Pre-Paid Amex card...can I use them?

Maybe not what they really are called? Like the Amex Giftcards that you can pick up in the store... $50 or so. Can I use that to pay for things at WDW, or should I attempt to use it at Target to buy a Disney gift card? (My husband can get one with some reward points at work, wasn't sure if it was worth it...or would it be a huge hassle?)

I had a few from xmas I brought with me on spring break. You can for sure use them for CS or regular stores but they wouldn't go through easily paying on hotel or any table service because of the cc system.

Had a hard time about two years ago with an AmEx gift card at the hotel front desk. Gift cards are tricky the way their system is set up. I walked literally 20 ft. to the hotel shop and bought a $100 Disney gift card with my $100 AmEx gift card, explaining to the cashier what I was trying to do since I remember that some places don't allowing purchasing a gift card with another gift card. No problem using the AmEx at the gift shop, walked back to the front desk with the Disney gift card and had no problem getting that one applied.
