if you buy in at the pre sale time do they just offer the year points you have coming or is there addition points offered as an incentive for not being able to use your points at the present time? we have SSR points and I am leaning towards add on, I was going to post request for transfer for a family trip in 2007 for shortage I was going to have in my points, but now I think it will become harder to get transfer under the new direction they are going.

I have a use year of aug. if I would add on at different resort would I have a different use year at that one?

I think I just missed getting to getting 2005's points since I am now in my use year, it isn't my fault he has been out of the office all week.

If you are doing an add-on, it will have the same Use Year as your master contract. If there are no points available in your Use Year except for the unfinished SSR buildings, they would likely sweeten the offer with some developer points. Most likely thay will have August Use Year points remaining in the completed buildings and you'd get current points immediately (which is a better deal anyway, IMO). If you add on at one of the other resorts- it will also have the August Use Year- but there will be no incentive. Those are only for SSR at this time.

The Pre-Sale would be likely available to you for a purchase of 150 points (or more) and then you could choose your Use Year since that wouldn't be an add-on.

I just called the guild that sold us our first contact last year and he claims that I can only get this years points cause it is now aug which is my use year, and he will throw in 2 one day tickets if I do the 50 points. I really want 2005 points like I got when we purchased the orginal contract so we can do a family gathering. guess they aren't to big a hurry to get my money. I would rather get someone to transfer me the points it would save me a bunch of money, but think it will become harder to get transfers now

That's correct, they can only give you current points (you got "current" points before- they just happened to be from the 2005 Use Year). At this point in time any remaining Aug, 2005 points from any of the resorts have already expired and are no longer available. If you had a Sep Use Year (or October or Dec) you would still get 2005 points. If you had purchased the add-on a month ago, you would have still gotten 2005 points.

Just think of it as getting current points when you purchase thru Disney. If you want to find a ocntract with August 2005 points at this time, you'd need to find a resale purchase with banked points.
