I let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses in chocolate brown. Two purchased dresses from Ann Taylor, one from Anthropologie, and one from David's Bridal.

They are Marc by Marc Jacobs and way out of season, but you might be able to find them at some department stores like Nordstroms or Macys.

I got them on sale here: http://zeta.zappos.com/product/7362911/color/121726 They have other styles and colors available as well

You might also be able to find them on ebay, but be careful because I remember when the ponyhair version was out a couple years ago there were a lot of fakes.
