PPO BOG - Ride Something Other Than 7 Dwarves?

I'm just curious - we've got a PPO BOG reservation, but it's a day during EMM anyway, so I don't really want to head to 7 Dwarves. With the way they're doing rope drop these days, is that even possible?

Scenario 1: You are staying off-site and the BOG reservation will have you finished before the official opening time - maybe you keep the reservation it gets you past the ropes before other offsite guests - you can then walk over to any ride you want - anything outside of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will not open until official opening time, but you will be at the front of the line

Scenario 2: You are staying on-site - I'd drop the reservation and just take advantage of the EMM if you're going to be up anyway - see if you can get an early lunch reservation at BOG after the crowds and waits start building

The benefit of BOG breakfast reservation is in full effect on a non-EMM MK day if you can get one pre-park opening and be done around 15 minutes before park time - you will be able to ride 7DMT before official park opening time. You will have to wait for official opening time for anything else.

I think you think I meant Extra Magic Hour - I actually meant Early Morning Magic — so I wouldn't be able to get on 7 Dwarves early since the paid folks will be doing that. Two years ago, before the change to rope drop, we did a bunch of pre-park openings and basically could wander around when we got finished (and we're two adults who get there around 7:15AM to make sure we're one of the first people seated, so we're ALWAYS done well before 9AM). Like we did Space Mountain right after a Cinderella's Royal Table ressie, a few minutes before the other guests got in.

I'm really just wondering with the new rope drop procedures, if we'll be blocked off from doing that.

You're right - I misunderstood - I can't get used to this new extra morning magic option.

I think I read very recently, but can't remember where (it was most likely in these forums), that PPO BOG guests are being allowed into the regular line around that 8:45 time during the last 15 minutes of the EMM payable event. The paying EMM guests use the fastpass lines. The PPO BOG get to load into the ride from the standby line with the paying guests in the fastpass line begin given priority.

Don't hold me to this though!!

EMM is only max of 200 people and most of them will have already rode 7DMT by the time you are done with BoG. I think you would be fine to head over to 7DMT before the park opens to everyone. At worst you will beat everyone from Main St to 7DMT. Also, I have seen reports where BoG diners were allowed onto 7DMT despite the EMM but I don’t know if that has changed.

I too think that by the time you finish with breakfast EMM folks will be headed elsewhere, so 7DMT would still be my choice. However, if you don't want to do that, I'd be over at Peter Pan to be one of the first ones through that attraction.

If it's before official opening you'll be held before getting too far outside of the Fantasyland / behind the castle area. There will be CMs just past PP and IASW, just past Pooh, and just past BOG that will stop you from going any further.

But as soon as they go (once the opening show is over, around 9) you'll have a great head start on the regular rope drop crowd.

You're welcome. I should probably caveat that things always can change and your mileage may vary, but this was our experience at two EMM's last year (most recent being late Nov 2016). Neither the EMM or PPO BOG folks could get past those boundaries until real rope drop.
