avoid if I was pregnant.

Space Mountain
Star Tours
Big Thunder Mountain
Matterhorn
Indiana Jones
Pirates of the Caribbean
Splash Mountain
Autopia (your car could get bumped and the fumes are awful)
Canoes (okay, I'd skip this one no matter what...haha.)
Gadgets Go Coaster
I'd also probably skip the spinning rides like the Tea Cups

At DCA....
California Screamin'
Grizzly River Run
Maliboomer
Mulholland Madness
Tower of Terror

Hmm...those are the ones I can think of. It may seem like a lot of rides to skip but there are TONS of other fun rides to go on. And I suppose I'd personally skip a lot because I'd rather be safe than sorry. Is it really worth the risk just for 2 minutes of fun on a rollercoaster? Not for me.

Personally, it makes my blood boil when I see pregnant women get in line for rollercoasters and whatnot. Do they not read the HUGE warning signs beforehand?

I think that you will be the best judge of what you can and can't do. Common sense will surely dictate what might be appropriate.

To the do not ride list I would add Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin.

I have to disagree with not riding Pirates. I rode it several times during my pregnancy and had no problems. The drop is not that big and you don't hit like a ton of bricks like on Splash. IMO.

Thanks for all the replies! I asked my Dr. what his thoughts were and he said just to avoid any rides that had a lot of impact or anything with a Warning for Pregnancy sign. The good news is that my Doc said he was actually going to be at DL for a few of the same days as me. Maybe I'll even run into him.

Well, I did say all of the spinning rides, like the tea cups. However, you can ride Roger Rabbit and not spin the car at all...which I've done before. And as far as pirates...as I said, I'm a "better safe than sorry" kind of gal.

Boy, it's hard having thin skin on these boards. I should have just stuck to lurking.

Don't let Mrs Bee influence your posting decisions, seems to me she's a bit prickly anyway. :) JMHO, no flaming needed, it's just what I notice in her recent posts. I've never been able to stop the RR car from spinning.....nor has my SO who is pretty strong. :)

As for pg women waiting in line, that doesn't mean they are going to ride it, sometimes people will wait in line with their families or SO and then not do the actual ride. I wouldn't want to wait outside while everyone else rode Indy.

There will be tons that you can still do, but I would just do what your dr. says and avoid the bumpy and jerky rides. Oh and I would do Pirates, it's not that much of a drop and there is not a big impact at the end either.

Have FUN!

Just to clarify, Mrs Bee I'm not trying to single you out or pick a fight. It's just my observation that some of your posts are a bit prickly. Hopefully you aren't offended and can understand that altho you may not mean it that way it's hard to tell what you mean by what you type. :)

Thanks pixiewings71. I try not to let things bother me but sometimes can't help it. And I ALWAYS edit my posts before I hit submit to make sure to not offend anyone else.

Just so I can clarify...I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with you or anyone else riding pirates pregnant. I just said that since I am more of a paranoid "safe than sorry" kind of person, I wouldn't. I don't have a problem with pregnant people riding that one. (If I saw pregnant woman get into an Indiana Jones jeep or a car on California Screamin'...well, I'd have some strong opinions about that one....but then again, it's sometimes hard to tell if people are pregnant or just carrying extra weight in the midsection.)

Riiight. Keep telling yourself that.
Have a good evening.

On POTC my good friend did it no problem both pregnant and with her DS. In fact many mother's find it s "private" place to relax and nurse.

Yes you should use your own care and listen to your doctors advice! And OP how funny you might see your DR. haha!

Disneyland posts the pregancy disclaimers to protect themselves in case anybody miscarries on one of their rides. Does this mean you're going to have a miscarriage? No. Does it mean you can? Absolutely. Ask your doctor prior to visiting to ensure you don't risk losing your child or your own life.

Ultimately it's your body and your child. It's all about what is more important to you. Your child's health or a brief ride at an amusement park. I've comforted many friends through their miscarriages and would never want anybody I know and love to suffer that ordeal.

/not a woman
//married and would never allow my wife on many Disneyland rides while pregnant.
///Disneyland is not intended as a form of contraception.

I rode it pregnant (no problems) and yes nursed many times on it as well!

Maybe it's why my kids have never been afraid of dark rides....:lmao:

But I definitely stayed away from the "warning" rides too, and mainly did Fantasyland etc. I did have many, many people stop me on one visit 1 month before my due date with DS (I was huge) and tell me that going on the rides would make me go into labor! To which I replied, "Please!!!! Let's hope so!"

So just be prepared for people to make comments about you riding Peter Pan haha!!!!
