Well we are on our countdown to our Friday, December 2nd take off.

The travelers:

Dad & Mom: 70 something
Me: Single 30 something – waiting for my prince

My last trip to the world was Sept 2005 and my friends and I had a most awesome stay at my home resort of Saratoga Springs.

This trip will be quite different, as I will be taking my parents.

Our last tip together was two years ago, for their 50th Anniversary. Since that time Dad has had a heart attack followed by a triple by pass and Mom is beginning to be “ very forgetful”. I can see how they have aged over the last two years.

We plan to have a nice relaxing visit to WDW and Orlando. Our itinerary of WDW activates include: VMCP, Candlelight Processional, Osborne Lights, visiting the resorts & downtown Disney in all their Christmas Splendor, a Golf outing, Comedy Club and Adventures Club at PI, and maybe Jellyrolls.

Dining reservations include, 50s Prime Time Café, Citricos, Rose & Crown, & 1900 Park Fare. I am looking forward to Citricos and Rose & Crown as we have never sampled those restaurants.

Our Non-WDW activities: seeing “ICE” at the Gaylord Palms Resort and maybe some outlet shopping, possibly a ride to Celebration. We have family in the Orlando area so we will be visiting with them as well.

This trip we will be making several resort transfers, ( this has me a little anxious). Our WDW resorts will be Saratoga Springs and the Grand Floridian. Our out of Disney resort is Wyndham Palms Resort & Country Club. We are staying for a total of 11 nights.

I am feeling really happy, very anxious and very reflective of all the trips made with my parents over the last 30 years. Can’t wait till Friday !!!!!

Your plans sound wonderful. My parents joined us last year for the Candlelight Processional and really enjoyed it. Make sure you pack warm clothes because it was very cold. I am also going to the Gaylord Palms Ice show/exhibit. Many of my friends here went last year and raved about it. I am also so glad they brought back the Osbourne lights.

The Grand Floridian is never prettier than during the holidays!

Have a wonderful trip with your parents. Mine are getting older and spending time with them is one of my favorite things to do. Christmas time is the best time to visit WDW in my opinion.

Thanks for the response ! I agree Christmas time is the best time of the year to visit WDW world. The Grand Floridian is at its best during the holidays.

We plan to pack warm clothes but hope not to have to use them. Hoping for warm non humid weather in the 70s.

I've too have had friends rave about ICE and heard that it was not to be missed !!!

Hope you have a great time !!

There is a good chance you will experience 70's in the daytime but it gets really cold in the evening. So cold, the past few years, that we even brought blankets with us. That is if you plan on seeing the late candlelight show.
Enjoy your vacation!

I hope your right about the weather ! We plan to see the second show of the Candlight and have our dinner reservations afterward at Rose & Crown. I would love to try to get an outside dinning seat for Illuminations, however it maybe too cold for Mom to enjoy al fresco dining. So we maybe requesting an indoor seat.

OH have a wonderful trip!!
I would love to go this time of year sometime!!

In twelve hours I will be in the Happiest place on Earth !!!!!

Pixie Dust to Everybody !!!!!!!!
