I agree with V. POR is wonderful! That is the first resort DH and I stayed at and he keeps asking when we will return. I love the bus service there and it is nice having access to 2 pools (with slides), 2 food courts, a wonderful table service and boat access to POFQ and DTD. Alligator Bayou also has trundle beds so you can sleep 5 comfortably if you need bed space for 5. This is the only Mod resort with rooms able to fit 5 people.

Well, I'll say this: I LOOOOVED POR when we stayed there last Dec. I loved it so much, I had reservations about buying into DVC, knowing that I'd likely not be staying at POR again. It was THAT good. The pool got a from my DS, even though it was too cold to stay in it more than 5 minutes! It has my favorite Mod. food court. The mansion part isn't my taste, but Alligator Bayou was terrific; beautiful pathways, quiet, green courtyards. The whole place just felt so relaxing

I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the All Stars, so by all means take this with a grain of salt!

Oh V.....I soooooooooo agree now that I really looked into it. I went onto Allears.net and looked at pictures and a map. I am in love Please send some pixie dust my way as I "convince" hubby. I know he will love it too once he sees it.

I see that you have a family of 5 like me. It really makes it harder to find a good rate. Are you staying in a suite or booking 2 rooms at the AS? Which All-star are you going to? We love the All-stars but, similarly, I noticed that you can book 5 into the PORR. It's on our list for next resort. Unless I can save enough to do CR between this years trip and the next one.

Hi again Buffy!!! We just booked one room at Sports. The "baby" can sleep in the pack and play. However if we change resorts, they have a terrific trundle bed. That would just be ideal. Keep watching...changes may be in store! I may need to make a really good dinner tonight for this one... and some other things

Also, all Mod. resort rooms have refrigerators. It is an extra charge at the Values. I don't know if this was mentioned by another poster. Hope this helps!

Oh, very good point!!! We can refigerate all the food we bring home cause we cant eat everything they give us on the meal plan!!!
Actually, my littlest love milk so the fridge is perfect. Hmmmm, does the food court area have a microwave? Probably I am guessing.

Another vote here for POR we stayed there in 2005 and loved it!

I fell in love with it too, at least by the pics! The landscaping and quiet areas and pools and neat rooms...really its hard to compare to All Stars. Not that I have a problem with Values. We had a perfectly nice stay there last year. OK well thank you so much for your feedback. I will let you know how it goes!

Your girls are adorable!!!! Absolutely darling! I agree that the nick hotel looks really great, but man oh man those prices are through the roof!!

I hope you get to stay at POR, maybe we would see you at the pool since our days are overlapping some!! Miss V's pics of the aliigator bayou section are awesome, they make me more excited to stay there! I put in a request for mansions when I booked, but **suprise** we may have an additional guest so I may be changing it to the bayou section to take advantage of the trundle bed.
I think you have some great ADR's booked, since we are eating at practically all the same places! Too bad on different days!

Hi there MD!!! I know you!! Thanks! Glad to see you made it here! Oh wouldnt that be sooooo cool if we met up! I am going to request buildings 14, 15 or 27 in AB section, first floor of course. I can hardly sit still waiting for hubby to get home. I will post tonight and let everyone know how it went.

Boys and their toys!!! We just have one camera right now. I will tell my hubby about it. Maybe he will get it early for Father's Day. Or he can get it for me for my birthday... Great camera and pics!

Impropto Mini Segway Installment

Popcorn anyone??? Coffee?? OK here goes:

So, as I mentioned yesterday morning, I just went crazy for staying at POR! I loved all the pics you all sent me and the pixie dust too. So this is what happened when DH got home:
I showed him AAA quotes that they had emailed me comparing POR to ASSports. It was only $100 more. Well, have you ever heated a pan of oil and then splashed a half a cup of water into the hot pan???? Yeah, that pretty much describes DH's reaction to the change in plans.


Fortunately, the story doesn't end there. He "cooled off", apologized and I was able to show him what I found out about POR. He was actually agreeable at this point. I told him about all the activities like fishing, boating, pools with slides, bigger room, trundle bed, fridge, not to mention the beauty of the resort. So, we had to call John, DH's friend, to update him. Plus we still needed to know their plans. Ya well, thats when John, Mr. Indecisive, completely changed my well-layed plans!!
