Pre-check with children?

I can say no...traveled with the granddaughters, 8, 10, 10 and both my husband and I are tsa precheck. Bought all 5 tickets, both SW down and JetBlue home. Both of ours had precheck both ways, but none of the grand girls had it on their tickets either way. They are all FF members on both airlines...., but they all came through with us. Before we signed up for precheck, I always got it, but husband got is sometimes. For $17 per year, it's worth it.

Maybe I wasn't clear. My daughter received a boarding pass with precheck after she turned 13. Precheck for anyone younger is pointless because they go though with the adult. She never had precheck on her boarding pass before she turned 13, even though my wife and I both have it.

Ok. We probably won't find out. We plan to take our granddaughter for her precheck when she turns 13. We only fly about 10 times a year, but with all of us having precheck, we don't want to stand in the regular line with her if she doesn't get it.

FWIW, My DD9 gets "TSA PRE" printed on her SWA BP any time she travels with me. She has had a Rapid Rewards account since birth. I can't swear to this, but I believe that the reason it happens is that several of the identifying fields on her RR account are identical to mine. SWA apparently ties young kids' accounts to parent's if certain parameters match (in her case, the email, the phone number and the address of record are identical on both RR accounts.) I'm not sure what will happen if she travels alone with her Dad, as in his case, the only matching parameter is the address; they haven't flown together without me since we signed up for Pre-Check.

If I'm correct, it stands to reason that unless the accompanying adult with PreCheck is the child's legal guardian, grandchildren would not have that happen, because their RR accounts probably do not have enough matching identifiers to link them to the grandparent's account.
