I have read posts about this and am very excited to get one. :-)
But I cannot remember where they say to buy them.
Help!

:thumbsup2

when we went in Aug we got our kids theirs in DTD toy store. But I do remeber them being just about evreywhere! Any of the big stores in each of the parks had them. My kids love them. We are hoping for new pieces when we go this Aug.

Get it at Once Upon a Toy at DTD. There is HUGE dispenser. I love my potato head. He sits in my kitchen window.

I am sooooo looking forward to getting many parts on our next trip!!! :goodvibes I have already told DH that the potato head parts are on the "MUST BUY" list!!!!!!!!!

i just today bought a mr potato head easter theme at my grocery store of all places. on sale for $5.50 canadian. whoohoo! so i have him decked out in my scrapbooking area, and when i go to disney in december, i am going to fill that box for $18 at Downtown Disney with mickey accessories!

and i read a hint on here: they dont care how u put them in the box, as long as they fit and box closes. so..that means if u DO get a potato body, fill parts INTO his body. its cheaper to get a basic potato head at home at the stores, and just buy the disney parts....
anyway u can also fill parts with parts, ie if a shoe base has a spot to fit say a mickey icecream bar, go for it. large eyes are open in the back? put some in there! GREAT tips for getting the most out of your $18 box of potato head parts. :O)
FYI: my family thinks i am NUTS that i am already planning on buying this for myself when we go. Yes. It will be for ME, not for my kids. (i may share a few pieces with them for their potato heads. LOL)

LOL!!! Yeah, my DH was like "so these parts are going to be for the kids?" I was like "heck no, they're for me!!!" heehee....I know I'll end up sharing though!!!

oh, I have a question: What size is the box that you can fill? How many parts can you typically fit into a box???

When my kids got them a couple years ago, they were $15 a box. You can buy them at Once Upon a Toy at DTD and they also have them in the store near Hester & Chester's Dinorama in AK (DTD has the bigger assortment of items though).

The boxes are a decent size (sorry, I don't know the specific size) and you as for how much you can fit, it depends on what you're putting in it. My kids got quite a few pieces in there (about 10-15 w/out potato head).

DTD is the best place to get the parts because it has the biggest display and variety, but there are several other places that have displays as well.

One other tip: If you decided to buy a standard PH at a local store, be sure to buy the arms at Disney. Some parts will only fit in Disney hands. Don't worry, the Disney arms will fit in a standard PH.

While you are there, check out the My Little Pony display too. They have tonz of Disney accessories for Ponys, same idea, fill a box for $18. I think there are 4 different ponys, and then tonz of different outfits. DD crammed hers with multiple outfits and a pony, it was a great deal!
