Prayers needed for a sweet 3yr old little boy and his family UPDATE

I hope all goes well. My then 3 yo niece was in heart failure a few years ago. We we not sure if she would make it through it. She's inkindergarten now and doing good , but will have more surgeries down the road. My youngest is 3 now. I pray for the best v

It is with great, great sadness that I tell you that our prayers were not answered. Through out the night last night Rick's intracranial pressure continued to increase to an extremely high level. And then his blood pressure and heart rate began to increase as well. We were just waiting for the EEG to be performed this morning so we could determine the extent of the brain damage. The EEG showed that our sweet, sweet boy is brain dead. Medical exams done by two different doctors and a cerebral blood flow study confirmed the finding of brain death.

The ventilator and medicines are still keeping his little body alive. We have decided to donate Rick's organs so that in death he can give life to others. We will have to stay at the hospital until after midnight so they can coordinate the donations.

My deepest sympathy to his family. Another sweet angel has gone to heaven...you can rest assured that my aunt will keep great watch over this sweet boy as she was the most generous, caring and loving person I know.

May God grant his family the strength they will need to get through this most difficult time, and what a wonderful act of donating his organs. Despite their hearts' breaking, they will surely bring some Christmas peace to other families with ill children with their organ donations.

Poor little sugar. Rick really will be a Christmas miracle for those families on the organ donor list.
