Posting 'Most Wanted' ADRs- Why Not?

Obsessive website stalking has yielded an almost 'perfect for us' list of ADRs for our upcoming holiday trip! There's just one ADR I'm still trying to grab (a non-Christmas party CRT dinner on a Christmas party day). I'm on the monthly cancellation threads for my trip, and both post my cancellations in and follow them avidly. However, I see 'requesting', or posting an ADR for which you're looking, is a big no-no on these threads. I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason why- would someone please explain this to me?
Also, is there a thread for posting an ADR you're seeking? If not, again, I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason why not. I'm a relative newbie, so please bear with me... And thank you!
