Dose anybody else get crazy right before their trip? Feel like they haven't planned enough? Plan all they can on the plane to Disney? I know I do.
With the Customized Maps Website down. And with no more ADR.( Though I have been trying to get Chef Mickey's for 13 days around 10 times a day I finale got an ADR today on the first try:cloud9: ) I'm Freakin' out. Yet I love that I'm freaking out about going to Disney. Dose that make sense?

I have all my ADR's made, my MNSSHP ticket bough, I know what CS places I want to eat at on which day, and not only do I know which park I'm going to be at each day, I have a pretty good idea of what rides I'm going to do on each day. And I feel I need to plan some more. All I have left to do, is to book the Food and Wine Festival events. I hate having nothing to plan.

That's why I love the boards! When everyone else in the "regular world" thinks your nuts, this is the one place where we can sincerely say "yep, we totally understand!" ;)

I feel a let down, when I have nothing left to plan, but there is also allot of SHOPPING I need to do before my trips!! I really have nothing left to plan now, just need to get stuff for our trip, so that is keeping me happy for now.

Dh asked me this morning what I was working on. He rolled his eyes when I said planning out what we'll wear every day on our trip. :rotfl2: Well DS has to wear his Star Wars stuff to MGM and DD wears Tink to the MK and I'm a scrapbooker so we all have to be somewhat color coordinated......... Yeah I'd say I have a touch of the crazies right now! :rotfl:

I'm always planning, right up to the second we leave. Actually when we went this past January, I was planning things even in the car on the way to WDW!! It wasn't big things, just little bits like... Adding things to my Souvenir Shopping List, looking over DDP snacks that I wanted to get... You know; little things.

And I agree... It's all just part of the fun! I've seen alot of people on the DIS comment that planning a trip to WDW is just as fun as actually going. I totally agree with that!!

I don't worry about the actual trip itself as far as packing, what to do while we're there, etc. But about a week before I get so anxious about someone getting sick that we couldn't leave on our scheduled day, or having bad weather that we can't fly out (that did happen once & we lost a whole day!), or the car breaking down on the way to the airport, etc. Every complaint of a sniffle, cough or upset stomach has me awake all night long worried.

I do agree with OP that the months of planning are half the fun! Ok, maybe not HALF, but a quarter!

Stages of a WDW obsessive planner:

I plan for over a year, then start second guessing my itinerary about 3 month in (the stage I am at right now) Of course all my ADRs are already made, so second guessing would mean canceling and rebooking ADRs so I try so hard to stick with the original plan.

Then a month to a few weeks before I start wondering if I am missing something. Then I worry that I won't have enough time in the "one day parks" like MGM and AK. In which point the people I am going with want to slap me.

A week before I go over my shopping list and make sure I have everything I need for my trip and worry all week that I am missing something.

On the plane ride there I am going over my itinerary, park maps, note cards trying to make sure I know what the hell I am doing.

The night before each park I study the itinerary and park map once more.

The morning of as we are driving/busing/monorailing I am still reading everything making sure I didn't miss something.

Then on the flight back I make notes of what went wrong and could be better next time and things I saw and would like to to my next trip.

We just made our reservations for our October Disneymoon in June! Since then, I've been VERY excited, but also a little nervous about the lack of time and planning that we've had...
I made my ADR's (FINALLY!!) a few weeks ago. Luckily, I was able to get all of the reservations I wanted.
The main issue right now is pying off the vacation. Since a lot of money has been spent on the wedding, our budget is pretty tight. We need to fiish paying it off by August 15th and I'm pretty nervous about that, but I am certIN that everything will work out. ;)

Hi! Yes, we leave in two days and I feel crazed! :scared1: Picked up everything we need already, just have to pack. I am second guessing what park I planned for us to visit everyday and all our ADR's, the times I chose to eat, etc. :rotfl: :dance3:

I love this board, I got so many great ideas, I wish I had found it sooner!!!

I feel like I am losing my mind! I'm kind of sick of myself. I cannot turn off the Disney in my brain. I spend WAY too much time on these boards! These next 16 days are going to drag by.

OMG emer95 - I know what you mean by "sick of myself" - I check DIS all day, and when I'm not online with that I'm thinking about the trip. Insane! I need to get more hours at work or something to force myself to get back in the real world!

We never plan anything. Our family likes to go and do whatever we feel like doing at that time. It seems to work for us.

We don't go til September, but I'm driving my DH absolutely nuts. I only made one ADR for the first night we're there @ Cape May, but I'm trying to figure out which park to visit the day we arrive - figure out how to get from resort to Cape May or park to Cape May. Then which park to do the next day with only AK having EMH. By September I'll be nuts.........LOL!!! :confused3 I know my co-workers will be so glad when Disney is done because I'm obsessing..............:hourglass

I'm not the only one that gets these disney Crazy's. THANK GOD! But I'm still worried that the customized Maps Site won't be up in time for my trip:scared: Hope so. Any body know when it is going t go back up? I have already taken extreme measures by e-mailing Disney. No response from them yet.

I feel crazy right now! We leave in a week and I feel like I'm missing lots of stuff. I just know something will get left behind or I made the wrong choices for dinning or parks, but oh well, too late to change now. DH is in Korea and will be home in 3 days for our trip  so I haven't gotten to see him rolling his eyes, but I can hear it in his voice when I tell him what I'm planning or what else needs to be done :lmao: That's why I love the DIS, I know I'm not alone.

I go through several phases of crazy.
About 2 months before, I obsess about where we're going to eat and get our ADR's made.
1 month before I start shopping. I also insist that everyone wear outfits that go with the theming of each park/activity so that we look coordinated on the scrapbook pages. I look for safari colored clothing for AK, princess colors for MK etc. I was very excited last week when I found a red top with white polka dots that I thought would be perfect for photos with Minnie, but realized after i'd bought it that she's wearing a blue dress this year. Oh well.
Now I'm at 17 days to go and I'll start packing today. DH thinks I'm nuts, but this is actually a practical thing to do because when I see how much I have accumulated it will make me stop shopping.
Throughout each phase of craziness, I compulsively check the DISboards.
I still feel the same excitement I felt before our first trip. There's just nothing else that compares to it.

I might as well post this here, since I'm sure to get support. But, someone asked me yesterday why I don't "expand my horizonns," and go somewhere else.
