Another question about this. I just rang the number to book it as per Disney UK instructions. After 20 minutes on the phone being shunted from one place to another as nobody had ever heard of it, I was passed to someone who knew about it and said I must take my confirmation invoice and photo ID to the park on the day and do it at Guest Relations. Disney UK states it must be pre-booked up to 180 days in advance. Grrrrrrr

How did you guys do it?

I just called the number on the voucher issued by Disney UK and had no problems. I reserved the day we wanted and was told to give the vouchers to a CM at the preferred area. When we got there, there was a couple of CM's making sure that only those with vouchers got in - they had a checklist with names etc on it.

Maybe call again and hopefully get someone who knows what they are doing.

So did you only book yours just before you left? YOu only get the Vouchers sent to you a week or two before departure. Or are you talking about the confirmation invoice?

Don't bother with the Wishes one, really DON'T BOTHER!

The first time, we made the reservations from home via the number that is given.

Last time, we had our voucher but forgot to make reservations for the Illuminations one. We just walked up and gave the voucher, our name wasn't on the list, but that didn't seem to matter. Might be because it wasn't busy though

Call again, apparently you got some CM's that didn't know what to do. ;)

At my 180 day mark I called WDWdine (USA, cheaper for me to call USA than UK :lmao: ). It did mean they had to connect me to somebody that could help me out, but the CM knew exactly what I was talking about. Sure enough, made my reservations, got a confirmation# for both and check in time.

Okay, so I call the normal dining ressie line WDW-DINE in the US and someone should know what it is? Did you just give your US reservation number? I wish they would ensure that their system is equipped to deal with this. The staff were lovely but they passed me to four different CMs and eventually the person who know about it, said they can't retrieve reservation nos as they just deal with dining. I wonder how many calls this is going to take.

i don't mind doing it tomorrow or whenever as I seriously doubt there is an urgency anything like with ADRs. Nonetheless, it is just one more thing on the "outstanding" heap that I would prefer to be done and dusted.

You could just wait until you get there and then sort it out at guest relations

Seriously? Great. :goodvibes Thanks. :thumbsup2

I wish Disney would get all their offices on the same page. UK office told me on more than one occasion that I HAVE to pre-book through the dining no. and should aim to do it 180 days out. Obviously this is not the case.

Can I do it at my resort guest services, or should I get to the park first?

I also called the USA line due to the ridiculous costs of the calls to the UK one. I wouldn't mind as much if I knew I wasn't going to spend up to an hour on hold.

Just a useful tip for anyone calling the USA line (an of them for that matter). They are voice activated and respond to what you say. Well I sneezed at an inopportune moment and everything went Spanish! :rotfl2: So I had to redial and start over.

Called Disney UK again today and they said I have to phone through the UK line to do it. Urrgggh! So much contradicting information.

Last year I rang the number given on the voucher, that came a few weeks before our travel date and was given a reservation number. We were told to take the vouchers & res.no. to the Mococco Pavillion Boat Landing. As DH forgot our vouchers, we were isssued with replacements at our resort, it does state that voucher will not be replaced, but a very kind cm sorted it for us. Anyway, that means that I still have the vouchers & it gives the following info, Advance reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance & may be made within 90 days(180 this year)prior to requested viewing date by contacting WDTC-UK reservations on 08702424900 & choosing option 4. Or if you are already in Resort you can reach WDTC-UK reservations by dialling the Orlando number at 407 939 7718. Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps a lot. The US number is different - obviously as it is not the dining number. On my email from Disney UK it says to call the dining reservation number. That is obviously where the problem came in. I will give it a shot tonight and if I don't come right with it, I will take the other good advice and sort it at resort.

Hope you get sorted. We went on our 4th day & quite a few people were there, but plenty of space was available. You can stand anywhere on the pathway that leads to the jetty, ds & I stood along the wall but dh prefferred to lean on the railings, some stood on the top slope. We thought it was worth doing, the globe was fantastic, so close up.

Think we will book this one too...just got to decide which day we are actually going to stay in Epcot to watch the fireworks! :rotfl:

Luv Suzy

Tried to book this (Epcot only!) last Aug at 90 days (same as our dining) and it was fully booked for our entire stay. Booked this year at 180 days and got the date I wanted no problem. Also has to speak to quite a few CMs til I got someone who knew what I was talking about. Not sure what number I used as I had not received voucher when I callled, but did a Disboards search and used number I found on here.

You can have any reservations made onsite at any guest services. DTD, at the parks, at the resort; anywhere. Dining, tours, special events, partys; anything with availability. :goodvibes Beware though that it is based on availability and now can be booked at 180 days out. I obviously don't know how important those 180 days are, especially if you're at the world for a longer time and flexible when wanting to do the firework viewing, so on that department I'm off no help AT ALL. ;)

As posted before, I simply called 001-407-WDW-DINE and told what I was looking for. Was transferred. At first the CM sounded a bit confused when hearin my conf# (the dreaded ABC12345 WDTC UK also hands out as it being the USA one, instead of the 12 digit one) but it took her about 2 minutes to pull everything up and make the ADR's.

Thanks stephensmum! I followed your instructions and got it booked :thumbsup2

Glad you're all sorted, hope you enjoy it.

I picked an Epcot day at the beginning of our trip. I figured in the highly unlikely event that Illuminations was cancelled due to weather, it would give me time to reschedule if possible. I am really excited about this one - Illuminations brings tears to my eyes. :cloud9:

Thanks stephensmum! I followed your instructions and got it booked :thumbsup2

Me too!!

I didnt even know we had to book these!! I did all my ADRs at the start of Feb and panicked reading that we should have booked the Illuminations Viewing at 180 days too!!

So thank you 2Tiggies AND Stephensmum!!!
