I know everyone is praying for everyone in Haiti, but please remember Dr. David Hall, a former Hartford Hospital physician, who is missing. It was believed that he was seen after the earthquake but there is no confirmation yet.

Farmington Doctor Missing In Haiti

FARMINGTON — - Dr. David Hall, a member of the Farmington-based nonprofit FaithCare, flew into Port-au-Prince shortly before the devastating earthquake Tuesday afternoon. He was scheduled to meet with a pastor at 4 p.m. to discuss a mission trip that FaithCare was planning to take in February.

Hall is now unaccounted for, says Barbara Grey, executive director of the organization, and remained so as of 4 p.m. Thursday.

FaithCare has heard reports through the grapevine that Hall was spotted after the earthquake, but they haven't received confirmation, Grey said. Members of the nonprofit have been on the Internet, sending e-mails and making phone calls trying to contact Hall or anyone close to him, but they haven't been able to get any information.

Hall's wife also hasn't heard from him, Grey said.

Hall, formerly of Hartford Hospital and now based in Fort Myers, Fla., is a 59-year-old survivor of five heart attacks, and his heart medication runs out Friday, Grey said. She has been sending photos of him to media outlets and to all their contacts in Haiti hoping someone will find him and send FaithCare confirmation that he is alive. __________

I'll keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers. I've been praying for the people in Haiti too. I hope they find him soon. :guilty:

The devastation is so beyond words. Haiti's condition is bad on a good day.

I pray he is safe and just trying to help out. I also pray for all of the people in Haiti.

Prayers said. My DD told me that Dr's without Borders lost just about everyone. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to wait and wonder :sad1:

In addition to the tragedy of the lost lives, the loss of physicians and health care workers (as well as the infrastructure), leaves the survivors even more vulnerable.

That is such terrible news. There is no end to the need in Haiti, yet, when faced with this disaster, the need is so much greater.

Prayers said for him and all the others, especially those who gave of their lives to help make life a little better there, the doctors, missionaries, etc.
The degree of devastation is just so heartbreaking.

Wow...my websites are colliding! Good news- he is safe!

I have a college-mate on Facebook who is Dr. Hall's sister-in-law. She just posted that he has been found. Here is her post...

Got word that David Hall, my brother-in-law is alive and in the Delmar section of Port-au-Prince with a Haitian pastor. The communication was very difficult and indirect and we are still awaiting more news. Thank you for all your prayers!

He is a retired ER doctor and was already headed down there on a medical mission. Glad to know he is alive and able to help out.

It is great news! I heard it on the news early this morning. He made it to the US Embassy and called his wife from a Sat. phone.

I'm glad he was found and okay. I'm glad he will be there to help those in need.
