What the heck is it about cruising that gives people nightmares? I know I'm not the only one.

We cruise in May, and last night the nightmares started :lmao:

In this episode, Kim&Chris forgot to pack any clothes for the cruise. When we realized this, we were already at the airport but managed to race back home and grab some T-shirts (for some reason, all we grabbed were T-shirts...no underwear, no shoes, :confused3), then drove back to the airport just in time to see our plane pull away from the gate. :sad1:

Prior to our previous cruise, I dreamed that the Wonder was a ferry boat, and when we boarded we saw a bunch of other cruisers standing around holding onto the ceiling-to-floor handrails (like the ones on the Disney buses), waiting for the ship to depart.

I can guarantee I'll have at least a dozen additional nightmares before the day we cruise :rotfl2:

LOL don't worry you aren't the only one! Its my partner Dan's first cruise and this last few weeks all I've done is panic and dream about things going wrong. We're not cruising til September so I'm hoping this is a minor blip lol! So far we've had:

Him being sea sick every night of the cruise and having to be taken off leaving me alone on a cruise ship lol!

Him not coming out of the room for days because he refuses to wear Slacks and just wants to wear jeans every night that isn't formal or semi formal!

Oh and my favourite - Barcelona being at war (dont ask) with itself and Dan volunteering to go help rather than getting on the cruise!

Very odd dreams!

That's hilarious! Nothing like dreams that you had, to make sure you have EVERYTHING in order for a vacation!

We leave this Friday for Florida (on the Wonder on Sunday) and I am starting to get in panic mode for everything we need to do!

I dreamed that as we arrived to our room at 1:30 on boarding day our cat was delivered along with our luggage. Now in my dream I was really angry about having to deal with the stupid cat on a 14 day vacation. I can't wait to see what other weird dreams I have between now and Sept.

Anytime I'm in major planning mode I have travel nightmares (regardless of the type of vacation). It usually always entails me looking at the clock and realizing in a panic that we have to be at the airport in 10 minutes and we aren't even packed.

It's really the most ridiculous reoccuring dream! I am already half packed and we still have 2 months to go. lol. Even if I had to grab and go now I'd be better off than in my dreams:)

I am going on my 5th Disney Cruise this year and the other night I dreamt that the ship traveled under water and I was nervous to get on and everyone kept telling me, "don't worry! they do this all the time!" :confused3

Hi TMBacon! You're cruising with me! Lucky you! :rotfl:

I always get nervous prior to a cruise. I'm excited, but the nerves are at an all time high. I'm sure that there is something that I've forgotten or I'm scared that a bag will get lost, etc... It starts creeping into my dreams about a week prior or worse, I just cannot sleep at all...

I feel completely unprepared for this cruise, since I normally plan to the minute, and for this cruise we are trying a more laid back approach. It's giving me fits!!

Also, our beloved dog is getting old fast, and I'm scared to death that something will happen to her while we are gone, and my family will have to take care of her or make decisions on our behalf. I don't want to put that on anyone...

I need some warm sunshine and some Mickey time to help calm me down!

Oh my goodness, I get these all the time! I couldn't believe it when I had one 1.5 years out! And I know from experience the closer we get, DCL usually becomes an almost nightly part of my dreams (though thankfully, not always a bad one ;) )

The funniest one I had: We had just embarked on the ship (which was docked at the Magic Kingdom) when we were told that this was NOT the ship we were taking, that we were actually cruising on this tiny thing docked next to us that just happened to look EXACTLY like those Nemo subs at DL.

Then there was the one where we were upgraded to a suite, and when were arrived it was GINORMOUS, but the walls were also all rusty, and the balcony covered in slime and puddles of water. Yaaaaay...upgrade :rolleyes1

And of course, the one where we'd boarded the ship, and were walking around when DH suddenly remembered he'd forgotten to complete a project at work. So he gave me a kiss, dove off the back of the boat, and started swimming to shore. I was still mad when I woke up.:rotfl:

Though full disclosure: I'm 36 and still having dreams that it's the end of the school year and I suddenly realize I've forgotten to attend a class the entire semester. Sheeeeeesh. Some of us just have a very active dream life ;)

We don't even have a cruise till May and the other morning hubby was awakened by a phone call (which caused him to remember his dream) and informed me that he had dreamed we got to the port and realized we had no luggage or passports. I dream about DCL every now and then but usually it's about being onboard the ships or at Castaway Cay rather than a nightmare.

HAHA! These dreams are hilarious. :)

I also had a dream that we reached the port, and the Wonder looked an awful lot like the SS Minnow (from Gilligan's Island). Holes, tilted to one side, wood planks, the whole nine yards.....I remember saying to my husband "we paid all that money for THIS?".

It's weird, but I never have these types of dreams about going to WDW. The dreams are only DCL-related :rotfl:

I always have these dreams!!! I have them before WDW too, totally freak me out every time LOL!

I always had the dream of forgeting the passports

ME TOO!!! :rotfl: Always, Always have dreamed this!!! So much so that I have to check and double check and then tripple check as we are pulling out of the driveway.

Here's a crazy one...A few days before our 2nd WDW trip I had a dream that we were at the airport just waiting to board our flight to Disney when we realized that we had left our Pal Mickey at home and wanted to drive back to get him!!!!

Yes we loved using our Pal Mickey at the parks and that's how I even picked my DIS user name...but dreaming about him...wow :lmao:

We dont sail for a year and yet I too am having dreams about our trip...hmm could it be that DISboards has now become a part of my bedtime ritual every day...not to mention my wake up ritual, and my lunchtime ritual, and my....lol. Addcited??? Absolutely and loving every minute of it!!

I always had the dream of forgeting the passports

This is always my biggest fear. I can go with no clothes, but without a passport, I will be sitting on the shore when the ship pulls away.

By the way, on our last 4 day cruise, we forgot one of the suitcases in the car. My 11 year old granddaughter's. Thankfully, it didn't include all of her clothes -- and her swimsuit was in the carry on. We ended up shopping in Nassau and on the ship to find stuff for her to wear.
