Prayer request for Pete's dog Max

Pete, I am so sorry to hear about Max. I have you and your entire family in my thoughts and prayers.

Miracles happen every day. Don't give up hope.

Sending positive thoughts and lots and lots of pixie dust.

Carol
It's a great day to be alive!!!

Pete, thanks so much for the update, I've been thinking of Max, you , and Walter most of today. Dh and I had to put our beautiful Sasha down 4 years ago and it was more difficult than I can describe, still it was the right decision...just difficult.

I really hope your wonderful Max rally's is able to enjoy a few more years with you guys. If he doesn't rally, you and Walter did all you could, please try to remember that.

Sending lots of prayers your way. This is such a hard thing to go through. They can't tell us where it hurts and we can only show them love.

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole"

Would you also please send a prayer back our way for my little girl Millie? She is only three and has thyroid issues. (Right now they are still testing to see if it is Cushings or tumor related. )

Pete, Walter, and Max. You are in my and my doggies thoughts and prayers. Yall hang in there.

Hang in there Pete. AVS is a great hospital. You know where to find me if you need anything

glad you decided on signing the DNR..we were faced with the same option and was told by our vet that if we chose to revive him he wouldnt be the same dog ...he had a large tumor on his heart which we were not aware of..neither was the vet..he went into cardiac arrest and were happy with our choice because our vet said he was in a lot of pain.. its been two and miss him dearly but we know he had an awesome 13 years with us..

Update 9/17....

Max is making small but significant improvements. He was able to walk on his own steam into a visiting room to see us today - that wasn't possible yesterday. His blood pressure has stabilized and he's no longer on any blood pressure medications. His kidney function is starting to improve, and his temperature is normal. He has, however, developed a heart arrhythmia which the vet said is not unexpected. She didn't seem too concerned about it, but she said it was something they are watching closely.

I really believe that all the prayers and good wishes are helping. He shouldn't be alive, but he is. I'm not taking anything away from the Doctors at AVS - they're doing an amazing job, but even they are dumbfounded that he's improving, especially considering all the other medical issues he has.

I'm holding my breath between every update (8am and 6pm daily). Unfortunately, we won't be able to visit him tomorrow because the vets office is closed to the public on Sundays, but Walter and I will be there first thing Monday morning. I'm hoping he continues to improve - I want nothing more than to be able to bring him home again.

Thanks again everyone for the support - it means the world to Walter and I (and to Max!!).

Pete

Thanks for the update Pete, I'm so glad that Max (the dog) is continuing to improve (even little steps help). Will continue to keep Max (the dog), you, and Walter in my thoughts and prayers.

That's amazing! I hope Max continues to get stronger. He's a real fighter! Don't forget to take care of yourself, Pete.

Prayers for Max from upstate South Carolina, as well as Pete, Walter, and the vets helping!

What wonderful news! Thanks for sharing - and giving credit where it is due. God is hearing all of the many prayers for your family and it appears He is showing grace. Each day is a gift. I'm so glad you and Walter have each other and are happy and that together you have Max. Families have to stick together. You are still on my prayer list, my friend.

Glad to hear your update Pete. I wish for continued recovery without pain for Max.

(((((Pete)))))

Nothing we can say that hasn't been said...

All the positive energy in the world toward you, babe.....

But.

When that time comes.... Know that MAX was one of the luckiest dogs in the world to have such great owners....

MmmK ?

That circle of life moves us all.

It's going to be OK, I swear...

Joshua
