Can someone please confirm the POTC will down for refurb the entire month of October and part of November. We deliberately choose to go at the end of OCt early Nov, in the hope that for a few days everything would be working. extremely disapointed if POTC is closed.

Unfortunately til Disney gives the official word then NO one can confirm...but Al Lutz said it and he is usually pretty good about being right. My guess is Disney won't say anything til around August.

I have never know that time of the year to have all things up and working since previously it was considered "off season."

It was not wise to hope this. Labor Day to Thanksgiving is still considered off-season. This is well known and discussed around here frequently.

See "Choosing When To Visit DLR: Summary of High and Low Season and When Each Happens" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=36509602

I hope your visit is otherwise magical.

Even Al Lutz's 6/21 update said that, aside from the two weeks around Christmas and Easter week, you can no longer count on there being no rehabs during what was traditionally the "high season." So unless you want to contend with those absolutely massive crowds, there's no way to have reasonable assurance that every ride will be running.... Not even in summer!

Hope things work out for you!

This truly would be a downfall if the ride were not open during your stay. POTC pretty much epitomizes Disneyland to my family. On our last visit, Splash Mountain was closed, and it made such a difference in how the trip felt. I really missed it! We had been there only one week before it opened. :(

That being said, every trip we have had a lot of different rides being closed when we are there, and the thing is, you just have to make the best of it. There are so many other rides to go on. The thing about POTC though is that it was a great ride to go on when so many other rides were packed solid with long queues. POTC is always pretty good about having fast moving lines.

I wish DL would post their refurbishments sooner than they do, but sometimes it's tricky for them to be able to do so.

You might want to consider planning different dates, but even then it's hard to know what to do.
