Allicat,
This is my first time at this site in a LONG time, and I have posted many times before. But just browsing,I read your post about preferred rooms at ASMusic. We have stayed at the Music resort two times. Our first time,we asked for a room in a quiet section,as far from foot traffic as possible.( I value my quiet time when in my room). That time,we were there Labor Day week, which is in the value season, and our room was only $54.00 a night!!!!! Our room was located in the Broadway section,in the back of the resort, facing the woods.Perfect! The only thing that we didn't like about it,was the fact that we had to walk the entire complex to get up to the checkin building, where we would catch the buses. After a full day on your feet, that walk seemed to take forever;especially when you're tired with two kids. But last year in2002,we stayed there again,at ASMusic. But this time,we stayed there in October;checking in on the 2nd,which is the last day of the value season rates.Again,we stayed there for $54.00 a night, and stayed nine nights instead of just seven.Value rate applied to our entire stay, even though only one night was actually in the value season! But here is my main reason for replying to your post:Last year, when we checked in,the resort had already assigned us to a room;and let me tell you where it was.It was on the second floor facing the parking lot, which was basicly blocked out by the excellent landscaping. But it was in the section called Calypso! Right up next to the main building for checkins and bus catching;not to mention such a short walk to the food court to eat! We had as it appears to be called,a preferred room for the very same price as we paid the year before for a room in the far back.(Even though I requested the far room). But at the time of the year when we go,the crowds are considerbly smaller, the weather is a lot more pleasant(yes we went swimming;pools are heated),and the rate is a lot cheaper at that time.So my point is this:IF during the peak seasons and regular seasons,a room close to the main building is considered a preferred room, costing approx $10 more than the rest, and we stayed in one of them during October, the value season;then hopefully that is the info you are looking for.I just wanted to let you know, since I read the other replies to you, that if your dates are adjustable, try the value season,it's great! Honestly,I was a little weary at first,by staying in a room so close to the activities, but facing the opposite side from the pool was perfect! NO noise, no hassles. This year,we want to stay at AS Movies.
Sorry about the book.
